  1. Where is the best place for a coaster enthusiast to live? In an amusement park?
  2. SO IS IT A CREDIT OR NOT??????!!!!! I HAVE TO KNOW!!!11!!
  3. Not when the cost of maintaining the ride outweighs the popularity.
  4. My favorite park of all time. Oh the stories.....
  5. I never said the park is corporate. I am just implying the park runs on more assets than people may realize, especially considering they are all cash. There is something in between "mom and pop" and "corporate".
  6. ^ Is it really that shocking? It is an iconic Great Adventure ride, but ridership is so low these days, and really, the ride blows.
  7. Considering some of the Knoebels family lives in a house in the middle of the park, and the park is still managed and owned by Knoebels. Yes, I'd say it's completely "mom & pop". Considering this is a multi million dollar operation, employs the most people in the county and a wide radius, they continue to expand, and let's face it, the Knoebel family has money. They really could do a lot of things with that park but just want to create a persona for the park that they have continued to keep attached to it for years and years.
  8. Larson has been doing a great job of selling flying scooters for sure.
  9. Is Knoebels realy to be considered a "little mom & pop" park though, really?
  10. Very "Dorney" addition. I like it for the park.
  11. Except that MA is owned by Cedar Fair, and CF seems to be fairly consistent between parks. The other flyers (Carowinds) are 48" alone, but anyone under is allowed to ride when accompanied by a responsible adult. So I would assume the flyers will allow shorter riders with an adult (as do most of the classic spinning rides, i.e. Calypso, Super Himalaya, Ocean Motion, Troika, Matterhorn, etc.). Surf Dog at KI looks like they require 44" to ride at all. Better than 46" but still seems a bit high. I guess they use the term "responsible adult" loosely.
  12. http://southwhitehall.patch.com/groups/business-news/p/dorney-park--wildwater-kingdom-to-add-multimillion-dollar-water-park-addition
  13. ^ The lift motor was sent down to Maryland for repairs. If they are unable to repair, they do not have a spare, and will need to order one and the ride will not open for the rest of the year. If they are able to repair it then they should be able to reopen in September. Also, there are always cranes and such in the area behind Kingda Ka so I don't really see why it is so newsworthy.
  14. I'm hearing 2015 for the new coaster with Dino's being removed for it. The land clearing of the new land will be partial parking and is making room for the new coaster.
  15. Same! That's why as soon as I saw him I wanted my picture! Hopefully they'll make walk around characters of them someday! And maybe build the "Duff Beeramid." I would greatly prefer the Springfield Tire Fire.
  16. You would think Zierer would have given them a discount considering the situation. Freakin' Germans
  17. NFC: East - Washington North - Green Bay South - New Orleans West - Seattle Wild Cards - Atlanta/San Fran NFC Championship - Seattle over SF AFC: East - New England North - Baltimore South - Houston West - Denver Wild Cards - Cincinnati/San Diego AFC Championship - Denver over Cincinnati Super Bowl: Seattle over Denver
  18. I just got a round trip Philly to San Jose for $285.....
  19. I second this. Motion to close the thread.
  20. I think I would be happy with an 8-8 campaign from the Redskins this year. That out of division schedule is brutal, and I don't see them going 5-1 in the division again this year.
