Great update! I wonder if this years 'Tour of Dirt' at WCB will include a hard hat tour. I know we will be checking out Terminator, I'm just wondering how in depth. Chris. -

I think Big Mike's thread would be a fantastic reference for random unknown parks.... Chris. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

From where the line appears to enter the coaster site, I think there will be more than enough room for queing. It seems to me that, very much in the same way that Batman's line is laid out, there will be a ton of walking to be had from the midway to the actual station. Never mind the fact that there seems to be a ton of open space on the 'slab' for some switchbacks. Should it overflow, there are not really any other major attractions in the area so I don't even see that being a problem either. If it goes out to (map) left, its quite a ways from Deja Vu. If it goes out to (map) right, it has space to go allllll the way over to the go karts which is quite a distance also. Chris. -
Theme Park Review's 2008 Asia Tour!

why have I not been to japan yet? -
I know its not a taped dinner session, but for all that dont know, Chef Gordon Ramsey is the excecutive chef at The London hotel in Hollywood. I have a friend that works there and says that Mr Ramsey is the pain in the ass of a boss that you would expect him to be. But anyway, if you wanted to try his food, its available seven nights a week right here in So Cal. Chris.

At least they admit it, after all, the company is called "Cedar FAIR." Chris. -
What is your local park?
WFChris replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well I guess USH is the local park for all of us valley kids, but considering I've only been there once, and I've been to SFMM approximately a million times, I will go ahead an say that is my home park. Final answer Chris. -
Maybe they should have B&M redesign the trains? That worked once, didn't it? On that one smooth-as-glass wooden coaster up the 5? All joking aside, remember when Psyclone was good? I stood in a line that started at Roaring Rapids' exit. Ouch! I do miss the good Ghostrider, and of course, 'the drop.' That one night at the first solace, I think it was foggy, and they turned the lights off and it was pretty much a highlight in my roller coaster dork history. chris.

I'm jealous of all that space you have! I was not so lucky, except of course I did not have a driveway to clear. I just had the snow-then-rain ice solid berm behind the truck to chip away at. Yes, it snows in California!

Thats really too bad, Fresno will just continue to be that hole...thing...in the middle of California. Chris.

Ever had a black out on a coaster?
WFChris replied to Dark Vampire's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Goliath at SFMM on press day. OMG that thing was insane then! Was anybody on any of the trains where a wheel broke off in the helix? I was in the back car, I believe, and it was kind of scary. The reason they gave us was that they were 'phasing out a failed wheel design.' Not trying to change the subject though! But yeah Goliath before the Mid-Course STOP was way intense. Chris. -
I rode SOB without the loop this past summer with fairly low expectations, and it was easily the worst coaster experience of my life. I am fairly tolerant of pain (I MISS Flashback and Psyclone!) but SOB was totally ridiculous. Ghostrider last summer for me was rough but after riding SOB, it was fairly acceptable. I think the problem with SOB is the fact that your jackhammering at 85 miles an hour as opposed to 50 on Ghostrider. I agree that Ghostrider needs to be retracked, but I disagree with Wes's comment about going to the midwest. Sure, they HAVE some good coasters, but the majority of the woodies I rode were crap!!!! Sooo disappointed; perhaps it was the high expectations I had for CP and KI chris.

Splash Party - Vekoma's new coaster?
WFChris replied to AlmereStars's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've always wondered this with the Roller-Soakers, but if this is a 'financially feasable' option, I wonder how willing a water park would be to purchase one of these. In an area with Water Park markets, I think it could really push one ahead of the other in popularity! Chris. -
Worst Themed ride you have been on?
WFChris replied to kenshinmac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know Scream at SFMM is a popular choice on this thread, but I think the point of the thread is discussing rides that were meant to HAVE theming in the first place. What would make Colossus better themed? Or Goldrusher? Anyhow, my vote goes for Gadget's Go-Coaster at DLR. Might work at another park but just not up to Disney standards in my opinion. Chris. -
I had a friend up in Yosemite who's car ran the same way, and it always smelled like french fries. Bears broke into his car like, 5 times LOL. If you didnt know, bears break into the cars at the slightest hint of food in Yosemite. But yeah, the last few posts reminded me of that so I thought i'd mention it! Good luck with your project, and have fun with it! Chris.
