On a side note, this thread really proves the Male to Female ratio that this site caters to. Not that thats a bad thing, just an observation:D Oh. And I'm Gay. So I guess that puts me in the '2nd majority.' LOL Chris.

Looks like you had fun! My only Madonna experience was that dismal quarter-of-a-show at Coachella a few years back. What a joke! Chris. -
Shark jumps on to waterslide at Atlantis Resort

^ I would have to agree with you. Considering its a 'TMZ exclusive,' we can now know that this is guarenteed to be heard around the nation by the most intelligent of citizens. You know, the ones who WATCH TMZ. Still dont agree? Well, click the story link and read the 'user comments.' A wonderful showcase of Americas finest, for sure. chris. -
TMZ...not the best news source but heres the article: Shark Commits Suicide on Waterslide Posted Dec 18th 2008 6:00AM by TMZ Staff There's nothing quite like taking a cool trip down the water slide at the Atlantis Resort in The Bahamas, plunging into the refreshing pool at the end, and ... HOLY CRAP!! THAT'S A SHARK! But it was all too real when hotel staff saw that one of the sharks from the famous resort aquarium had somehow jumped out of its tank and onto a nearby water slide -- where it managed to slide down into the pool. It all went down before the pool opened Tuesday -- so nobody was in the water -- but here's where it gets tragic: A rep for the Atlantis tells TMZ the shark died a short time after swimming in the chlorinated water. Here's the heartbreaking statement: "Yesterday morning at around 9:30 AM, prior to the resort's waterscape opening to guests, a 12+-year-old female reef shark jumped over an 18 inch wide and 1 foot high sustaining structure into the resort's Leap of Faith water slide. The Atlantis Aquarists believe the shark was startled by an unusual circumstance that we have no way of defining completely. In the over ten years guests have experienced the Leap of Faith, the reef shark itself, harmless to humans as it is fed regularly by our staff, had shown no previous incidences of leaping out of the water in the marine habitat ... ... The habitat itself is part of the resort's open system which filters water from the Atlantic Ocean and is completely separated from the chlorinated water system on the slides. Once the shark fell onto the slide and into the chlorinated water, it was in significant distress. The Marine Aquarium Operations team responded immediately and was able to retrieve the animal at the bottom of the slide and return the animal to the main marine habitat in an attempt to resuscitate her. Despite the team's best efforts to recover the animal, it died shortly after the occurrence. There was no danger to our guests or staff, both of whom interact with these sharks daily in our various interactive programs (we have guests enter the shark habitat to swim and interact with the sharks in bathing attire only). In fact, our concern was for the animal itself who defied nature to take this leap. The entire team at Atlantis is truly saddened by the loss of this animal who had resided in the Atlantis marine habitat for over ten years." Mother spent hours on roller-coaster ride – unaware she was pregnant and about to give birth A mother spent hours being thrown around a corkscrew-style roller-coaster ride – unaware she was pregnant and about to give birth. By Lucy Cockcroft Last Updated: 12:44AM GMT 17 Dec 2008 Issy McMurdo was taken to hospital just days later with excruciating stomach cramps which she believed had been caused by something she had eaten. But nurses told the surprised 21-year-old that she was actually in labour. Miss McMurdo, a barmaid, said: "It was a massive shock when they gave me a scan and told me I was in labour. "I simply had no idea I was pregnant. I thought I had just put on a little bit of weight. "Then when my ankles swelled up I assumed it was because I was on my feet all the time at the pub. "I even went to Alton Towers where pregnant women are warned not to go on the rides. I was flung upside down on the Air ride at speeds of up to 50mph and hurled down drops of 53ft, so it was quite lucky I didn't go into labour there." Miss McMurdo, from Leaminton Spa, Warwickshire, was still working long night shifts right before giving birth to 6lb 2oz Oscar. Her boyfriend, Barry Humber, 22, said: "Issy had terrible stomach pains after coming over to my flat. "Twenty-four hours later our little boy was born. "Oscar is the best Christmas present anyone could ask for. We are very lucky" LINK: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3797441/Mother-spent-hours-on-roller-coaster-ride---unaware-she-was-pregnant-and-about-to-give-birth.html

Sorry to bring this back from the grave, but has anybody heard anything about this? With the interesting state of the economy right now, I doubt they WANT to build any more houses in Orange County, but would they even want to open the park? I can see neither projects going forward, at least this year. Chris. -
Did you know that Roaring Rapids at SFMM was going to be used as a training ground for a possible Rowing Slalom team at the 1984 Olympics? The sport was eventually removed from the Olympic adjenda. Chris.

I went to a bar and paid for myself and my designated driver...and I learned something really annoying. My Corona's : $5 each His Red Bull (and O'Douls LMFAO!): $6 each I spent more on his sobriety than my buzz!!! Total tab $114. Good times.

^ While these look completely awesome I disagree with California needing one. We already have a ton of ski resorts, some of which take less than an hour to get to from the city! I think Texas, or even more appropriately Florida could use this more. Or really, anywhere in the deep south:) Thanks for the photos, wish there were more! These places absolutely fascinate me LOL. Chris.

...not to mention, roller coaster riding at midnight is going to be COLD in January, even if we are in SoCal. From experience, cold coaster riding will be even more exhausting. If anybody recalls, it was pretty cold at night for WCB, and that was in March, and only till 10pm. I dont think people will WANT to ride anything after midnight, they will surely be exhausted (except for the select few of course). Cheers to SFMM for chosing to make a sober event out of New Years. I have absolutely no doubt that there will be plenty of teenagers on drugs though LOL. Chris.

Hello everybody, Last night I was aimlessly browsing the internet when I decided to start looking up theme parks on Yelp.com. WOW. Thats basically all I can say. I don't post very often here, but I'm on TPR every day, and I suppose there is a certain level of quality I have come to expect out of reviews for a park. From "Skip Gold Rusher because it is wood and it hurts," to a post placed a few months ago about how wonderfully Kingdom of the Dinosaurs is running, it was all easily cringe-able. "I believe the Log Ride at Knotts has one of the steepest drops on a log ride." Anyway, the reason I am posting this, is maybe we can invade Yelp.com and put on some, at least, ACCURATE reviews of the parks? I only checked my local west coast parks but somehow I think the problem extends beyond California. Tell me what you think, or post your favorite GP reports here:) Chris.

Is it me or is Kumba looking a little rusty? A nice cleaning or new paint job could really help that beautiful coaster. Chris.
