  1. Out of all of the decisions that have been made at this park over the years, this is by far the most disappointing for me. There is a ton of potential over there. Heck, even if they just opened it up just so there is another route to get over to MovieTown that would be great. I really liked the feel of the area walking through there. It was like old Great Adventure, and now it is all closed off. It is really disappointing.
  2. You will really like it. It is very well done. I think it is worth it to do it once. I have done other Christmas drive through / sleigh ride type things, and Hershey does a nice job. Not the best I have ever seen, but I think it is worth it.
  3. I think they look comfy. When I first opened this thread I was thinking it was going to be a discussion about putting advertisements on the way up a lift hill. I thought that would be pretty interesting. It is like the last non-commercial spot in parks these days. "Snickers asks you to keep your hands inside the train at all times." "Enjoy the ride. Sponsored by Nissan."
  4. Quoted for truth and emphasis. And the fact that Larry stole my line.
  5. Only if I could do a 20 year payment plan and not have them suspend my account and put it in collections if I accidentally miss just one payment.
  6. It's almost 2014 and we are still talking about the restraints on this ride???
  7. ^ Since when does anyone ever listen to what PETA has to say? Real life Rock'em Sock'em Robots? Sign me up.
  8. This really does look interesting. I really hope to get out to Vegas this year in order to ride it.
  9. ^ If you are looking for a great drink check out the margaritas at Fish Bones. Those things are good. That being said, I love this freakin' place. I make sure I go every time I am in Orlando. I'm not a huge fan of the food to be honest (I am limited as to what I would eat there) but I love the atmosphere.
  10. Dude, insane report!!! I had fun just looking at the pictures. I can't imagine how much fun you guys actually had doing it!
  11. All is now right in the world.
  12. I'm a little surprised this thread died so quickly. Is there really no more excitement over the new GCI and Gravity Group installations? Anything else? I'm shocked, and a little confused.....
  13. SEAN Establishing trust is the most important component in making breakthroughs with a patient. Why Maureen? MAUREEN'S only response is an empty stare. SEAN Keep up the good work, Maureen. Vinnie? VINNIE Because trust, trust is life. Oh Great Wall of China? I thought you said Good Will Hunting...... Sorry.
  14. I'm glad this topic is here. It is really helping my planning for both work and for FUN! Let's see.... If anyone cares I will put a (*) for a new park of mine. Dorney Park Six Flags Great Adventure DelGrosso's Lakemont Park Kennywood Waldameer Dutch Wonderland Knoebels Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk California's Great America Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Fun Spot America (*) Six Flags Magic Mountain (*) Sea World San Diego (*) Knott's Berry Farm (*) Elitch Gardens Lakewood Amusement Park (*) Lagoon Park Castle's & Coasters
  15. I think the days of a huge outdoor section are long behind us. For flat rides, there is the IISF show ("Gibtown") in February for them to exhibit flat rides for the U.S. market. Then there is also the Euro Attractions show and Asian Attractions Expo to sell to international markets. Yeah but Gibtown is really just for carnies. Robb - You guys should totally do a Gibtown report this year. People would go wild for it. It's a different world there.
  16. If you haven't ridden Gold Striker do it now. Like tomorrow. Break into the park, and ride it tomorrow. Just tell the cops I said it was ok.
  17. The show is currently up to 28,000 registrants according to today's IAAPA Today email. From what I remember that is slightly down from years past. Hopefully people take advantage of the Friday special and there are some additional people on the floor tomorrow.
  18. I don't know how long NASCAR races are, but just having football and NASCAR in the same sentence made me cringe.
  19. ^ Just because they say that doesn't necessarily mean they are talking about a conversion.
  20. Windish has a pretty good act on their label called Junk Rock, who I have gotten to know over the past couple of years at the Pennsylvania Fair Association show. Good group of guys. They will probably get a lot of good bookings from IAAPA.
  21. Ladies (and interested Gentlemen) I would like to announce the Robb Alvey Groupie PolerCoaster Fan Club. You can join for a low low price of just $195.99 a year. Please PM me for more information. I really think this is going to take off. The first 1,000 PM's can join. It is a strict cut off! PM ME NOW!!!
  22. Gee, I'm soooooo sorry. I only spent 10 hours at a show interviewing 19 people and editing and rendering until 3am last night. If you don't like it, you're more than welcome to go to IAAPA and make your own damn videos. --Robb "I really hate people, sometimes." Alvey Robb - I loved the video this year. It was packed with a lot of great stuff, and your coverage of the show is so detailed. Great job as always. Besides, the show is like THE SAME EVERY YEAR. Why do people want 15 minute interviews with everyone saying the same things every year?
