  1. Jeff from Larson is awesome. He allowed me to tour their warehouse a few years ago and they've got some killer stuff! Nice to see this come to fruition.
  2. I'm not sure why it took them 4 years, but it looks like SF has finally put Ultra Twister up for sale. Link. Between this and Greezed Lightnin', Shane could start a mini AstroWorld.
  3. I am astounded by all this in depth coverage! Voyage trains are the sexy. Nice to see TPR and Hanno get props. Thank you so much Robb and Elissa!
  4. I'd fix the reversed banked part of The Voyage in the back bowl.
  5. I was thinking the same thing! Doesn't make very much sense to me. Especially for people that just wanna relax in the river and can't cause they'll get dumped into the wave pool. Either way, this is a great addiction to the park. According to the press release: "The 1,100 foot long lazy river will feature a “not so lazy” component as it is connected directly to the wave pool. Waves generated from the wave pool flow into the river causing a unique ocean motion effect." To me that sounds like the lazy river will flow away from both sides of the wave pool, not towards or in a circular path.
  6. Halfway to nowhere between Beech Bend and SFKK, lies the oft overlooked Guntown Mountain. It's just a little blip on the map along the interstate and has always intrigued me as I've driven by it. There isn't much to see from the interstate except a chairlift, but upon closer inspection there are a few other attractions including a boarded up haunted house, ghost town, and train ride. I think there's also an alpine slide. I've never actually been inside the park since it was closed when I stopped in '07, and I'm not even sure if the park is still operating, but at least the huge gift shop was open and full of all kinds of trinkets and nick knacks including cured hams! Can someone vouch for visiting the park or if it's still in operation? Chance train enthusiasts rejoice! Who's up for an autumn train ride through the back woods of Kentucky?
  7. I wanna go to the party in your city! This looks SO amazing! Elissa I have the "Music is Awesome" CD and it really is good. You can find it at Target or probably Amazon, although mine did not come with a live bonus disc. Hopefully I can post a CD review here soon. Anyway, thanks for the show review, vids, and pics!!!
  8. Incredibly stunning! Thanks for sharing!
  9. Steve I am loving that you ranked Bakken's Rutschebanen at #3! I figure it will pop into my ballot's top 10 this year too. It really was insanely good when we rode it, and I seriously think I liked it as much as Balder. I just hope it isn't ruined with those new 2010 trains.
  10. Well I just learned something new. Having never visited MM til '06, I had always thought that the former two skyrides criss crossed each other going to 4 separate corners of the park. I see now from the maps that I was wrong (first time for everything ), so thanks for clearing that up Shane. Spillikin Corners almost sounds like it was a mini Dollywood area of the park. AWESOME update!
  11. Glad you enjoyed Divv! I think that card is just priceless and pretty much sums up my feelings/love for BBJland too.
  12. ^ Thank you!
  13. Awesome work as always Larry. Thanks for keeping the index up and running! Oh and I bet there are some new postcards in the nostalgia sections.
  14. ^ Does your friend also live in the ATL and have any tables he wants to sell? That's only about a 4 hour drive for me if I were to buy one from him and need to pick it up. ^^ Good tip on Craigslist. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!
  15. Lol thanks Shawn. I hope everyone had a good Halloween! Did anyone eat too much trick or treat candy like these folks from Bobbejaanland? The back side of this card is blank, but I think the front says it all anyway! Post Halloween tummy aches?
  16. So I'm curious...how did you guys who own machines actually acquire them? I wouldn't mind owning one myself so that's why I ask.
  17. ^ That woodie sounds like it was Thunder Eagle from Pigeon Forge's Race World.
  18. I don't have very good feelings about this based on Burke's past performance with SF. I really wish Shane had bought it instead!
  19. Does the Dolly Trolley no longer take people to the park from the main tram center in downtown Pigeon Forge? In the past, I've always parked my car there for free and taken the $.50 trolley ride to the park. That walk to the park would've been REALLY long if not for those sweet little old ladies. Love the pics!
  20. Shane all of the images are loading for me and WOW...that was epicly intense!
  21. I'm running behind on my SCAREadise postcard updates, but speaking of Cedar Fair and draggin' iron, here's the heavy metal ghoul from Dorney Park's Steel Force. Could this be a distant relative of Iron Maiden's Eddie?
  22. Yeah that launching action on Tornado really surprised me too. It was awesome until it immediately threw me into what felt like a brick wall. I absolutely loved Bakken's Rutschebanen. It definitely catapulted into my top 5 or 10 woodies...I think I liked it as much as Balder! Loving the TR Divv!
  23. Ditto! Closing OL is probably the worst decision ever made in Nashville's tourism industry history.
