  1. My favorite mazes of all time: Factory of Terror (Fall River, MA, USA)Run (HHN XI) Scary Tales (XI) Pitch Black (XI) and Horror Night Nightmares (XIV) Best maze so far this year- Run: Hostile Territory (HHN XVI)
  2. Wow. It sucks to hear the news but even worse to see the evidence. Ouch. I loved FC
  3. Brilliant work, can't wait to see The Mummy and MIB buildings.
  4. I love the aerial photo showing the entire layout. Won't be long now until the trains arrive.
  5. Woohoo! Trackage! I'm pretty sure that rules out a Spiderman theme, the colors are actually kind of neat.
  6. I try to avoid typical theme park food at all costs so better choices sounds good to me. I remember this past May buying a pineapple spear from Adventureland (DLR) instead of a churro/etc. Wish more places did this...
  7. I've never seen DP crowded and I've gone about 6 times during 6 different years. A week after Hydra opened even the front seat was a walkon!
  8. The Shield Family Guy Nip/Tuck My three faves in that order.
  9. Wooo, glad to hear it will still have that new coaster shine! I figured it was just the lens or something. After just riding SheiKra again a couple weeks ago it's hard to imagine the awesomeness of the floorless trains and airtime added to it.
  10. I agree the newer version doesn't look as well detailed as the Florida version but the layout/unique elements were definately there. I for one, would rather see a Supersplash in the US than a clone of the Orlando ride. Embrace the idea of original rides with identical names!
  11. I figured I'd start my own thread for this since I can update it, etc... As some of you have seen from the 'backyard haunts' thread I have been working on a "haunted" trail through the woods behind my house since the beginning of the month as I do every year. Today, significant progress was made so I figured I'd start a thread to document "The Terror Trail" (formerly called 'The Feargrounds') from now until opening night. Today I was able to do a lot of work on my existing scenes as well as plan new ones. I set up about half of the total props I will be using for a rehersal and to make sure the electronics were running properly. Don't know why I bothered making a sign... Chances are people will be running too fast to notice it. Chillin' in my hiding spot in the "Industrial Nightmare" scene. It's all about the details, people. "Industrial Nightmare" will house most of the electronic special effects including strobe lighting. "Love Stinks" Gonna have to hide you a little better... Looking down the last segment of the trail. The Chop Shop Don't worry, there will be plenty of blood added by Halloween night. ARGHHH!!! GIMME SOME CANDY!! After "Arachnophobia" it's through the "bat cave" and down the long rear trail. Looking back at the entrance. This broken tree will be covered with webs and spiders. I hope to have an actor man a hiding spot in this area. We'll leave him out for a bit to get weathered for Halloween... Another view of the entry curtain. The entry with skulls mounted on the tree branches.
  12. I like screamin' swings, and love themed rides so I think this is a great addition. Maybe I can squeeze SDC in next year so I can finally see Wildfire.
  13. I have a "Fog FX" brand fogger with a remote timer. About 30 bucks well spent.
  14. Yay, for involuntary smileys! I am also a big fan of flat rides, I've been on tons of them, here's a list of most of the good ones I've been on. Huss Giant Frisbee Huss Giant Top Spin Huss Top Spin Huss Suspended Top Spin Huss Frisbee Huss Magic KMG Tango KMG Freakout KMG Afterbruner Mondial Top Scan Mondial Supernova Moser Top Star Tour Moser Gravity Tower Moser Super Loop On Top Zamperla Power Surge Zamperla Disk'O
  15. I loved Whalom Park even though I only visited twice. The Flyer Comet's tunnel is still one of my favorite coaster moments to this day. Very sad, but very inevitable.
  16. I do a trail every year. It's important to incorporate as many senses as you can to make the experience as real as possible. Visual-Even the simplest prop can be enhanced by its placement and some detailing. Touch-Hang things from the ceiling that people will have to push/walk through, tattered curtains, strings, spider webs, severed body parts work well... Sound-Make an original soundtrack for your haunt to set the mood. Taste/Smell-You may not want to touch this one, Universal are the only ones that can pull it off as of yet, IMO.
  17. Nice TR, wish our midways were that nice. The Tango does come through with the Brockton Fair but the "Experience" would be awesome.
  18. Yeah, I definately saw some of the staff wearing black t-shirts with that graphic on them. Isn't it cool? Can't believe I missed robosaurus... and two of the mazes. I agree, the crowds seem really bad this year, they were awful on only the second night, nevermind now when they're in full swing.
  19. Yay for vertical construction! Thank you for the update. The colors are just so awesome.
  20. I remember seeing these images a while back, hope they actually go ahead and build one of those monster drop rides on the side of the tower. Would this be the tallest freefall to date if constructed?
  21. LMAO at Creepy Naked Mario! I'm gonna wait till March to get my Wii, for the new Sonic game.
  22. Update for Friday the 13th... *Did some minor constructing of path boundaries and "actor" hiding spot. *Hung curtain transitions. *Began work of hiding power cords, routing to effects locations. The exit area. A scare room. An actor will jump at you through the tear. Arachnobia will house the strobe light, making the many spiders in this area appear to jump out at you. Dangling strings and webs will be used here. The Cemetary/Arachnophobia transition. In the dark surrounded by "spiders" this curtain isn't going to feel too appealing...
  23. "Dino Encounter" was what ended up being "Triceratops Encounter" and since they just recently closed it I doubt they have plans to reopen it. Maybe they'll use the land it opened up for part of a new attraction?
  24. Unfortunately I doubt we'll ever see the Jeep Tours made since DAK opened "Dinosaur"/Countdown To Extinction. One can only hope.
  25. There was a followup on this image disaster on Screamscape today, as expected (and can you blame them...) Disney is super pissed! http://www.screamscape.com/html/disneyland_paris.htm
