  1. Ooooo. We can make a trip to Busch Gardens as well!
  2. I've ridden Titan so after Sunday I'll try to provide somewhat of a comparison for you.
  3. Sounds like I better get at least one ride in soon before KD dials back the settings to prevent all the graying out!
  4. Maybe we should swap where we live. I want to do all the parks in Missouri at some point!
  5. I'm really excited for this ride. My initial worry about it being too short looks to be valid but if it's as intense as it seems then maybe it's just the right amount of time for this ride. So, people who have ridden it... Satisfied with the air time?
  6. If I make it up there on Friday it won't be until around 6 pm or so. I just want to process my pass and sneak in a ride or two.
  7. I might drive up there after work on Friday April 2nd. If I wear my TPR Texas shirt and have a Talking BBQ Fork, do I get extra crap in my bag? If anyone's willing to meet up on that Friday PM me. Most of my friends don't really care about coasters.
  8. Awesome report, Gary! Can't wait to make it down there to try out Intimidator (and Carolina Cobra)!
  9. Spring is here and I'm getting out of winter hibernation mode. This means more frivolous/puff posts on roller coaster forums and fewer ones on college basketball forums (which may be a good thing since my team sucked and didn't even make the NCAA tourney). Anyway, I need to get in roller coaster mood (and shape) and I'll definitely be making the 20-minute drive up to KD in either April or May. On my way up to Fredericksburg for work I've made a few stop-ins to look at progress on I305 the past 5 months and frankly couldn't discern much except for when they topped off. Restraints or no restraints, I'm riding this thing and nobody can stop me. (Unless of course, I'm too fat to ride).
  10. If SFKK was hiring a bunch of potential problem kids then maybe I'm glad I never made it there.
  11. I tried to ride SROS at SFA and couldn't quite get the restraint to lower all the way for a safe dispatch (case of big ol' thighs). I tried to ride again without my shoes on and it gave me the extra room for me to ride.
  12. Agreed - drop Mitch an email to say thank you for all the hard work. He may appreciate it. wcoasterpoll@yahoo.com --Robb Done!
  13. I always scoff when the Richmond area gets forecast for snow. I was wrong.
  14. Woo-hoo! Can't wait to make it out there!
  15. I haven't been following construction for awhile so I was pleasantly surprised to see the lift hill complete when I drove by KD this afternoon!
  16. I just did a Google Maps and Niagara Falls should be doable on that trip from Cedar Point to Boston. You might want to consider stopping off at Six Flags New England just for Bizarro/Superman--considered to be the #1 steel by many people. It also falls along that leg of your trip.
  17. Apollo's Chariot on August 29! It was right after I got my last two rides in on BBW
  18. Hopefully the "me trying to ride the Flow Rider" debacle pics will be omitted! Loved the pics and the memories brought back!
  19. Oooo--someone pulled the El toro card. Ignore my post.
  20. If you can't get a Flash Pass I probably wouldn't go. Local people would probably do better to fill you in but I seem to remember reports of Saturdays in the fall being crazy with crowds.
  21. ^Interesting. My experience on Alpengeist was pretty much a non-issue. Or maybe he just didn't want to switch me to the Big Boy seats!
  22. I went today (Saturday) and had a fun time without a Quick Queue. I arrived at around 4:30 in the afternoon though. I'd definitely go out of your way for BG. While I haven't been to as many parks as a lot of people on this site, it still remains one of my top 5 parks. Get your thrills at Great Adventure and enjoy the scenery and atmosphere at BG!
  23. If you think you might be a "guest of exceptional size", Alpengeist and Griffon have "big-boy" seats. My weight kind of fluctuates but in recent years I've only been turned away from Apollo's Chariot but that depends on the ride op. On the plus side, if you do get turned away they may give you a front-of-the-line pass which allows you to enter a ride from the exit (I used mine on Griffon). I just got back tonight and I was thinking I'd get turned away on AC but I think I got on it with only "1 click". I'm about 6'2 and 285 for comparison's sake. I was able to fit on a regular seat on Alpie with a little help with the seatbelt from a ride op. Griffon gave me no trouble. You should be fine on BBW and LNM. Haven't been to KD since last year but the only ride that might be a problem is Flight of Fear as I've gotten turned away on that before. I guess it really depends on where you carry your weight, as my thighs and upper legs are monstrous. Good luck and I hope you have fun!
