Shooting at Wet 'n Wild Orlando
gnewton34 replied to Swimace's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Last time I checked, there aren't any vital organs or arteries in the mouth. Any gunshot wound is life-threatening And any wound to the mouth is dangerous because of infection alone. I've seen people die as a result of dental work. -

Ummmmmm...gunshot wound to the mouth not life-threatening? -
A Marine was deployed to Afghanistan. While he was there he received a letter from his girlfriend. In the letter she explained that she had slept with two guys while he had been gone and she wanted to break up with him. AND, she wanted pictures of herself back. So the Marine did what any squared-away Marine would do. He went around to his buddies and collected all the unwanted photos of women that he could find. He then mailed about 25 pictures of women (with clothes and without) to his girlfriend with the following note: "I don't remember which one you are. Please remove your pictures and send the rest back."

I watched Smart People yesterday. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. Ellen Page was great though. She's the only thing that made the movie even remotely watchable.

Robb & Jahan Go To White Castle
gnewton34 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmph...most people I know from around here had never heard them called that either. Weird. People wanted to eat KFC while we were in Kentucky on the Midwest trip but we never managed to be near one which I thought was kinda funny. I personally don't like Steak N' Shake either. Their burgers are just meh. They have good shakes but that's it. I personally like Fuddruckers, Back Yard Burgers and Culver's really well. -
Robb & Jahan Go To White Castle

Is calling them "sliders" a regional thing? We've had White Castle here since I was born and I'd never heard that or any burger called that. The first time I heard a burger called a "slider" was on a season of Top Chef. -

Article: The Mecca of the Mouse
gnewton34 replied to sugart's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Why would you even bother to go to any Disney park unless you were either a fan of Disney or a fan of amusement parks? Obviously this guy is neither so it's kinda silly for him to try to vacation there in the first place. The whole article was just him trying to make the parks look dumb with what he considered witty observations. If he's going to be that uppity on his vacations, he needs to stick to art galleries, expensive seven course dinner restaurants and wine tastings. I'll stick with my fast food and amusement parks. -
Hooray for Lou updates! I think he made a mistake, his friend most likely wanted pictures of harajuku fashion not hooker fashion. They kind of sound alike.

I'm kind of dating myself but does anyone remember this? I'm a huge He-Man and She-Ra fan and moderate at a forum dedicated to the cartoons. We've got around 3000 members so it still has a pretty big following. Someone posted this video on the forum. I had no idea He-Man and She-Ra were ever at Universal Studios. Did anybody here get a chance to attend this or does anyone remember it or have pictures from it? I'd love to hear any stories and see any pictures from it. And how cool is it that people who went got a free He-Man or She-Ra toy? Wonder what happened to the costumes, heh.

I didn't see those masks the last time I went. They're beautiful, especially the second to last. Bet they're expensive though. -

This is great, I don't know how I missed this before. I love that you inadvertently got a picture of me and my infamous losing of the kiddie strength game. -

Hehe...the mouse at Little A-Merrick-A. The little haunted house at Little A-Merrick-A scared the crap out of me. I honestly didn't think we were going to get out alive. And then there was the tilt-a-whirl with Mario in the middle where the ride op kept stopping the ride every 10 seconds because she thought someone was going to puke or wanted off. Hmmmm...that's hot, hehe. -
My worst experience was when I was younger. Me and my cousins went sledding on a hill behind their house. Unfortunately, it was also a cow grazing area. I was holding on to the sides of the sled as we went down the hill. My hand hits a frozen pile of cow poo breaking my knuckle. Yes, I broke my hand on frozen cow poo. Moral of the story...don't sled where cows poo.

Funniest Ride Experiences
gnewton34 replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well I've got two funny stories about my nephew. I'm the one who got him to actually ride roller coasters, big ones that is. The first "big" coaster I got him on was the racers at King's Island, he was probably 7 at the time. I got him to ride because I told him the coasters race each other. We go over the first hill and he is almost in tears and scared to death. He looks that way through the whole first part of the coaster. We get to the turnaround point and are heading back. He looks over at me with tears in his eyes, holding on for dear life and says all shaky "Are we wiiiiiiinniiiiiiiing?" I told him that we were and had to turn away because I was laughing. The next experience was on Apollo's Chariot. He was 9 at this point I think. This was the biggest coaster he'd ever ridden. From the ground, it doesn't look that daunting but when you're going up that hill and have never been in seats like that before it's scary. I'll admit I got scared but I had to put on the brave face for him. We're going up the hill, higher and higher and higher, and he's getting more scared and more scared. He starts freaking out a little and I tell him to just close his eyes. He did but then opens them almost at the top of the hill and starts crying. I'm like "It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay." This random woman next to him starts to console him too and says, "Oh honey, it's gonna be okay" right at the point where we go over the hill and then she starts screaming in his face. After the hill, he loved it though and was yelling at the top of his lungs he loved it so much. He chose not to ride any more coasters that day though, lol. He's just like me, I hate the climb up the hill but love everything thereafter. -

Gosh - I'd forgotten "The Neverending Paratrooper Ride" That was NUTS. The swings also kinda scared the snot out of me as well, especially with the water show going on under you. Gary - weren't you making all of those crazy squeaking noises on that launch tower?? good times...good times... Thanks Jahan - appreciate the memories. David Yup I was making my scared noise. The towers scare me so bad but I have to ride them That one time scared the crap out of me though because it misfired or something and only went up a few feet. I was like hmmmmmm... Jen cracked me up on LoCoSuMo..."WHY IN THE *bleep* DOES THE BEAR HAVE BEADS?!?!" And then there was the bar with the band that Better than Ezra was better than. The hot bartender was giving me free drinks. Not to mention the "turkey" hats. Good times...good times. One of the best parks ever.
