  1. So this is my first time actually posting on Theme Park Review, but i found it necessary to share my experience and photos from this amazing trip we had this past weekend. Me and my fellow co-workers from Cedar Point decided to take a road trip to check out the opening of Intimidator 305! We left thursday night at around 10:00 p.m. drove through the night, arriving at the park gates at around 7:00 a.m. This made us the first car to be outside the tolls for opening. We were all too excited to sleep, we have been waiting for this since i305 was announced, so instead of taking a quick cat nap outside the tolls we hung out in anticipation for the day to begin. Once we were allowed into the park we were at the front of the general admission to get to i305, had some nice conversation with the security guard Derek aka Kenny (name tag machine was down he said so he had Kenny on his hard plastic name tag). Now the problem we had was that they had one security guard to walk this large group of people over to i305 and they were expecting him to handle everyone , well that didn't happen as planned and everyone began to run. Once we got to i305 we waited from right outside the tunnel, and all looked at it in awe. It truly is a gorgeous ride they have at that park. After about 30 minutes, yeah they had the line moving for sure, we got one in the back of the train, last three rows to be exact, but what happens as soon as we sit down, TROUBLE LIGHT! thankfully it was as simple as moving the train into position in the waiting brakes and sending us on our way. Now for our first ride experience.... Due to the fact that we were the first train to be sent after a trouble light, the lift went slower than usual. We kept watching the trains fly up that hill all day and were confused as to why it seemed like it took forever to get up to the 305 ft top hat. So anyways we had been pre-warned that a lot of people were blacking out after the first drop of 300 ft. going into the first turn, thankfully I didn't black out and I got to enjoy the 94 mph speed turn 5 ft. above the ground, but everyone else in my group had blacked out themselves. Going over the second hill in the last row gave some amazing floater airtime for us, and then the rest of the ride it was out of my seat ejector airtime quick maverick like turns and then the trimmed airtime hill. The trimmed airtime hill killed our airtime in the back of the train and none of us even knew there were trims on that hill so we were all surprised by that factor. When we came into the brake run, I couldn't believe what i just went through! The first words out of my mouth were "New Number One!!!!", which if you look at my screen name you can tell that Millennium Force had been my favorite coaster before i305. Later on we were able to get a chance to ride in the front half of the train which is A LOT better than the back half of the train. In the front half of the train we experienced EXTREME EJECTOR AIRTIME, and even quicker transitions. I can definitely say from experience that the back half of the train and the front half of the train are to complete different experiences, I mean in the front half of the train you are still thrown out of your seat on the trimmed airtime hill, unlike the back that just give you a little pop on that hill. My favorite seat I rode in would have to be row 2 for sure, overall we got 4 rides on i305, including two night time rides in the pitch dark! Which is a definite recommendation to ride it at night, you cant see a thing after the first drop and it intensifies the ride so much! As for the rest of the park... Everything seemed to be operating slow and inefficient, the shortest line for a coaster we experienced was in fact i305, which we found to be odd for it being the brand new coaster of the year. We got a ride on Dominator after waiting nearly 2 hours, The Crypt (when compared to Kings Islands version is AMAZING) after waiting about 20 minutes, Anaconda with a 40 minute wait, and Volcano: The Blast Coaster which we waited nearly an 1 1/2 hours, with downtime and everyone leaving from the queue house and putting us straight in the station for them to go to a one train operation. Overall we had a good day at the park, and surprisingly no one got tired after pulling all nighters with driving 8 hours and waiting nearly 4 hours for our first adrenaline rush of the 2010 season. We also ran into Robb and had a good talk with him for about 30 minutes or so about i305, working at Cedar Point, working in the Amusement Industry and staying a kid for the rest of our lifes! HAHA! Robb truly is a great guy, and i appreciate everything he has done for this site! He was so friendly and happy to have a chat with us. Although it was funny