Hurricane Sandy vs. Roller Coasters
packfanlv replied to UrbanLegend's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While I am glad I got these two credits last year, they were nothing special. Just two more coasters to say that I have been on. On the other hand the parks in Seaside Heights are full of charm and I hope they make a strong recovery. Being able to rebuild new rides with that same atmosphere should only be able to strengthen these parks. Hopefully they come back stronger than ever! -

I have been to Ocean Park and agree the views are unparalleled. These photos make me long to go back! -

I thought it was an average B&M but Diamondback is much better in my opinion. When we were there last month I didn't notice it to be rough, but but such things are subjective. -

When we were there for Leviathon Bash, my son and I managed everything in 6 hours without the fast lane and that was on a busy day. I would recommend working hard in the morning to get around so you can use the fast lane for re-rides in the afternoon. Definitely doable. -
Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

This looks like a great addition to that park. It is nice to see they are combining both parks into one admission. Thanks Chad! -
I agree the ride will be fun. Perhaps people were just building this up to be more than it ever was going to be. I was hoping for something bigger like a Cheetah Hunt, but this ride looks fun and I will be excited to ride it. World class it is not, but it will still be fun and with Premier's reputation the ride could be really intense!

Great job! I have been looking forward to this since that day. It was really interesting to see all of the work behind the scenes that you put into it. I wonder how you are going to top this one? -
Cars Land and The Grand Re-Opening of DCA
packfanlv replied to ILoveRides's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for covering this David. Buena Vista Street and Carsland both look amazing. I am really taken aback by the amount of detail in both lands. I can't wait to visit! Those ears at World of Color also look fantastic. Like Jon said, too bad there will probably never be as many people with the ears given that they cost $25! -
Seriously bad theme park days

My thoughts exactly! And if you're in NYC why the fudge would you go to Dunkin Donuts for a bagel!?!?!?!? -
In regards to line jumping, it is terrible with this ride. I had at least 50 people cut in front of me during the course of waiting for four rides. They just walk right through like it is nothing. As far as comparing Manta to Cheetah Hunt, I wouldn't. Manta is much smaller and doesn't have an inversion. I guess I would call it a mini Cheetah Hunt although CH is a better ride in my opinion. But with limited space and an insane height restriction SeaWorld did as good as they could. Manta really is a tremendous ride!

I visited on a weekday in the Summer of 2008 and found the same thing to be true. The animal exhibits and shows were busy, because most of the people at the park were seniors. All of the rides had waits that were no longer than 20 minutes.

I agree with Elissa. Planning a cross country tour like that is difficult and exhausting. I have done it several times, but I don't just ride roller coasters. If you take a TPR trip it will be the most fun you have ever had and you can just enjoy the parks instead of having the stress of planning everything!

Fraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. Gay?!? Nooooooooooooooooo! I shared a room with that guy. This explains all of those shirtless pictures of ACE fatties I saw on his computer. Seriously though this makes me want to get on a plane to one of my favorite cities today. Hopefully I will get a chance to visit NYC this summer. Thanks for an awesome report!

I just got back from San Diego where I got a chance to ride Manta. The ride is definitely better at night, but it is great either way. There are some nice pops of airtime and a couple of pretty intense transitions that surprised me. The animation at the beginning gets a little washed out during the day, but it is clear and vibrant at night. All I can say is that the ride is much more than I expected and given their height restrictions, it is about as good as SeaWorld could've done. As someone else said, the area in the back with mounds of mulch doesn't look great, but lets hope they correct that. The station and queue are fantastic with the caveat that they are still finishing up landscaping in some areas. Overall this is a HUGE win for SeaWorld and a huge win for Southern California!
