  1. Walter Bollinger - "We build what we like to build. If you don't like it, go @#%* yourself." It's a really good thing what they like to build kicks some major ass.
  2. Wood coaster companies are not going to build large amounts of projects every year. Sometimes there will be an "off" year or two with 1 or 2 projects here and there. Gravity Group is still firmly "in the game".
  3. Most booths serve some kind of beverage... especially later in the day when business turns more social (the last hour is usually the best...!). . I wouldn't say most, but a lot of the major ones do. I believe Premier was the first one to do this at this show about 10 years back, and then a lot of others followed suit. Premier and Intamin have a really nice offering of drinks.
  4. A bunch of rich, white Republicans are promoting socialism?
  5. Missing IAAPA this year because of a broken hand. Sucks..... I hope everyone that is there enjoys and I will see you all next year!!!
  6. Accesso has been a ticketing force for a long time now. They really know how to get it done.
  7. Queuing and ticketing solutions firm Lo-Q (LON:LOQ) is to change its name to accesso TechnologyGroup. The change reflects the company's expanded capabilities and expertise gained when it acquired the privately-held ticketing technology and e-commerce firm accesso LLC in late 2012. Since the acquisition, Lo-Q has offered two different product lines under separate brands: Lo-Q and accesso. The board has decided the time has come to operate under a single name, and seeing as Americans prefer to "stand in line" rather than to queue, the Accesso brand has won out. The change of name will result in a change of ticker symbol from LON:LOQ to LON:ACSO. "The acquisition of Accesso in 2012 was transformational to our business and the technology, operations and sales synergies from the acquisition are surpassing our original expectations," revealed Tom Burnet, chief executive officer of the fast-growing AIM-listed company. "Rebranding under the Accesso banner creates a unifying umbrella brand for our products, and defines our core business well: helping theme parks and venues access technologies that optimise the guest experience and grow revenue. "We believe that the new name clearly encapsulates what the company aspires to be, and gives us greater flexibility to enter new markets, make future acquisitions and diversify our operations around the world," he added. Shares in the company are up 89% over the last year. The company is set to give a trading update on 12 November, the same day the name change becomes effective. http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/62894/lo-q-to-change-name-to-accesso-technologies-62894.html
  8. Has been said, but just want to say it is a huge chain.
  9. This is a major bump but I figured I would posy this here: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/thunder-s-angels-needs-you-/100287
  10. If that is what was expected, then why was everyone piling on Knoebels about it not opening and such?
  11. ^ A roller coaster can break down at any point of time, anywhere. It is just the fact that 3 and 4 train operation on this right causes higher than normal stops in the ride. This fits right in with ADA standards.
  12. Over the next two weekends I will be doing Field of Screams near Lancaster, PA www.fieldofscreams.com and Valley of Fear www.valleyoffear.com
  13. 1. Seahawks 2. Colts 3. Broncos 4. Saints 5. 49er's 6. Chiefs
  14. So what does everyone think about the shooting at Bally's?
  15. Sure. Keep checking back! Remember, charity charity charity!!!!
  16. First item to bid is a completely unused, never before worn 2010 IAAPA Charity Golf Tournament golf shirt. As you can see it has the Give Kids The World logo and IAAPA logo on the sleeve. It is a size L. Bidding will close Friday 10/25/13 at 12PM Eastern. Let's start the bidding at $5.00.
  17. So I am cleaning out my amusement closet. I've decided to grow up, just a little at least, and I need some space to grow my business wardrobe. Well, all of the amusement stuff has to go, and what better way to do it than send it all to new loving homes, and help non-profits at the same time??? Over the next few months (or however long it takes and this thread stays popular) I will post an item to auction off. You can post a comment to bid with the price you would like to pay for the item. The highest bid will win. Pretty simple. PROCEEDS WILL GO TO GIVE KIDS THE WORLD VILLAGE AND THE NATIONAL ROLLER COASTER MUSEUM I will post when the bidding for the item will be over and I will stop the bidding at that time and announce the winner. I will then PM the person who won to get payment and send to their mailing address. BONUS: SHIPPING IS ON ME!!!!! SO ALL THE MORE REASON TO BID AWAY! Again, PROCEEDS WILL GO TO GIVE KIDS THE WORLD VILLAGE AND THE NATIONAL ROLLER COASTER MUSEUM!!!
  18. That was Mike Boodley who was there watching over everything.
  19. It is definitely a very good little ride. I was very impressed.
  20. What a great looking ticket for that ride (:
  21. The really sad thing is that Gwazi is such an interesting ride, and it really is kind of beautiful. I would put a Top 5 at something like this: 1. Son of Beast 2. Drachen Fire 3. Hypersonic XLC 4. Gwazi 5. Flying Turns
  22. The park currently has a job posting up for Director of Operations if anyone is interested.
  23. ^ Indianapolis Population (2011) - 836,924 Denver Population (2011) - 619,968 Nice report!
  24. Obviously they are not going to be literal walk-on's all the time. But I think that is close enough to constitute walk-on status. Just about anything you can walk into the station, or close to it, and only wait a few minutes to get on is pretty close to a walk-on.
