First Visit To Dollywood Advice
gnewton34 replied to live2tell75's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've got a couple questions about Dollywood and Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg too. Didn't really see the point of making a new thread since there's one floating around Is the park very busy during the weekdays in mid-July? Is there enough to keep a 7, 10 and 13 year-old entertained for a two-day visit? The youngest hates anything to do with coasters she cried on the Beastie at King's Island. I'm trying to get the 13 year-old to ride the bigger coasters, the biggest he's ridden is The Beast at King's Island and Apollo's Chariot at BGE. Any advice on good hotels in the area that are not too overpriced? Is there anything else in the area that is a must do? -
Orlando trip advice

Honestly I dont think you can cram all that in the four days you'll be there. When me and my family went last summer we went to Disney for two days, Sea World for one and Universal for one. Even with that I missed out on a lot. We stayed the whole day at Magic Kingdom and still didn't get to ride and see everything. Then we did the park hopper and hit the other three parks the next day which I do not recommend. It was so rushed we couldn't enjoy it as much and missed out on seeing a lot. I think the advice in the other post is good advice but since you only have 4 days I would suggest 2 days at Universal and 2 days at Disney. But of course I'm also a huge Disney fan. That would give you ample time at Universal but you'd still probably miss out on quite a bit at Disney. -

Busch Gardens Europe questions.

No, it wasn't Kinetix. Imaginique was still playing at the time, which was freaking amazing. It was three summers ago that we were there when Darkastle first opened. It was a show centered around a guy's bag and the stuff that was inside it. I think there may have been a big pearl at one point. It was an indoor theater show. My nephews and niece loved it. I would like to go back some time. I got to ride so few rides, it was just tooooo hot to wait in line in the heat. I only got to ride Apollo, Pompei, Corkscrew Hill and Darkastle. I was so upset, the people I went with were not coaster people. -

The shows in the Ireland area are really good. Castle O'Sullivan is a cute little show with puppetry and on-stage illusions (I may have enjoyed it more though because I thought the lead guy was mega-hot) and the Irish dancing show was really neat too. But I like that sort of thing. There was also an awesome cirque-type show when I went but I found no mention of it on the website the last time I looked, it may be that mystique show mentioned before. We didn't get to do a lot when we went because it was SOOOOO hot. The days we went the heat was record-breaking. It was way up in the 100's. We tried doing a lot of the inside stuff because it was so hot and we had younger kids with us. I do recommend Apollo's Chariot though. -

Working in a park in summer

If I'm not mistaken I think he may actually be looking for information about how to get a job at an amusement park and who to contact and what-not here in the states since he lives in another country. -

lol.. Re-read it. I think he ment the photo of the wood. Came from a cellphone cam I'm fairly certain he was being facetious -
I know! I couldn't believe they actually let them leave after 10 minutes in the vault, they should've been made to have to figure it out. What kind of challenge was that? The sit in a vault for 10 minutes challenge. The hardest mental challenge they've had like that was the flag challenge. And I can't believe that the spoiler list was actually right. Bleh. I feel they went way too easy on the teams this season, the toughest thing they did was that kayak paddle out to the boat. They definitely need to make their challenges harder and a bit more exciting. Where are the extreme stunts they used to have to do?

The last time I rode Shake Rattle and Roll it freaked me out. I was riding with my nephew when he was younger and I was paranoid he was going to fall out. I was like woah, I don't remember this flipping us up this much and like holding on to the little guy for dear life. -
