^To be fair, that's a pretty bizzare question about a ride that I'm sure they get very few questions about. Sometimes a question just can't be answered. Now, if the agent said 'do you mind waiting while I look for an answer for you?' ...and there is no line behind you, I think that would be acceptable.

#BanSelfieSticks - Help Us Spread The Word!

Nobody looks cool with a selfie stick. I hate the idea that we are even discussing something called a Selfie Stick. -

#BanSelfieSticks - Help Us Spread The Word!

When I want a nice picture of myself at a park, I ask somebody else to please take the picture for me. It's called communicating with my fellow human beings...a concept that is dissappearing at an alarming rate. I am all for banning the Selfie Stick. Ugh. -
^That's the thing...I pretty much always go to the park with different "GP" friends, and once we are done riding coasters, there is absolutely no reason to stick around. We usually end up leaving after 4 or 5 hours on a slow day. If they had some other attractions besides Jet Stream and Roaring Rapids, they might be able to keep me around for another few hours, and most importantly for them, a meal.

Guess this Coaster! (By the Layout)
WFChris replied to tarheel1231's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^But, what IS that random coaster? -
I don't see Southern Californians ever understanding a B&M wing coaster. Everybody would just see it as a tame version of X2, no matter how cool they made it. I don't think SFMM ever built a drop tower because, as mentioned, we had Freefall, KBF had Supreme Scream, and DLR had MaliBoomer. No need to invest millions into something that already exists nearby. They waited until they could announce something completely different, which they got with LLDOD. I do like the idea of a hyper/giga coaster, but lets be real. We have been wishing for one of those at ANY of our parks for like 15 years now. So anyway, after TC I'd love to see a sprucing up of Revolution and general improvements around the park. I really believe that the park doesn't NEED any more coasters after this (but omg we totally needed this!). We have one of the coolest collections of random and unique coasters you could possibly ask for. Yeah we don't have a Skyrush or a Maverick but who can say they have the random assortment we have?

^OMG thats the best idea ever! It would really round out the offerings over in that dead end! ^^That's kind of where I was coming from. When I ride coasters, I am looking at the track itself, the horizon, and the sky. My attention is pretty much never focused on the ground. I agree that it's no excuse for the area to look like crap, but that being said, the ground underneath Scream cannot be seen from inside the park so I can see why it's not a big priority to the powers-that-be at SFMM. Hopefully the 3 month downtime for that corner of the park produces ~something~ under the coaster!

^Although I'm hoping that TC will add some new life to Scream, I'm a little sad that my 'Go-To-Big-Coaster' with no line might have a consistent line now! What if they took the white parking lot lines and extended them out so there were just a bunch of random white lines on the ground (but not parking spots!)? Do you think that would help or make it even more chaotic and weird than it is already?

California Parks in May
WFChris replied to coastermaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My apologies, must be something in the water today! I read the reply as an implication that because of the FastPass system, the Disney Parks are good for the weekends, and I wanted to really push the point that they are not the best parks to visit over the weekend. Sorry if my reply was confusing. -
California Parks in May

They do, but its available to everybody at the park. In the past you were able to keep them WAY past the return time. Now, they (rightfully) enforce the return time making it a little more difficult to take advantage of. Still, it's a great way to get the headliners all in in if you do it in the right order. Nonetheless, on a Saturday or Sunday, you will likely not accomplish everything you would like to, whereas on a weekday it's much more possible. There is no way to pay more and skip the lines at the Disney Parks like there is at every other So Cal theme park. By all means if you think a Disney Park is better on Saturday or Sunday than the other parks, please please explain. I'd like to know. -
The only people I ever hear complaining about it being rough are enthusiasts. The GP (and hell, myself as well) find the ride as smooth as any other B&M, and much smoother than many other coasters in the park. I have also never heard anybody complain about the parking lot lines except for the enthusiast world. As mentioned before, Colossus has them beneath it as well and nobody complained about that. I would love some Kumba-esq grass underneath it, but that will never happen with our drought issue going on right now. Some California 'Baja Ridge' style landscaping would go a long way though. If they can put a Chinese restaurant in the Mexico themed land, they can theme the steampunk area to Mexico

California Parks in May
WFChris replied to coastermaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
May is generally a good month for visiting parks. Like always, avoid Saturdays and Sundays and you should be fine (everything will be open daily at that point). If you have to go to a park on Saturday or Sunday, make sure it is NOT the DisneyParks. This way, you can purchase a virtual queue system and still ride everything if necessary. Disney does not have that option. -
^There were lots of random Scream train parts sitting amongst the ride on Sunday, so I'm thinking an extensive train rehab will happen. I don't see why it would need brand new trains, though. Oh and by the way, I'm a defender of Scream, I love the ride, but on Sunday, I noticed this fabled 'rattling' that everybody seems to complain about. While I did get a good knock to the ear entering and exiting the Cobra Roll, it's still nothing I would ever really notice or complain about. My buddy said he didn't notice anything at all.
