  1. Here's one! Probably easy.. but I'll work harder on the next one.
  2. Apparently Fairview is no where near as good as the other course where the country club is.. I wouldnt know though thats just what I hear.. I recommend the mini golf at Adventure Sports Anyways, 130 acres is a hugeeee amount of land. Even if they only use half of that for park expansion it's still a nice chunk. I would think they'd use some for widening the road behind the parking lot, and adding a new lot. Then they could use the area closer to the park for an expansion of some type. The township hates the idea of water so I wouldnt expect it to be water related.. Maybe a new resort? Here's a map courtesy of Google Earth: Lots of room!
  3. That would be depressing.. I love the Adventurers club! At least they will spare the comedy club. I worked at Disney a few years ago when you had to pay to get into PI.. I went back there in August and I was really disillusioned when I saw what it has turned into now that you can just walk in. My number one problem is that they force you to walk through PI.. so if families go down and want to go to the West End from the Marketplace they have to take their young kids thru the loud music and the crowds of drunks and hardly dressed girls or CM's in little skirts on stilts that you limbo between which I'm not complaining about, but I wouldnt want my young kids around all that. They had CM's there making sure people dont use the other walkways around PI. I dunno, it just feels like PI lost a lot of the Disney clean cut feel to it. Which isn't always a bad thing, but they should try to appeal more to where their money is, families, and not teens/20's like Universal. So, I guess I saw something like this coming. But we'll see if it actually happens. I dont think its necessarily a bad thing, I just think the Adventurer's club should stay! Eric
  4. I talked to my friend last night and she said that there arent dates yet, but Dragons is going to be closed for approx. two weeks in January. So you should be all good! Eric
  5. I know Dragons is either down or going down for painting soon. If I talk to anyone there soon I'll let you know. Eric
  6. Awesome game last night! Although I'm too poor to afford tickets, I was stuck in the pre game gridlock trying to get across the river to get to my g/f's house in Oakland and watch the game.. even though I can see Heinz Field from my apartment.. oh well.. Go Steelers!!
  7. Dude... Ouch.. seriously. Did it hurt right away or did you see blood pouring out first? *BLAHHH* Eric
  8. On the chocolate tour you can smell chocolate. Maybe they are going to use the same "crockpot of chocolate with fan blowing" effect? It'd be cool if they incorporated smell though somehow. Doesnt have to be chocolate, could be more like a pine if your snowboarding or whatever. Anyone see the "video tour" yet? Edit: I just watched the tour. Looks like too many cardboard cutouts for my taste. I'd rather shoot up It's a Small World Eric
  9. Well, it couldve been worse! Actually I think its a pretty cool idea and it will definately be a hugeeee hit at Hersheypark. I like the Reeses theme way better than a Nascar one, and there is a ton of cool things they could pull off with all the sports they are representing. I'm wondering what the "video tour" is all about, havent been able to click on it yet. Eric
  10. Was he eating "Chicken Sha Cha in Peanut Sauce" from China!?! If it is.. Im so jealous. I must've spent $50 on that the last two F&W's when I was down there.. Drooool. Eric
  11. Hmm.. well the old ice rink (not the arena) were torn down along with the first aid and rides office building adjacent to it. The rumor (if you can call it that anymore) is a dark ride where you'll be shooting at something. Sort of like MIB or Buzz Lightyear style. I say its not much of a rumor because "we're keeping you in the dark" and it has a laser making the words on the teaser. We'll see in less than a week though! Eric
  12. Great TR! Poor Angels.. Anyways, at Dragons we used to be very strict abouto cameras/cell phones because we didnt want anyone to drop something at a duel point and hit people on the other train. Not really sure what the deal would be on Silver Bullet though! Everytime I ride Storm Runner and you go over the top hat there is alwayyyssss loose change "floating". Poor Robb and Elissa are at near celebrity status! Eric
  13. I worked for Disney back in 2003 for the College Program. It was a GREAT experience so I know you'll love it. It sounds like you are doing the college program anyways. Since you're an international student you'd be living at "The Commons" which is a really awesome apartment complex. As long as your yourself for the interview and are honest and know a thing or two about the company you should be fine. I mean seriously.. I ended up as one of two CP's at the front desk of the Grand after they stopped putting CP's there a few years prior! I'd go back and do the program again in a heartbeat (and almost did this Jan) but I know it wouldn't be the same without the same roommates and everything. I was even talking to a friend this morning about how much we miss being down there! You dont make a lot of money but that's really NOT the point of the program! Keep us updated on everything! Eric
  14. Great TR! I walk under that "tailgating" bridge and by PNC on my way to class at the Art Institute. I can't believe they lost though.. Between that and the AWFUL PSU loss on Sat.. it was a very bad weekend. Eric
