  1. Well being my thread got closed (I did a search, but i searched for "World of Warcraft" instead of "WoW") Ima try to continue it here. So anyone recently play WoW now? And if so are you 'addicted' like the rest of the world? (I'm 'hooked' but not yet addicted..lol)
  2. I started playing around May or so this year. At first it didnt really appeal to me that much, but the more I played it, the more I became 'hooked'. (but not quite yet addicted)....Just wondering anyone else in here plays or have played WoW. Is it as addictive for you as people say it is?
  3. Nice PTR. Seems like you had a blast....Even though I never rode Silver Star (or been to germany for that matter) I'm kind of a secret fan of it. I dont know its just something about it that I like....
  4. Being that a floorless is nothing but a variation of the tradition sit-down, that would constitute it as being a gimmick...I guess its more of a subjective matter if anything...depends on your perception. As far as the invert, I would say at first it seemed pretty gimmicky, but later turned out to be a standard. (There are more inverts in the world than any other coaster B&M made)
  5. Basically...and yes its a gimmick
  6. ^^^ I agree. I mean an opinion is an opinion, regardless of how close you live near the ride. Even if the review was a little biased, that opinion is just as valid as someone who lives a little further away. Why is even there a thread about other peoples' opinions anyway?? Its all up to you if you want to believe them or not. Or even better yet, ride it yourself and formulate your own opinions. Like someone said earlier, it all just boils down to personal perference, either you like it, or you don't. But dont bash the people who really like the ride and gave positive reviews just becuase one gave an "honest" one. So what, the one's who really liked it wasnt honest enough? Why? Because they didn't say enough negative things about BB? It's really not that serious...
  7. The.... Not 'the' dog, not 'The' Georgia Scorcher... just 'the'
  8. ditto..real work sucks! I also enjoy reading these TRs as well.
  9. ^ Yea, it sucks that CG is so close to the other major theme parks, but they still have someting to work on. Maybe if they had more shows or something different that the other big parks dont have. If they keep thier focus on what works with them, I believe CG can be sucessful. As for Wild Adventures, I think they'll be all right. Especially if Herschend ends up owning the park. They got a lot of cleaning up to do, but I can see that park doing big things in the future.
  10. Worst - lost my cell phone riding Montu Going to any theme park in July Best - Got a lucky ride on Gwazi last year when both side were actaually dueling! Riding Goliath (SFOG) for the first time. (my first 200ft coaster) You decide -Having Ninja broke down as soon as I sat down on the train and pulled down restraints
  11. Wow, those are some really, REALLY nice pics. I especially love the GASM and Griffion loop pics. One of them was timed perfectly upside down. Thats awesome photo-taking skills you got. And I also agree with RIP Psyclone comment about the Aplengeist. I never realized that the drop was THAT big! No wonder they have a zero-car in the front, you damn near riding a hyper invert..
  12. Hmmm, I wonder what direction the new owners will take with these parks. Never been to Cypress Gardens, but been to Wild Adventures last year. It was 'aiight' so to speak, but nowhere near Busch Gardens quality. Thier flats are alright, but I hope they balance out the coasters, though since they are far too many kiddie coasters and less 'family' and thrill coasters. Its too early too tell what will really happen. Lets just hope whatever desicion they make is for the better.
  13. Honestly, I'm glad that I havent seen another 'record breaker' as being the tallest, fastest, etc. To me its nothing but a gimmick and a waste of space at a park. I'm definately a quality over quantity type person, so rides like TTD and MF doesnt really appeal to me like a ride like Mindbender,Kumba, etc., does.
  14. The more I see this coaster, the more I like it. Especially from looking at the videos, I think Cypress Gardens got something good in their hands. I like the white track and the purple cars as well. This is a park I will definately be visiting in the future
  15. Based on the B&Ms I've ridden, I voted for the pre-drop straight drop and the straight drop without the pre-drop. I love the pre-drop curves as well, but the first two I like better for their crazy air-time in the back row. Plus its just more exhilarating.
  16. cool.... nice ptr..I was there (Boomers) Sunday night. I would've met you that Monday if I wasn't in a rush to go back to Tallahassee. That ride is still suprisingly smooth and hella fun! Man I was supposed to a PTR on DBH but my camera stopped working on me! Oh well
  17. As of this past Saturday, the Dania Beach Hurricane.
  18. Now this is a random ass topic.. As for me, I've almost always seen drivers merge in at the very last minute in order to get up as far as they can. So yea its a FL thing too (the further south you go the worse they are)
  19. Wow, I cant believe they're bringing that back. It was so cool when I was younger, but looking at it now, it just looks real cheesy. I wonder how they are gonna update the show to today's standards...
  20. ^ ah man, I forgot about that. Add that to my list as well! My family (especially from Alabama) is big on Blues music, (well Marvin Sease type blues ).
  21. ^ Yeah, I hope everything goes smooth for yall when it opens! I've been following this story for a while and I'm just as excited for this coaster to open as yall are! It just gave me another reason to visit Texas in the near future.
  22. Hmm...not sure what to say about this one...definately a more straight-foward layout than previous hypers. (besides Canada's Goliath) With that 85 degree drop, I'm sure theres lots of air time. I'm just a little iffy on the ending. Its looks a little too short. The trains also look weird, but I'm sure everyone will get used to them the closer it opens. I definately can see myself riding one of the outer trains...
  23. ^ same with the kiddie coasters at Wild Adventures (except Swamp Thing, I condsider it more "family" than "kiddie") It's funny they advertise thier 9 coasters when only 3 (4 if u count Swamp Thing) were actually full-size....
  24. If I was judgeing only by the look, style, and technique I would say GG first and GCI a close second. GCI has some beautiful looking coasters and I like thier twisty nature. Their coasters also seem more family-oriented, meaning ridership will be very high. GG seems like to go a different direction and concentrates on give the riders a more fun and intense ride. I like how they do things that havent been done on a wooden coaster before (90 degree banked turns, etc.) As far as the ones I ridden, I rank them as so: Dania Beach Hurricane (Coaster Works) - Its not that big but man this ride is soooo much fun! And I love the double out and back layout and the air time in the back. Cheetah (Custom Coaster) - It has the best layout of the three, but the roughness of it prevent it from being at the top. Still a great ride and I rank higher than the SFOG woodies. Gwazi (GCI, and yes I LOVE this ride!) - This is a great ride and I shun anyone that thinks otherwise. I like its twisty nature even though they dont really duel anymore. Still a winner, though.
  25. You can say I'm a Programmer Analyst. I do basically your typical programming stuff: test, debug, and maintain an application that is used by clients statewide.
