  1. "Dolly channeling Dio." That's hilarious! She probably could do a really good cover of "Rainbow in the Dark" though.
  2. I look forward to the book Shane. Will you also have those magical ATM's from Japan?
  3. I called two of the Nashville area KFC's, and they're only honoring the Oprah coupon during the hours of 1-4 pm.
  4. I too would be interested in that Shane. Had you even thought of building this when we were on the Japan trip?
  5. Huntsville really is a cool little city. I enjoyed the years I lived there back in the 90's. I used to walk to downtown from my house all the time. I went to Panoply a few times back then too. Looks about the same now as it did then except the vendors have gotten cooler and the booth design more extreme. Loved the newspaper booth photo and caption! Haha! Thanks for sharing Rapids.
  6. I checked out Grand Ole Golf's arcade last night. Unfortunately only one pinball was to be found, and it wasn't the Jurassic Park machine sadly. They had "Royal Rumble", which is currently ranked #182 on Pinside. I thought it was an ok game, but it would have been a lot better had the upper level right flipper been working. Otherwise, the machine seemed to be in really good condition. The "TAG" electronic plunger was kinda genius since it is a WWF themed machine, but it seemed to shoot the ball the same distance each time which was a drawback IMO. I liked how the whole machine would vibrate and shake during certain scoring moments. If you're a wrestling fan you'd probably love this machine! I played it twice and left after taking a few pics. Sorry the photo quality isn't too great, but I didn't want the flash police to come over and it was rather dark in there. Anyone else have any new pinball experiences lately?
  7. Oh no they're taking away the Mickey Mouse Revue! How will I get my nap in the next time I go?!
  8. If you like micro breweries, the Smoky Mountain Brewery in Gatlinburg is good stuff. You can order a sampling of their different beers, and their pizza is DIVINE! Here's a link: http://smoky-mtn-brewery.com/page.asp?id=125 Apparently there's one in Pigeon Forge also, but I have only experienced the G'burg one.
  9. In Pigeon Forge, you might want to try Zorb: http://www.zorb.com/smoky/
  10. Fun TR! I was really shocked when I saw a reference to the band Veruca Salt too. Wow!
  11. Wooo Muse rocks! Looking forward to seeing your vid for their song and also Rooftop when you finish it.
  12. Last Sunday I was unable to bring all you valuable Postcard Paradise readers a new postcard here because I was out on a postcard shopping binge at Silver Dollar City. Wow...what a gorgeous park! I absolutely loved it. Since I've been going to Dollywood all my life, SDC seriously had a very similar feel to it for me, and that's a good thing. Really I think all the park is lacking is a good woodie, and it would be perfect. It's definitely a park everyone should check out! Here's a look at Wildifire, Silver Dollar City's short but intense B&M. Cobra rollin' Best B&M first drop EVAR! The ginormous Immelman rocks too.
  13. Awesome Jeff! Thanks for sharing. Black Pepper and Curry for the win!
  14. This is a fun thread Erik. Thanks for sharing. I always wondered what was at the top of the Sky Lift, and now I know. Has the Space Needle structure been painted black? I really hope not!
  15. Props for the inclusion of Bread's "Lost Without Your Love"! If MGMT made a theme park vid this would be it. Cool stuff.
  16. The riders look soaked to me. I think the splash will be plenty enough for my tastes!
  17. This is all so exciting Shane! It looks really amazing so far. Will there be any tv commercials? If so, I hope you share them with us here. Keep up the great work!
  18. Scott I checked out the Schmeck book and indeed the postcard in my link above appears to be of the OOB Cyclone and *not* the Jack Rabbit. Below is a scan of the Cyclone photo for those of you without the book. Other photos of Cyclone make it look like a fairly twisted and great ride! Now if we could only find some photos of Jack Rabbit to go along with restoca's postcard.
  19. You could be right Scott. I'll try to remember to check the Schmeck book when I get home from work and see if there are any good photos of the Cyclone in it.
  20. Well that's certainly an obscure coaster...no info on RCDB. In this view it appears to have had somewhat of an exciting figure 8 type layout.
  21. Maybe they're theming it to "Pink Torpedo" by Spinal Tap!
  22. ^ Shane you just never know what cards you'll find in parks today. I'm still amazed when marquee attractions such as SROS at SFNE and Goliath at SFOG did not have postcards when I visited a few years ago, yet other attractions in those parks did.
  23. Shane...awesome news piece!
  24. Great tips guys. Keep 'em coming!
  25. ^ FREE parking area you say?! How does one find this area? Is it SDC's parking lot?
