  1. I believe video surveillance should be the ultimate answer in this situation instead of changing the ride dynamic so drastically. With so much technology in the world and even built into these rides, its surprising to me that these lawsuits can't be turned back onto the guest themselves. The person who threw/lost the object that took the dudes eye out should be the one footing the medical bills, not IOA. I also think these parks need to look into a more user friendly way of securing loose items on-board, ala Disney. The pay-storage-devices and cubby holes are just not secure enough to encourage people to part with items in their pockets, bringing them on-board will create a scenario where people are more likely to enjoy the attraction safely, with their pockets empty.
  2. At the very least, you can always purchase the photopass picture they displayed as more of a keepsake for you and your bf. I think that happening in the park is much more relevant to the two of you than it would be for everybody else.
  3. Just seems wrong to me. Especially with real Intamins already in existence over there.
  4. The over-reaction of the kids mother would imply that he was brought up in such a way that he likely dished an insult out to the clown, but was unable to emotionally handle it being dished back. It's all fun and games until they offend you, then you go tattling on the clown to mommy. Wes, I usually agree with you but having worked with guests for the last 13 years of my life, I would hardly think that the staff member is 100% to blame. Perhaps a poor reaction to some dick comment the kid said to him, but I would guess it was provoked. Jokes about pimples are typically reactionary. Jokes about lesbian justin beiber are awesome.
  5. Was there on Monday...just wanted to add an FYI that we saw Screamin' testing....hooray! There will finally be something to ride besides Tower!
  6. Can't wait to read on! Your TR's here made me finally take the dive and join the DIS
  7. I noticed that the accessibility maps had a QR code on them...did you scan that? Maybe it's to a super secret extremely accessible website!
  8. The Good Nite Inn, near Knotts Berry Farm is always dirt cheap. In between you are looking at some real sketchy places, or expensive hotels in Downtown.
  9. I'm going to have to break out my VHS copy of that video myself and give it a watch in honor of this important man!
  10. Lego produces the most tires in the world? Huh?
  11. ^Yeah, I had total NSFW vibes while reading the Mindbender segment Great TR, bud.
  12. ^I was also going to say Terminator/Apocalypse at SFMM. It's just way too small to be functional without a grouper limiting entrance to the area. Thought about the question in my head and didn't even think of Riddler's but you are all totally right about that one. What a clusterf**k! I feel like there are more stations out there that cause my blood pressure to rise as soon as I enter but I can't think of any. I may be going against the grain here, but I have never really enjoyed X (X2)'s station (I know, I know), but only because I feel like I spend HOURS in there each time I enter! A station that is soooo huge and only loads 2 people at a time gets a bit monotonous.
  13. Grizzly River Rapids at DCA has 2 hour free 'item storage devices' that are well separated from the entrance to the ride. I think it works well, so really, 'item storage devices' are not that out of the question for them...
  14. There are signs ALL OVER Buena Park directing people toward Haunt parking. Why? Does Haunt attract a less geographically inclined clientele than Knotts by itself? Is that a rhetorical question? lol, just sorta felt unnecessary as there are already permanent signs pointing the way to Knotts.
  15. Because everything that is on TV for JUST 1 PAYMENT OF $9.95 + Shipping And Handling comes from New Jersey.
  16. I know this isn't the Disneyland official thread, but I'm not sure one exists, so I'll post it here I just wanted to say that I very much enjoyed the 'Ghost Galaxy' rendition of Space Mountain. I have not been to the parks since before California Adventure opened, and it was a pleasant surprise to experience an old favorite with new everything and even a holiday overlay to boot Anyway, back to DCA talk
  17. Also, unless you like hanging out with yourself in lines (I definitely do not), I absolutely recommend finding some people here on TPR to go to the parks with. It was a dream of mine to go to KI and finally the opportunity arose, but I went by myself and just really had an awful time. I have met up with some TPR members here to go to SFMM with, and I really think it makes the trip a bajillion times better. Good luck with your planning!
  18. This seems like a great replacement for Big Bad Wolf!! ^^Hey there, the last few pages have been you being a negative Nancy. Stop it!
  19. I think they should build a Wingrider, just so we can have every reincarnation of a roller coaster with the seats on the sides of the track I'm totally kidding by the way, Los Angeles would NEVER accept 'that one ride like x that doesn't spin.'
  20. ^ Yes, because X2, Deja Vu, Green Lantern, Scream, Apocolypse, and Tatsu are all SCREAMING rip-off's of CP rides.
  21. For some reason, I feel like the amount of future expansion experts here at TPR have quadrupled this year! Seriously, MS Paint coasters? Come on guys, how dumb do you really want to look in a year?
  22. http://www.gaydaysanaheim.com/ It's coming up September 30th - October 2nd 2011. Who has gone...is it fun? Is it worth it? How 'all out' do you get? (i.e. get a hotel room, go to the off-site parties, go the both parks, get drunk, do the scavenger hunt...etc. etc. etc). Is anybody planning on going this year? Any advice for someone who hasn't been?
