  1. Oh, there are more! Time to head over to Georgia Scorcher! They were letting you adjust the seat to sitting down! My friend to the right is like...6'2"..and I'm 5'9" Stupid op, you won't unlock it! God, this is going to be uncomfortable... OMG! What is that up there?! Brother's reaction to his first stand up! Woah....it's...huge! What is that?! And we were pulled away on the drop to quick. Argh corckscrew madness! Btw, the seat looks like someone's shoe kicking me in the crotch. Quick, everybody do the Jesus! Hey BuddyChrist! Wait...what's that guy looking at? Arg...there's so much B&M in the way...I just can't make out what it is! ....more to come
  2. Yeah, unfortunately the Mindbender trains have been turned into a giant Nascar promo. I thought it was really ugly. I mean...put them all over the park as posters or on top of Acrophobia! But wrapping the trains in them? Bleck! The current... I was really shocked to see this. But hey, it's a Six Flags decision... Just as KI changed names, the ride still stays the same! Mind Bender was great! Before. These looked cool with the lime green!
  3. Through the magic of TPR, I just transported to you the ghettos of Gotham! Batman has a really nice queue set up with great theme. I really liked it! Time for my ride on Batman! After a front seat ride, it was AWESOME! After two more rides...I felt kind of sick. Two times is more than enough on this ride. It takes a seat as my #2 invert, behind Afterburn, but before Raptor. After spinning up, then slamming you through one corkscrew, it'll whip you around and then throw you through another corkscrew! On over to Mindbender! You're looking at one of the most unique lift hills ever...go ride it and find out why First drop madness! Look out for that loop! The second loop is hiding in there... Oh...that 'third loop' is awesome! Mindbender is very smooth! A very nice addition to Gotham. The villains have to their ride too, right? Six Flags Over Georgia is a very nice, well landscaped park. Something speeds by though the trees as we head over to the other side of the park... I may be crazy, but this woodie is great! Ejector air all over! And I don't mind a rough ride. I like to be rattled around on woodies. I seriously loved this ride. Cyclone is my #2 woodie behind Rumbler! Oh....baby.... You're hardly sitting...kind of standing. It's like...you're bending over/squatting! lol! Who cares?? This is freaking awesome! The guy singing, the tilt, the whole feeling and the airtime was just incredible. It challenges Giant Drop. Destroys Drop Tower and all previous Intamins! Wait...what's that wayyyy up there? Stick around and you'll find out
  4. Alright guys, the photo TR starts here! The only hold up I have right now is this - we got dropped off at the park around 3:00 and my parents didn't get back to the park until about 5ish. During that time, we hit the back of the park - Ninja, Superman, GASM, Mine Ride, Wile, and the Skyride. So those pics are all on my brother's camera...they will be up later. After 7 hours, and Atlanta traffic, we see the awesome Goliath towering over the highway! Welcome to Six Flags Over Georgia...home of what could be the best steel coaster and best drop ride in the USA! Gotham City...home to one freaking INTENSE old school B&M invert, the classic Mindbender, and a nice swing. Batman, it'll make your legs feel like jelly!
  5. Woah...I searched on got some really wierd code...thing. Sorry if someone finds an older thread of this!
  6. A very odd concept, almost seems like a suspended log flume! It just doesn't look like the arms of the car would be able to hold the two 'cars' through the elements. A unique concept... Think it could become reality?
  7. Dude...you can NEVER have too much Papa John's pizza!
  8. Maybe this doesn't count... But! I really liked Batman's qeue tunnel. It's like a sewer or something. Very neat and well themed!
  9. I'm lovin' the reports, Big Mike! Hopefully you'll be able to come party with me at Kings Island! -JZ
  10. I'm home! As promised, I have the pictures. But it's going to take a while to get the pics up without my laptop and iPhoto. So bare with me! Here's a teaser..
