Skyplex Orlando Discussion Thread

It would kind of be a dream come true for me to see a Flashback train slogging around on that track. I'd buy tickets to Orlando immediately! -

LOL I LOVE how they list it as 'No Selfie Sticks / Narsisstics' -
I don't remember the types either, but I was told that the wheels that were originally designed for the ride were insufficient and were being replaced with the new ones as they deteriorated. When our train came limping back into the station (on media day) everything was very hush hush about it and they had a mechanic switch out the wheel right then and there. I remember the wheel 'failing' about halfway through the helix and the remainder of the ride just felt kinda like a wooden coaster.

One of the most miserable openings I've ever gone to! It was cold and rained almost the entire day. Yes, but going up the hill after the first drop in the HAIL was a moment I can never forget And, the helix of doom was also running full force at that point!!!! I was even in one of the wheel chucking cars too... ~memories~

Sky Screamer has been topped off. yay! Picture from Six Flags Mexico's Facebook 'Murica! ...err....Mexico! -
The animation doesn't always have to reflect reality. Now, if they came out and installed twisty bits at the track color change, then uninstalled them and replaced them with the long flat bit, yes. That would be a 'layout change.' Considering this is how it is installed initially, we now know that this is how it always has been planned to be. It's not like they manufactured new bits of track due to some surprise change that we were out of the loop on. And if you didn't read complaints in the last two pages, what on earth were you reading? lol

^Don't the POTC installations that already exist have a Shoot the Chutes type element? Or are they referring to one that might actually get you wet? -
^I don't know if this is relevant at all, but the crew for Medusa Steel Coaster was (I believe) mostly a local Mexican crew along with 4 or 5 RMC employees. I don't know if they hire local help for all of their projects or prefer to keep them in-house, but if the help is mostly hired, then I doubt that the existence of WC has any relevance to the pace of TC going up. Like I said I have no idea if this is the case for all of their projects, but some food for thought...

So I read in the paper today that the resort is being pushed back to a 'first half of 2016' opening. The paper. lol. clicky -
I buy 4 tickets every year to Mt Baldy for $10 a piece. I have not been able to use any for the last 3 years!!! I personally prefer Baldy over the Bear Resorts simply because there are less crowds. The lifts may be slow but I love the laid back vibe up there. Hopefully we get a kick ass storm or two to get that mountain open again!!!
