  1. https://7news.com.au/entertainment/dreamworld-closes-popular-ride-for-revamp-c-519818 The iconic Tower of Terror (II) is being shut down early next month to make way for all the new stuff. Giant drop will still operate as normal. 22+ years of service........ thankyou for the thrills ToT!
  2. ^ LOL been 4 times to MM with our USA trips since 2012, and never once did I suck it up enough to go and ride it, especially after reading here! i think the general sentiment is I ain't missing much!!
  3. 1. Name 3 of your favorite roller coasters, but not your top 3. Green Lantern (Movie World Gold Coast), Twisted Colossus, Xcellerator 2. About how many different parks did you visit in 2018? 4 or 5 depending if DL & DCA is 1 or 2 3. Which 2018 park visit was your favorite? Universal Studios Hollywood 4. Your favorite 2018 park addition (ride, food, show, etc)? no 2018 additions were open at time of our visits 5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018? Twisted Colossus 6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018? DCA Food festival - anything with meat in it
  4. Interestingly, when we were at the park on 19 March this year, Roaring Rapids was actually open. This was the first time ever in all our visits (all roughly around the same time - this was our 4th since 2012), this ride was never open. So of course, we had to take the chance and ride it. Well, I don't think I've ever been so soaked on a rapids ride like this in all my life. The "boat" ended up with about 6 inches of water in the bottom of it, at least ankle deep. Was funny at the time (apart from having to walk around the rest of the day in wet socks). But I was a little disappoint
  5. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KBF. have Hangtime at least in Soft Opening by late March and i will love you long time.................
  6. *please be open by late March* *please be open by late March* one can only hope...........
  7. half correct. Movie World, Sea World, and Wet n Wild (both Gold Coast & Sydney versions) are owned by Village Roadshow Theme Parks. Dreamworld is owned by a company called Ardent Leisure.
  8. Probably not as it would only be my brother and I. We both have drivers licences but we are from Australia so I do not know how we'd go driving. Mate, you'll be cool with a car. Trust me, done it on my last 3 visits, so much easier. Whilst doing everything opposite to what you're used too sounds a bit daunting, it doesn't take too long at all to get used too. Took me all of 500m and once you're in traffic, it's no different. Just don't hire a car by walking up to a rental place and doing over the counter. You will be rorted, especially in insurance fees. Shoot me a PM if you want
  9. Still get a wristband with the Platinum pass. It's for letting you re-ride immediately if you wish. We never used that feature when we there back during Spring Break. I sorta felt bad enough jumping the queue as it was!! haha That reminds me, it was the week before Easter, on a Wednesday we went. Parked the car right on park opening, but we didn't even get on our first coaster till after 1pm. Spent so long in the Will Call line to get our LA Go passes processed and then so long in the line to actually get in the bloody park, and then another massive line to get the Flash Pass. Was ki
  10. Is it worth pre-purchasing Platinum Flash Passes (for $125 each) from the website for our planned visit in late March? Unfortunately, it is the week before Easter and what I understand to be Spring Break so will be quite busy? Looking at a midweek day. IS it one of those no-brainer "get the pass" type of days or a "wait and see" tyoe of day?
  11. I think you have to find where the Rental company shuttle bus stop is outside your terminal, then catch the bus to the Alamo/National depot up the road. At least that's what I have to do, but i come in via International. Locals can correct me if I'm wrong
  12. Our trip to the US this year unfortunately co-incides with Spring Break (the week before Easter). Is it worth purchasing the Fast Lane pass now, or just wait until we get there and play it by ear? Looking at going either the Good Friday or Easter Saturday. Same question would pretty much apply to the other parks we intend visiting (such as Magic Mountain on the Wednesday).
  13. If I remember rightly from my 2012 visit, we went to Mrs Knotts pretty much on park closing time (it was an early close, like 5 or 6pm) and stayed well past that time for our meal.