  11. Robb, I think Dreamworld, Wet 'n Wild, and Movie World AU would be a great addition to the park index. The parks aren't talked about nor heard about much...and they really should be! My Aussie Thread should provide all the pictures and info you would need. Dreamworld - http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41610&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=australia&start=30 Movie World - http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41610&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=australia&start=60 http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41610&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=australia&start=70 Wet 'n Wild - http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41610&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=australia&start=80 Dreamworld Trip 2 - http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41610&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=australia&start=90 Just suggestions...but I just think these would really put TPR out there. Full coverage of the big Australia theme parks! I hope you'll consider. -JZ
  12. Here's some more pictures from the construction back in the woods.
  13. Yeah, I heard the ops talking one someone was asking if the rides were always this dead on the week days, and they said they were always crowded on the weekends and pretty dead on the week days. One of the ops also said that Georgia Cyclone opened before everything else since it's in the front of the park. So...if that's some help. I leave tomorrow morning, so I should start putting up the pics tomorrow evening. -JZ
  14. Okay, Mindbender was half and half from what I saw. I don't know how they were stacking, but they seemed to do it. Even in Goliath when we got the bonus ride. They stacked. We just stayed locked in the seats for a while. The ops were talking to each other, messing around or trying to hype us up... And that's great but we want to ride again! Awesome rides, awesome park...bad operations. -JZ
  15. Wow, that sucks that the park wasn't operating well when you went. Well by reading your TR it sounds like you didn't really have to wait in any serious lines despite the poor operations, which is good. p.s. Wile E. Coyote is a one train coaster. That's what I was thinking. It was a really cool coaster, though...I think it's funny how it needs a lift to get it back into the station, lol...seemed like a RCT coaster! The wait times were fine, the longest wait was for Superman - 35 minutes. It was really because of the really slow dispatches. I mean, they had two trains going and one was sitting on the break run for about 5 minutes most of the time! It was definitely better than laying backwards head first like Firehawk/Borghawk. Goliath's seats and trains were really cool. I loved the seats and it kind reminded me of the Intamin Half Pipe. It's not floorless, but the seats are high up enough that you can't touch the floor. I like it! The airtime really makes your whole body float in the seat! I really, really can't wait for KI to release what's going on. The no bag policy/loose articles was very 'loose'. I could put my shoes/camera/phone in any of the places to the side of the station! I liked that a lot. Though on Goliath, they didn't let you put bags there. Okay, another HUGE pet peeve of mine. So most lines didn't get out of the station..maybe just outside. Nearly every kid was jumping over the gates and actually going through the landscaping and flowers to get to the station. Yeah, good move...you may have skipped up to 3-5 people...but you stepped on flowers, and pissed people off. But that's not the worst part....the employee who's standing out by the entrance is letting this happen! Not saying a thing! Same with smoking. Tons of people smoking in lines and throughout the park..and no one is saying a thing. Now, that's something I think every park needs to work on. I know you will all probably hate me for this...but I didn't get on the Ghost Manor or whatever. I think I saw it...but I didn't see any signs for it. I looked, but couldn't find it. Sorry guys! I loved my trip to SFOG, but it was the rides that made the trip, and park in my opinion. I know it's only one visit and it sounds like I just had a bad experience. They just need some more flats! Great coasters, and GREAT drop tower. Now they need some more! I am definitely planning on trying to stop by next year or some other time. Beautiful park, fantastic rides, not so great operations and staff. -JZ
  16. About 20 minutes. It wasn't anything special, just had some new odd elements. Kinda got beat up. I liked the location, right over the water...really nice!
