Midwest/Eastcoast trip suggestions?
gnewton34 replied to Blazen_AZN's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is there a King's Inn in Sandusky? I'm aware of the King's Inn that's near King's Island. If you booked the King's Inn near King's Island and plan to go to Cedar Point those two days then it's going to be a really long drive, they're on opposite ends of the state. You may want to look at the Midwest Tour flyer that was posted, it has a list of a few parks in and around the Ohio area. A few examples are King's Island, Kentucky Kingdom, Beech Bend and Holiday World. And Columbus is quite a distance from New York and DC as well. Is it 10 days for the whole trip or 10 days to go to amusement parks? Are you driving everywhere in a rental car from the Columbus area? -
A new way to ride Stealth

Ummmm...eww. I'd rather not get an STD from naked people riding coasters, thanks. Boob videos are allowed here? -
The Cube ( Melbourne, Australia )
gnewton34 replied to rosscoe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You actually have to pay two seperate fees. One to get into the Skydeck and then another price to get in the glass box that extends. So it's going to be a ridiculous total cost of about $23.50 US. No way I'd pay that much. That's about the cost to get into some amusement parks. -
The Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Thread! [DS]

Okay this is unrelated to the game but related to pokemon. Is it sad that I squealed like a girl when I saw this video of the woman who does the voice of Pikachu? http://emuse.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/20286 -

Sorry, but I would not pay that much to just stand in a glass box with music. Actually I wouldn't pay anything to simply stand in a box. -
Six Flags T-shirts
gnewton34 replied to Medusa1861's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maybe they have a license to use the names of DC characters for their rides but not to make and sell t-shirts that feature them? -
What I watch... 1. The Amazing Race (next week is the finale, woo!) 2. Grey's Anatomy 3. America's Next Top Model 4. Little People Big World 5. If I can't find anything else on I'll watch reruns of Trading Spaces or some other design or home repair show on TLC or Discovery Home. I too liked the first couple of episodes of Drive but was sad to hear that it was cancelled after only two airings. Fox is the freaking worse for doing that. I had no idea of when the actual show was coming on. They did the same exact thing to Firefly when it was on. Nathan Fillion just can't catch a break with the shows he gets cast in. But dang, he sure is freakin' hot.

I totally agree they totally deserve a million bucks for that teletubby remark I rolled when he said that. I'm sad to see Danny and Oswald gone, they were great for some random laughs like that. I don't really care who wins at this point.

Most Memorable Roller Coaster Ride?
gnewton34 replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Being the last group of the night to ride The Beast at King's Island. It was soooo fast and flying through the woods not really being able to see much of anything is an awesome feeling -
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. I just got this email today. A 12 am curfew for businesses geared toward adults is ridiculous. I know I would avoid Ohio like the plague if that bill actually passes. Lots of people from Kentucky actually go to Cincinnati because there is a bit more of nightlife than here. Do they not realize how much that would hurt business in the bigger cities? How could the senate pass a bill like that, how stupid are they? I'm not saying that I go to strip clubs or anything like that but I know it's an enjoyment for many other people. http://www.stopthesenate.com/sb16.php If you live in Ohio, here is a link to the petition to sign against this. http://www.stopthehouse.com/contact/oh/house

Theme Park Review's 2007 Group Trips!

If your talking about the midwest tour, I believe it's starting out at CVG airport, a little bit south of Cincinnati, not in Cleveland, OH. -
The Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Thread! [DS]
gnewton34 replied to Homer's topic in Random, Random, Random
a piece of advice for anyone who hasn't purchased it yet. circuit city has it on sale in their circular for $27.99 and if you go to Wal-Mart they should price match it from their regular price of $34.88 plus all the copies that Wal-Mart has comes with a bonus DS pokemon case. Diamond seemed to be the more popular of the two games. i haven't played it yet, i probably won't get to for a couple weeks cause i've got finals and stuff, bleh. but as you probably know, pokemon games like this rarely go down much in price so $27.99 is really good. -

What was that person doing on the front of Kraken? It looks like they were either spazzing out or performing some sort of cheer. -
A few years back I went to King's Island and was on the Zephyr, I guess that's what it's still called. It's the swing ride next to the entrance for Flight of Fear. Well anyway, if you've ever been to King's Island and seen this ride you know that it's right across from a huge area were there a lot of midway-type games. Well the ride operator that was running the swings was, for the lack of a better term, a bit different. You could tell she was very anti-establishment. She was very emo. Every time before she would start the ride, she would make her safety statements and what not and she would add this spiel into it "Welcome to King's Island ladies and gentlemen. I would like to focus your attention to the games next to this ride. Do not play these games, these games are all rigged. This is my public service announcement of the day." Then at the end of the ride she would add. "Remember ladies and gentlemen, do not play the games. Thank you and enjoy the park." We waited through a couple turns and she did it both times. I was just like I thought it was really weird BUT funny and thought maybe she was trying to get fired or something. I kept looking around for supervisors or managers to head her way. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or had any weird experiences with amusement park workers?

What's the worst song you ever heard?...
gnewton34 replied to Movieguy's topic in Random, Random, Random
Ummmm...she was being facetious when she did that song. It wasn't meant to be serious, it was done as an April Fool's prank. -
Nah, it won't change. The rides and characters they have are more based on current comic book incarnations not movie versions.

What's the worst song you ever heard?...
gnewton34 replied to Movieguy's topic in Random, Random, Random
Hinder-Lips of an Angel I curse the radio and the radio station that plays it every time it comes on. I find it funny that women think this song is soooo romantic and beautiful, yet it's about a guy and a girl, exes, talking to each other behind their current boyfriend and girlfriend's backs. This is romantic how? Anyone who's ever been cheated on or left for another person should find this song disgusting. Yay, lets romanticize cheating? Puke. -
It looks like it's gonna be great. Looks like they're going all out with the custom flat rides. That premier coaster ferris wheel thing is awesome! I laughed out loud when I saw that "Just a Swingin'" swing. That song used to be soooo big here back in the day. I used to have a t-shirt that said that when I was in elementary school. Yeah I was super cool.