when he was talking about how i305 craps on Millennium Force then I had to mention that we actually work on Millennium Force, well some of us do, haha. But i completely understand where Robb was coming from with that statement, and I actually have to agree that i305 is in its own league compared to Millennium Force, and it is for sure in the higher league! So now its time for some pictures of Kings Dominion and their new beast Intimidator 305! ENJOY! -Eric First up is this sign we saw as we pulled into a janky gas station in the middle of nowhere, yeah didnt give us the creeps at all! haha! Our first site of i305, hidden behind the Eiffel Tower, she looks soooo sexual! Dominator during the sun rise! ohhhh PRETTY!! Yeah its taunting us to ride, but its only about 7:30am! This is me and my friend Ashley waiting outside the gates before tolls at around 7:30 am in the morning! HAHAH! They wanted to ride dominator as it was testing, can you tell we got bored! The group waiting outside the roped off area to get to i305 when it opens at 10:30 am. OHHH PRETTY!!! WE ARE HERE FINALLY!!! GORGEOUS SHE IS! IM IN AWE! My new favorite roller coaster!! Most amazing looking lift ever created in my opinion! A I R T I M E!!!!! Gotta give Dominator some love too! Waiting in the extremely long line compared to i305 for Dominator Cobra Roll Goodness!! As ride hosts we actually think this is a BRILLIANT idea they have going for them! Best Vertical Loop EVER!! Interlocking Corkscrews!! WeEeEeEeEeEeEeE!!!! WE get bored in lines and take pictures like this! HAHA! Train going up the sexy lift hill of hers! Poor Shockwave wasn't operating, but I will be back in June to take it on! AMAZING AIRTIME HILL! And Dominator was Lift Stopped for a scared guest at this moment, front row is part of our group and we didnt now until we meet up with them later! haha! all they got were free cups of WATER!! Back to i305 This is where i start screaming HOLY S*** only because its THAT AMAZING!! or as Robb says himself its TWISTY TWISTY TWISTY!!! LOL! I loved how steep the brake run was! Such an INCREDIBLE ride for sure! I fell in love at first ride! Train returning with extremely happy riders! This was a fail of a Low Zone lock out at Volcano, Thats right it was NOT locked! waiting in line during i305 downtime at the end of the night, we weren't mad it gave us the chance to ride in the pitch black night! I cant get over the sexualness of this lift hill!! OHHHHHH Pretty Lights! What a Great way to start our Coaster Season!! We had a blast riding i305 on Opening day and I can't wait to return for some more rides in June! Lastly we have my On-Ride picture, This is our first ride on i305, we rode last row and I chose park side, so no stairs, and as you can see I'm loving every moment of this ride! GET TO KINGS DOMINION A.S.A.P. AND TRY OUT INTIMIDATOR 305 FOR YOURSELF!!
  2. Quick question, if you hve been on a trip previously do you get excluded from the lottery and get to go no matter what? i keep hearing people talk about it, so i was just curious if this were true or if everyone will be in the lottery, if there is a lottery. Thank You!
  3. If your 17 you can go without a parent or guardian, but you have to be preapproved by TPR. Straight from the flyer...
  4. Thank You Robb and Elissa, can't wait for the trip, I will be putting in my deposit A.S.A.P.
  5. So just double checking so i fully understand, its first come first serve for those who have already been on a trip, and for the noobs it doesn't matter when you send in your deposit just as long as its before the deadline? Thank You for clearing that up!
  6. Ok i just read all ten pages, and just wanted to check something. Does sending in your deposit secure your spot in the trip. I was wondering because i can't really get the money for the deposit until September 21st, but if sending it in earlier secures my spot then i will put some other things off till then. Thank you, can't wait for the trip!
  7. Rode Maverick for the first time on the 19th, and all i can say is WOW! i rode it 3 times, and it rained for three hours that day! The first time i waited about 3 1/2 hours with about 45 mins of breakdown, and 30 mins of rain. The second and third time i waited about 45 mins each, and the third time there was 15 mins of breakdown. I have to say that the front seat is the best, the back is a little to forceful for me, i had more head banging in the back, still nothing compared to corkscrew, but some. The crew is amazing, they really keep the line moving GREAT! when the ride was running i never stood still for more than 30 seconds! John i looked for you but couldn't find you, LOL! But GREAT JOB! KEEP IT UP!
  8. it still works for me ??? thats wierd?! Ahh you beat me to it^