  17. Hey guys! I'm still on vacation, so pictures will be uploaded soon. The Nikon D40 was AWESOME and took some really professional shots! Oh, look out, MonkeyPants! Well, I had a great time at the park. It was sunny, and about 100*. Yeah...very VERY hot. And it's sad to say the rides were the only things that made me so happy about this park. Here's why. The park operations and staff here horrible. With two exceptions for Goliath and Acrophobia's staff. They were singing on the mic, getting the crowd involved, and just all around fun. BUT. It was the usual SF operations I hear about. -Ninja, GASM, and I think the Wile Coytote were all one train ops, making it hard to get those credits. -All the rides, yes all. Were stacking. Maybe a few times they got the trains moving quick, but 75% of the time....stacking. Superman was freaking HORRIBLE. -The ops were always messing around, not attending to the rides. Okay, here's a huge rant...so get ready. Me, my friend Michael, and my two brothers all headed up to Georgia Cyclone. There was no wait for the back car, and there was an empty train in the station. So we all head for the back car. The gates are closed, so we wait a little bit. Then, either a supervisor or manager, or whoever, along with an employee took the back seat.....after we had been waiting a few minutes! Then they recognize we're standing there and open the gates. Me and my friend walk through wandering if they will get out of the seat...and they don't. We try to go back, but the gates close. So my and my friend have to go before my brothers, so we're seperated...which we were told not to do. And I don't want to leave them by themselves. They're 12 and 10. So they won't open the gates, and they have trouble unlocking the restrains, and we go on the ride. Yeah, the ride was good...but we had to wait at the exit because the seats were taken. I was really shocked at this, but we just had to suck it up and move on. We didn't have much time left. But it didn't ruin the day! For the park being claimed to be the 'highlight of SF' it didn't live up to the rep. Now, the park looked great. It had really nice woodsy areas, very nice flowers and other gardens flourishing all around. The only part I felt was kind of out of place was the area back by Superman, Ninja, and GASM. That area just felt like 'CF' or regular park. Wasn't as nice as the rest. The rides! They were awesome. They had a flume, sky ride, coasters, and....not so many flat rides. But holy crap, Acrophobia was awesome. Goliath (15 minutes) - This just absolutely stood out. The ride, and the staff. Now. When we first got up into the station, all the trains were shouting 'one more time!' and soon I found out. I didn't know if I believed it or not, but the op said, "If everyone shouts and yells, you get to ride one more time." Well, lucky enough for me....I got to have back to back rides in the FRONT and BACK! Though the first drop in the backseat was GREAT.....the front seat is my favorite. Everyone on the train was screaming...and sure enough, they just kept the restraints locked and sent us through! Oddly enough...they managed to stack the trains! The RIDE: Yeah, I think it's my new number one. I loved the ride. Obsolutely beautiful views going in and out of the park, riding just over the lagoons....so awesome. Oh and there was airtime on every hill. It was my first B&M hyper...and I can't wait for it to come to KI! The only thing I found wierd was that almost everyone can't touch the floor. Why are the seats up so high? Anyways, the restraints were comfortable, the ride was smooth, the helix was GREAT, and the trims were almost nonexistant! Superman (35 minutes) vs. Firehawk vs. BORGHawk: -B&M wins for comfortable rides. -Pretzel loops are awesome! -Heartline rolls just don't do anything for me on flyers. Corkscrews are awesome. -Going up the lift on Superman was boring. I love the flip over! It's a big push/pull, I can't choose who's best. They're all just all around fun, nothing amazing. Now...maybe Tatsu would. Acrophobia (15 minutes)- Awesome, awesome, awesome. Uncomfortable? Yes. But the airtime was really, really good on this one. My #2....close to Giant Drop, but better than and S&S or Drop Zone. The guy was singing and messing around on the mic, and it was really distracting from the anticipation! I only got one ride, and wish I could have gotten more. Scorcher (5 minutes) - I'm a fan of B&M stand ups. I just like them. The loop was nice, and some of those high banked turns threw me out of my seat! The corkscrew is great, and there was no head banging. Too bad we had to wait on the brake run for 5 minutes. Batman (0 minutes) - I got three rides on this bad boy. One in the front seat, and two in the back rows. This thing is freaking INTENSE! Think you've had some g's on other rides? No, come ride this now. It'll slam you from side to side, and make you feel like you're 10000 lbs heavier. The zero g is my favorite part ofcourse. I was really suprised with the overall effort in theming this ride. The qeue was cool and it looked really nice. It came close to my top invert, but I think I still like Top Gun:TJC better. After three rides, I was dizzy. Two rides is enough for this coaster. Mindbender - One ride in the backseat. A very interesting ride. Forceful loops, ejector air, and a smooth ride! I was suprisingly impressed with the overall ride. Georgia Cyclone - One ride in the backseat. This was an insane woodie. I don't know how old it is, but it felt like it was 50. It had incredible airtime, and some roughness. But I don't mind the roughness. It was a long ride, and it's my #2 woodie behind Rumbler. I'll have more reviews and pics later. I'm still on vacation! -JZ
  18. Hm....Maverick, MF , and TTd are good. But I think Goliath at SFOG beats them all
