  1. ^LOL I Was thinking the same thing...I hardly noticed the parts underneath the 'WHY SFMM WHY?' removed camelback.
  2. Just spent a good part of my workday reading the thread, had a really good time! I liked the fattie concept as well, I mean, "When in Rome!"
  3. It doesn't go upside down. I know most of the coasters at Disneyland use velcro, but even then much of it has become quite loose over the years. I do imagine that velcro is easier to replace when it finally does fail, though. Superman needs them to remain secure though, there is a TON of airtime on that ride! Also, I've just been told that the bags are almost completely installed on one train, and only on a couple of seats in the other. We think that they are in the process of doing this at night, as I was there personally 2 weeks ago and saw zero of these.
  4. Quick update on the park: - Slingshot is OPEN! MX$250 per rider and MX$200 per season pass holder (US $19.13 / $15.31) - Superman El Ultimo Escape is currently installing on-board loose item bags (like at Disney parks). Superman is a Morgan Hyper Coaster. Have we seen this on any other Six Flags coaster before? Perhaps it's the beginning of a trend? Superman is the large hyper coaster in the background. While the ride already utilizes a cubby system, they now have these on-board bags!
  5. This coaster is looking great but I have to be honest, this really lame debate is making it difficult for us outsiders to get quality updates on Goliath. Would love to see an updated set of construction pics!!!
  6. ^I wouldn't wish him luck, I would say 'enjoy the people watching while you enjoy the coasters with your gold flashpass!'
  7. I think X2 and Green Lantern are both really good. So, there's my vote for that. Holiday in the Park has been running at Six Flags Mexico for quite a while, and I hear they do a very good job with it. Of course, SFM is far better looking and operated than SFMM, so we'll have to see what they pull off up at the mountain.
  8. Those Jesus cardboard cutouts really tie the room together. (Shameless 'Jesus looks like the Big Lebowski' plug). Always enjoy your threads, guys. Hope you start one for Vegas!
  9. Six Flags Mexico is opening up a Sling Shot this week.
  10. ^I totally know what you mean about 'awe factor.' When I went to the park last week, I caught myself staring at Medusa in a child-like way that I haven't done since 'X' was built at SFMM. The drops, flips, and crazy turns just look so weird and impossible and EXCITING!
  11. Thanks for posting these! The photo quality is improving, however I'm also kind of a fan of 'real' shots, so I enjoyed your first couple of reports quite a bit. Trust me, it takes time to get used to posting these P:TR's and hoping that at least a few comments trickle in! Don't lose faith!
  12. I think at some point, every single thing on the ship was your 'favorite.' Cool report, would love to try one of these cruises some day.
  13. ^You know, I'm not sure exactly but I have heard that they plan on having it open by Mid-June, so I would imagine that they would need to finish building it by the end of this month to meet that deadline. My totally uneducated guess is that it looks 60%-80% complete.
  14. This was my third visit to the park including the TPR tour, and I'll be back in a couple of months for Medusa!
  15. Well, I just got back from Mexico City again, I was there for a big 4 day music festival. It was NUTS. Anyway, I made some time to renew my Pase Anual at Six Flags Mexico, and thought I would take some time to share some pictures with you fine folks. We'll start with an OMG MEDUSA UPDATE!!!!! Here we can see the crew installing a curvy piece of track. This turn was previously a lot higher off the ground if my memory serves me correctly. The coaster is situated on a densely forested hill and isn't easy to take pictures of. It should end up being very 'Outlaw Run...ny' Prices this year. Renewing my AP was MX$480 which is US$36.60 Medusa towers over the entry plaza of Six Flags Mexico. Random themeing at Superman El Ultimo Escape Lift hill action poking up over the restaurant You can barely make out the insane first drop and another hill through the structure If I saw track, I took a picture. Like I said, it's not easy to photograph, especially inside the park. Really, this is all you can see inside the park. Yes, it's okay to take pics on the ferris wheel. This was the best I could do, there was this terrified girl in my car and she wouldn't let me scoot over to take a better shot. Cool shot of the park. Random flippy ride thing and Vampire Infestation. I heard a rumor that it's gonna go Zombie soon. S&S fun. They were only running one tower so I neglected to ride it. Sling Shot opens next week. It's pretty big and should end up being a lot of fun! I saw it testing. The first boomerang ever on the planet. With it's silly 3 minute first lift. So many flats at this park, it makes for a really nice atmosphere. This is the entrance to the kids area, apparently the facade is from the 'before Six Flags' period. Another cool random flat. Double Decker merry go round. For some reason I never noticed this before. Another shot of Sling Shot. For those who have been, it's between Boomerang and the Swings. Another shot inside the park. This is just inside the park. I'm not sure what they were doing with that box on a string but they were moving it all over the place. And one more shot from the parking lot for good measure. Notice the track IN the trees? This is gonna be a cool ride! After I got back into the city off the Metro, there was this crazy thunderstorm. Everybody was waiting in the exit to let it pass. I love Mexico City!!!!!
  16. ^Peoplemover never really had much of a queue, what is now Astro Blasters was a queue built for the Rocket Rods, in the location of what was the relatively dumb 'Circlevision.'
  17. You are not alone. The biggest contribution they provided was constant movement all over the themed area. I personally think it pushed the whole retro-future vibe.
  18. It's funny that you were so disappointed by Screamin. See, I think it's one of the best coasters in Southern California. It's kinda like this thread...I don't think it has helped the OP at all in chosing his two parks because we all have our own set opinions! Although, parkhopper at DLR on a long operating day and SFMM is really the answer he's looking for.
  19. I watch Captain EO every time I go to the park. My favorite part is when the evil queen robot thing says 'So we can all agree to your stupidity!' It's so 1980's and you can see all the parents get visibly uncomfortable when it happens. Love it.
  20. Behind the scenes of the Sheriff's Department at SFMM (or any other park with an on-site police station, if any).
  21. I see the two different 'currencies' at the top, so this is basically another 'Ville' game. I refuse to play those types of games, so I guess it's a good thing that it looks terrible.
  22. Great report! I really need to get back to BGT...or A... there are just so many other places I would rather spend my money than Florida!!! My one and only visit was also cut short by an afternoon thunderstorm...I remember we were heading back to the park entrance area, we saw a flash of lightning, then a huge crowd of people running back into the park area! It was pretty wild...being from Southern California its always wild when we see real actual weather.