  15. Yeah its definately a small area.. however they did take out the rink and the buildings adjancent to it like the rides office and first aid and stuff so it *is* do-able if they take out Balloon Flight and Starship, which were just thrown in to fill in the Turbulence void. That's just wishful thinking though! I would really love to see a Spiderman/Darkcastle type ride in Hershey but Darkastle is said to have been more than $20 mil and Spiderman was way more than that (obviously as they invented the ride type/tech pretty much). Regardless of what type of ride it is, I think any dark ride is a great idea and its something that Hersheypark has lacked for many years... that and a freefall tower. Eric
  16. When Hershey sent out their season pass advertisements it also said "We're Keeping you in the dark for now" after it said "whats new for '06?" So we're probably looking at some sort of dark ride. Which is awesome! Unless its themed to Nascar... which would probably be like an IJ:ST type coaster that launches and goes into a neverending helix just like Nascar! Anyways, the annoucement is Oct 25th! I'm actually really happy the planning board shot down the 7 water rides that were going to be in Midway America or whatever. Especially since if Hershey is going to build a waterpark, it should be a seperate park IMO... or at least like a different area. The other thing they shot down was that restaurant/indoor waterpark/hotel that was being planned by some local people. I guess someone really hates water on that board. '07 is definately going to be an interesting year! Just by looking at the amount of rides that were shot down.. hopefully that money will be used for other attractions now Eric
  17. this was back when Nitro opened.. gotta love the backseat! My friend Lisa and I are looking at a park map and my other friend I guess is having an anurysm
  18. Wow! El Toro looks awesome!! So does the Voyage!! Why is everyone trying to make one "seem" better than the other because they are BOTH going to be amazing coasters. I'm more worried right now about finding time to get to both of these parks! But WOW.. does any park come close to having the amount of different coaster types that SFGAdv has? Strata, Hyper, Giga, Flying, Dark, Inverted, Wooden Out and Back Air Time Machine/Twister'ish thing with El Toro, "Racing", Mine train, Looper, launched, Floorless... etc.. thats insane if you ask me! Plus, they dont slack off that much with theming, they dont use Vekoma, and they make sure that the parking lots are at least 50 feet away . With a very decent looking wooden coaster I definately think SFGadv has one of the best (if not THE best) overall lineup in the world.. even better than Cedar Point.. *IMO*. Now all they have to do is get the operations aspect down which I hear is so bad.. however when I was there a few years ago during NITRO's first year I was actually blown away by the op's who were doing a really good job and even having fun with people in a good.. not SFA way Eric "who will once again buy a cheap SFA season pass and abuse it!" Geiple
  19. My friend is working at the Mines and she said that they are giving out mining helmets with lights on the top when you go in.. how freaky would that be?! I think that'd be a lot of helmets though so we'll see if that turns out to be true or not. Eric
  20. Yeah they do have some random things that drive around on them. I think the rumor that is on Screamscape would be about using the station for something. I remember seeing in one of the meeting rooms at B-114 (IOA Op's) a map that was the overall IOA half of Universal. On it, it had areas marked "Expansion Area".. one was where the Flying Unicorn is now, one by JP, and one back behind Cat where the corn field was last Horror Nights.. (among a couple others).. so maybe there is something big in the works? Eric
  21. Just wondering! I noticed out in Pittsburgh this week that they are "pop" people... however over here in my area of PA we are "soda" drinkers.. what are you?
  22. I havent done much talking about RCT3 because I hated it when it first came out. I got it off of some download service the day it came out and later found out that Atari didnt support that version so I ended up just getting a refund and I wasnt that all impressed with the game anyways. So, did they ever fix the problem where peeps just randomly stop riding rides? I remember building nice coasters (nothing extreme) and peeps would never get on it... or really anything for that matter. Did they fix that problem or is the game still just wowing people on overall looks and not about realism and how it plays? Eric
  23. Yeah, having worked there.. the explanation the techs and my supervisors gave me when I asked is because of the fact that Berry mentioned. If there was a true emergency on the ride and it had to be evacuated really quick, the only way to get people off would be to have cherry pickers to get people off. If there's a huge problem or a fire or something then that just isnt going to be fast enough.. so that's why. I doubt you'll ever see it in operation... Eric
  24. Thats really cool! It's a good effect. I think if you took out some of the flat rides and added trees over them or something it'd be more believeable. I stared at Goliath for a little in utter amazement.. then I noticed that it had that railing in the front. Eric
  25. Thanks. I was wondering if it was true about the ice rink so now we know! As far as Hersheypark Arena goes, I doubt they'll be demolishing that anytime soon. It houses the Hersheypark offices and they still use it a lot for small events like State High School championships and all that good stuff that the Giant Center is too big for. I dont know if any Hershey Bear or AHL fans are on the boards here, but I personally MISS the old arena! The Giant Center has no character. Eric