  19. Thanks! Yeah, it's cool. I'm really hoping by some miracle the crowds are low to very low. I'll give a little Boomerang Bay TR from the other day. So me and my friend Michael. Went to NKUniversity for a campus tour; it was day #2 of the bad storms. They had AWESOME pretzel bread. Anyway, we got home around 2 and saw that the storms were clear...and showed up at the park, as planned. Well, there were about...10 cars there and we were probably 2 of 45 people in the park. All slides had no line...and if there were anyone in line, by the time you got to the top of the slide...they were gone. Tasmanian Typhoon - It's the massive ProSlide Tornado...and it's awesome. Pitch black in the tunnel and a really great drop out into the bowl. Airtime, yup. We went on it about...4-5 times. It's my favorite water park ride. Coolangata Racers - You get a mat and climb to the top. 4 different lanes to choose from that swoop down and around 360* and then head into a final drop. I really like this slide...at least my rides I FLY around the corners and then shoot out down the drop. It's a great slide! So I tried that 'artificial wave' boogey boarding/surfing simulator because there was no line. I love boogey boarding in the real ocean, and I'm pretty good at it. But...this isn't the real ocean. I got pushed to the side immediately. So we got back in line for the Tornado! Snowy River Rampage; the raft ride, was closed. We dodged cicadas as we went over to Bondi Pipeline; it's a complex of three inclosed slides. One in the middle that drops straight down; and the two wrap around it in a big 360* diving drop. This is one of my favorites from the first time I went on it. It's a quick ride, but holy crap you go FLYING around the final swoop and drop. It gives some really nice lateral g's. The middle gives good airtime, but kills your back. Aussie (pernounced Ozzie, kthnx) Awesome Twister - I usually ride this, and don't know why. The first half is good...until pick up speed and the water just shoots up your nose and eyes and face. Bleh. I had rivets on my shorts, so I had to skip the body slides. The final slide was the single inner tube ride. Down Under Thunder or something. It's always a nice, relaxing ride. So we looked at the time and realized we covered the entire park comfortably in about 1.5 hours...we headed home before more storms came. It was a nice, humid day. Oh...and now it's FIVE DOLLARS for a regular Dippin' Dots! I had a problem with 3.75....but for five, I just can't do it. If you're hungry at KI....get the big Rice Krispie Treat! It takes about 15 minutes to eat, and it's only...1.59!!! Hahaha, it's awesome. -J 'Anticipating Goliath....' Z http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34963&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=140 Link to pics. They should expand the park soon.
  20. THE CRYPT UPDATE!!! Okay, so before, the ride area was like some...garage with techno music. NOW, about 3-4 weeks later...here's the new Crypt. -Yeah, it still feels like a garage...until the ride starts -Once the ride starts, everything goes black; before it was the same white spotlights on. -NO MORE TECHNO! Now there's a really cool/creepy wind blowing as you enter. When the ride starts, it's more of an adventurous type theme that's really nice and fits in. -RED, BLUE, and also many other color lights that shine, flicker, and strobe; some show different objects/things as you ride -The ride is still the same 'berserk' mode. Awesome! -Death Bat doesn't move any more. OLD CRYPT - Eh, lacked many things...but a cool ride. NEW CRYPT - Yeah, the bat doesn't move...but a BIG improvement in a small amount of time. Maybe this is why it's been down recently. Go ride this! It's a must stop at Kings Island! I'm very very impressed! Construction: Um, so I've confirmed with a few KI managers that there will be a water splash. There's a MASSIVE trench/ditch/valley being made. Holy crap...this ride is going to be freaking massive! BACKING UP JAMES: So I was talking to my friends at Delirium today since it was down and they were all out at the entrance. They WILL be getting headsets soon! So, Mr. Dillaman is quite credible. I'd take his word for things. -J 'Packing for SFOG!' Z
  21. Of course it looks different with a line. SoB is actually operating consistantly this year. Wow...good thing to point out! That hadn't even crossed my mind! Last year the operations were horrible! Usually one train or closed! Oh, NINCUB - I'm getting there around 1 or 2. We're leaving at 5AM sharp from Cincinnati...the earliest I could get everyone up! I should be wearing my TPR shirt, but I'll keep you posted! -J 'I'll have the Q-Bot...' Z
  22. Thanks for the info, NINCUB! Makes me feel better about friday crowds. I'm mainly hoping to get on: -Goliath -Batman -Mindbender -Acrophobia -Scorcher -Superman I'll be there around 6-7 hours, so that sounds do-able.
  23. The park closes at 10PM. But what park stops operations and forces people from the lines? Scooby Doo is usually a 20 minute wait on average. I waited 10 the other day, though. Backlot has two points of airtime in the front seat - after the 89*turn, you swoop down then up: airtime. Coming up into the 'dead end alley' there's some airtime. The carousel moves at a...moderate pace? Boomerang Bay is included. Everyone usually rushes for Firehawk and FoF at the beginning of the day. Though Invertigo is always a one train op. lines can build up after 11:30-12.
