  1. Whenever I see a Trip Report with a picture of El Toro (or any Intamin Prefab), I'm like "why the hell aren't there more of these things?"
  2. Ha--well, he was at BGW recently... I'm still holding out small hope for a woodie, Kings Mill dwellers be damned (except for my Aunt and Uncle, of course)!
  3. ^Just for clarification--when you say Intamin "terra" does that include coasters like Maverick and iSpeed? I would definitely be down for a launch coaster into the woods!
  4. ^If they're light on a Sunday then maybe I'll save my vacation day and go the same day! If you see a guy in a TPR Deep South/Texas shirt, that would be me.
  5. ^Sounds good! I'm going to ask for June 9th off from work tomorrow. It looks like it takes around 4 hours from Richmond to Hershey so I'll probably leave at around 6 or 7 in the morning. I'm not a big TR guy but I'll definitely report back some of my thoughts on the trip when I get back.
  6. Nice report! I always flip-flop on which dive machine I like more--Griffon or Sheikra. I need to get down to Florida to refresh my memory about Sheikra (plus I haven't ridden it with the floorless trains).
  7. Gary's just made me realize that I've been taking Slurpees for granted.
  8. ^Maybe you got the pink eye after someone else browned out?
  9. Cool to see Superman with a new paint job and now it looks like on the first drop you're not about to be covered in toxic waste! Are there no Slurpees in North Carolina?
  10. Raise your hand if you just googled "Mumbai". Me
  11. ^ Yep! That was the station for Drachen Fire!
  12. I see interesting things in this thread's future.
  13. Dominator is still looking good!
  14. Ha--my friend was sending me video links of Shark Attack 3 last week. I knew I had to own it. So I went to Amazon and it's OUT OF PRINT! I didn't know it had official film status on here. If I can get a copy of Shark Attack 3 with my Club TPR membership, you'll have my money by end of business day Wednesday.
  15. I have only ridden it once and it seemed really slow. Plus the trims kill all the spots where I expected airtime. They even have a trim on the drop and in the rosebowl. I was there on opening day last year, so it might not have been fully awake yet, but it wasn't pleasent and it wasn't very fast. Yeah, I've heard that it's been neutered through the years. I hear it can still give a good night ride though.
  16. I say go for Johnny Rockets for food. I always feel ripped off when I get Papa John's from a Six Flags park. I mean, obviously, you're going to pay through the nose but somehow it's more acceptable with Johnny.
  17. ^Thanks! I can't wait to go to KI at some point. I've wanted to ride Beast ever since I first heard about it when I was 4 or 5. I know it probably isn't as epic as it was when I was 5 but I still look forward to it!
  18. I've never been to Kings Island. Where on the map would SoB be located near?
  19. My friend and I want to hit this park up for the first time as well. So it sounds like it would be a good plan to go on a Wednesday in early June.
  20. Still gotta go with El Toro. I305 is my favorite steel though!
  21. I need to make my own trip to Cedar Point at some point. Why do all your rides have to hate fat people? Cedar Point is my only reason that I continue to diet and exercise. Glad you enjoyed Intimidator! I need to get on the ball, lose some weight, and go experience the original giga!
  22. I noticed that too. Every year I go to KD I find something else to make me a little sadder when I ride Grizzly. I thought the ride itself was great today. Not as rough as when I rode it last in 2008.
  23. Hey folks! Just got back from KD about an hour or so ago. I was actually not impressed after my first ride (which was in the middle, more towards the front) but 10 rides on it later, I definitely have a new #1 steel and it's neck and neck with El Toro for #1 overall. I would have ridden it more but my friend hasn't been to KD since Flight of Fear was new so we had to do some other rides as well. I was not too happy about the assigned seating but I still was able to ride once in the front and once in the back. Both were awesome, front for the first drop and sense of speed and back for feeling the various forces the ride puts you through. I really can't decide which one I liked more. As for my initial disappointment I chalk it up to lousy seating and the track not being "warmed up". It's so awesome having this coaster 20 minutes from where I live. Other notes... Crowds were pretty light today for the holiday, I guess. Hurler, Shockwave, and the log flume weren't running. Got a great ride in on Grizzly (my friend disagreed) after being turned away for it being down for some reason. Dominator broke down at least 3 times. Volcano broke down at least twice. I got two good rides in on each though. Also rode Ricochet and Backlot Stunt Coaster--each ride was a standard run. 305 was my 125th credit. Now...for my "bag of crap" (I don't do Trip Reports, photo or otherwise, just yet, and these were taken with my 2MP camera phone.)... I swear it says Theme Park Review right above my man boob! That there's a big coaster...
  24. Hey KD, You seemed a little underwhelmed (disappointed?) when 305 was first announced. So were you pleasantly surprised and are you satisfied with how the ride turned out?
