Hey everyone, I know this is short notice, but I just kind of decided on this earlier today. I am going to have my first day off from work and class friday, and decided that I am gonna take a little day trip down to Myrtle Beach for some picture taking and maybe a little evening riding at Family Kingdom. The park opens at 6, so I am going to try to be there around then. Anyone who may be looking for a quick coaster fix until Hard Rock opens is welcome to tag along! Gary T.

Colonial Williamsburg is a lot of fun to just walk around and take in. I know how you feel about trying to find a balance. I would love to do more multiple park trips, but Melissa, while she likes going, isn't as fanatical about them as I am. I always try to find other things to do on our trips as well to kind of compliment the amusement parks we go to. Like when we make our second attempt at SFOG next month, we are also going to take a couple hour stop at Myrtle Beach.

^New York and Michigan will allow people age 18-21 to rent cars, but the extra fee ends up being something like $50 a day.

First-Timer to Busch Gardens Europe..

Even without the single rider line though, griffon's line is pretty good for constantly moving. Of the three main ways to get to Griffon, the floating bridge by Loch Ness to germany and over through new france, or going through Ireland and the wild reserve would be your best bet. As for night time rides, all three B&Ms provide cool night rides, especially Apollo's Chariot since the lights were off each time I rode it at night. -

I would agree with Hercules on that one. Kings Dominion on a Saturday in April should be fairly light in crowds, so I would go to Busch on Friday and Kings Dominion on Saturday. The other thing I will say is that it would be best to hit the rides at Busch following the circular pattern that the main paths form around the park, because jumping from ride to ride that is located on opposite ends (Like going to Griffon, then to Apollo and back to Alpengeist) will take a long time because the park has their rides much more spaced out than other parks I have been to. Also, if you like to stop for a bit and watch a show or two, you can either go to the Festhaus or the Italian theater and have lunch while taking in a show. My personal favorite show is Emerald Beat. -

^I recall the seeing the rusty water coming from Raptor before, but if anything Cedar Point could go ahead and fix it instead of just letting it go. This policy is rather goofy if you ask me especially since some of the rides don't even use friction based brakes (Millennimum, Dragster, and Maverick). -

^ I was thinking the same thing. It really is odd that there is no lake next to it. Jeff, you have any idea when the track was completed? Great collection of pics you have here, especially from the eiffel tower -
Six Flags will probably have an easier time recruiting girls for this "Thrillleaders" thing than they will people to work in the bathrooms. I think that while six flags could hire more people, they probably would need to have more people apply, which I would assume to be eaiser if they had better pay and perks (But then again, the only place I know the actual pay level and perks is Cedar Point, I don't know for sure what Six Flags offers).

^As much as I would like to see that happen, I have to agree with what was said before that this is more than likely a way to cut costs so that they can run one side as opposed to both at the same time if it is slow. That and as said before, Rebel Yell's two lifts don't match in speed going up, so unless it was timed just right, it would never be close. -
I would also say BGE. Even if shows are not really something you do all the time, you can't go wrong with BGE's shows, especially Emerald Beat. That and as others have said, operations are better there. I went the weekend before Memorial Day and the weekend of last year, both which were fairly busy weekends, and we waited at the longest an hour for any ride.

I am telling you what, the location they picked seems like a good spot for it after seeing some of these other pictures. Can't wait to see what it is like when it is all said and done. May have to sneak up there for a day and ride. -

Hypersonic is in the back of the park, and Dominator is being built in the front of the park. I don't see why it would be bad to add a hyper to the skyline at carowinds. Last weekend I was in Atlanta and Goliath does stick out more than anything else in the park, but it didn't look bad. It would be awesome to drive down I-77 South and see a hyper coaster in the skyline with Top Gun, Drop Zone and BORG. -

WalMart blocked in San Diego....
carolinacaniac replied to BeemerBoy's topic in Random, Random, Random
I think many people feel that because they are paid as little as they may be and get little to no benefits, there is no reason to work extra hard when they are going to get the same amount of pay as they would for doing the minimum. When I worked at the front end of Lowes Foods, I could see the daily sales, and many times they would be about two or three times what I make in a year, and that is in one day (Keep in mind that I would work about 30-35 hours a week with no benfits, but better pay than most similar jobs in the area). Now take Wal-Mart which if I worked there would probably pay me less in a year, but their daily sales would be in the six-figure range in one day alone. This is one of the main reasons I am majoring in Middle Grade Education, because I know that the main benefit of the work I do isn't going to be to make someone else money. -
Photo AND Video TR: Opening Day at SFOG!

I was done in Atlanta with my wife this weekend, and we were also going to do SF on saturday just to see that it was in the low 30's. I decided to drive by to see if anything was running and saw that it was closed. I was a bit bummed since this was a big part of our trip for the weekend, but I did go for an hour or so on Sunday before we went to the NASCAR race that afternoon (Six Flags America Season Pass). I loved Goliath, Mind Bender and Batman. Thought Wile and Ninja were fun, and Great American was a great let down. I was in line for Superman when I noticed my phone had jumped an hour, and realized that I forgot it was daylight savings So I got in 6 of the 10 coasters, but on the bright side, Melissa and I are planning a trip back next month. This time around I am gonna do it the right way with pictures and everything! -
I didn't necessarily mean that it would be for this project, my sharing this idea was based on someone before suggesting Spain as the new country if that was what they were going to do. I completly agree that an acre and a half is not at all enough space for a new country, and probably not enough for a coaster the size of what I have envisioned.
-
I thought Spain would be a great Idea too. One Idea I had for a ride was a racing or dueling wooden coaster themed after the running of the bulls. Have the tracks go between buildings and have the line at an elevation to one side to sort of simulate the people on balconies who watch the bulls. and on the other side could be a dinning area. The only thing that may hinder that idea is that it seems like Busch isn't too keen on the upkeep of wood based on what others have said about Gwazi.