  24. Since so one gives KI love but me, I guess I'm destined to do this. Kings Island Park Management: Even on dead days at the park, there will be full operations, unless it's a day early or late in the season when they can't get enough workers. The park is sterling on opening time and getting a mob in front of the rope before it's dropped. People are generally nice, the park is well kept up and it's clean. Ride Recommendations: Firehawk - It's the newest coaster at the park, slow with operations, unreliable when it comes to being open. I'm not sure how it is this year, but it wasn't too good on opening up at 10. Anyways, I'd go there first. Expect a long line all day. It's a nice coaster when you get to ride it, but make sure you're hydrated going into the line. I recommend the front seat, but you might be assigned. Don't forget to buy a locker to put your loose articles in! Flight of Fear - Conveniently located next to Firehawk, so it will absorb some of the crowd. It usually has a 20-40 minute line because it seems to be the GP's favorite ride, and it's air conditioned. The front seat is my favorite, it's very forceful, smooth, and is all around a great ride. Vortex - The park's multi looping Arrow awesome coaster. It's a line eater with three trains usually operating. For the best results, I'd go for the back seat for a nice whip of airtime on the first drop. It can be jerky towards the front, so you're warned. 15-20 minutes on a crowded day. Invertigo/Face:Off - It's the invterted boomerang. One train op, so expect a 25-30 minute wait after 12PM on a crowded day. I've rarely had a bad ride on this coaster, stick to the front or back. This ride will throw you around...in the awesome juicy good way. The Beast - Like SoB I've been avoiding the backseat like the plague due to horrible rides. Seriously...save this for the last ride of the trip. At night, it's a fun ride. During the day...it's just meh. Lines can get bad on a crowded day. BEWARE: This ride will TEMPORARILY CLOSE at 9:40 because the fireworks are close to the ride. It should resume operations at 10:05ish? Did the Midwest Trippers have problems with this? Son Of Beast - Oddly enough, this ride has constantly had a 20 minute wait every time I've visited. The best bet is for the front seat. Be sure to lean foreward on the first helix and hold on tight! This is one big, scary monster. Adventure Express - I wouldn't worry about lines for this ride. Usually 15 minutes max. It's a classic Arrow mine train with quick hairpin turns, sudden drops, and wierd tunnels and.....THE BEST ENDING EVER! Racers - Both seem the same to be except for one thing. If you're a backseat rider, go for the BLUE racer. If you're a front seat person, go for the RED racer. Just seemed better to me. Don't expect a long wait for this one. Flight Deck/Top Gun - The best seat on this ride really is the back. It's got a nice pop of air in the first drop, and it throws you past 90* a few times. Lines can get lengthy because of constant stacking. Backlot Stunt Coaster/IJST - Still one of the most intense helixes around. It's a nice coaster when the effects all work, but definitely worth the wait. Front seat will provide best experiences on this coaster! Ops are usually good with getting trains in and out, but lines can get up to 30 minutes on a crowded day. Delirium - This is a very popular flat at KI. I'd say a good 30 minute wait on average/crowded days. I'd plan for a morning ride. Drop Tower - My favorite ride at KI. It's the 310ft drop ride that consistently provides excellent airtime and views. Usually 15-20 minutes on ok days. The Crypt - It's a mystery when it comes to operations. It frequently breaks down, and lines can go from 20-50 minutes. Be very cautious, but rides will be in for a big treat. Avatar - It's one of the 'disk-o' coasters, but offers different seating. It's one of my favorite rides, and should definitely be visited when coming to the park! 10-20 minutes wait? Wild Thornberry's River - It's a small log ride that doesn't really have much to offer. It's got one drop and you get wet because water leaks into the boat, and a hose sprays you in the end. 15-30 minutes. Food: -Subway -Skyline: A Cincinnati only thing. It's amazing chili. -Larosas Pizza: Another Cincinnati thing. Really good pizza. Sweet tomato sauce. -Festhaus Standoutish things: -Fireworks every night at 10 Halloween Haunt is freaking awesome. Definitely worth a stop by for the haunted attractions.
  25. Yup, what Carnage said. It's nice enough for the price, and there's a decent pool outside to relax at if you're going to have some down time. It's ride on CP road and about 5 minutes from the park. Right across the street is a Mickey D's, so that's always nice! Rides and flats? -Maverick -Mil.F -Magnum -Mantis -Gemini -Power Tower -Demon Drop My first ride on Power Tower was great, the rest were just good...I'll stick to Intamin's stuff.
