  1. Looks like Grizzly is getting some major re-tracking. cfpl3.cagreatamerica.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm And according to the blog, the announcement is coming next week.
  2. Really, really random, but with the mention of Vortex never having a line, I found some pretty good pictures showing off one of CGA's rare busy days of the 2008 season. It's nice seeing pictures with queue lines full, at least for CGA. picasaweb.google.com/filly.ho/05102008GreatAmerica#5199026785058467042
  3. They're not old Intamin trains; they're the first generation B&M trains. The different is thet the older models have a rounded front, while newer models have three "horns" like the trains on Mantis or Riddler's Revenge.
  4. Maybe the announcement will come on Monday because that's when most people go back to school and work. If any coaster were to be removed, IMO, Vortex would be it. It hardly had a line at all during the 2008 season. The longest line was when they had the Switchfoot concert in the spring where the entire overflow queue was used.
  5. Not coasters, but an episode of the show Parental Control on MTV takes place in Magic Mountain where they ride the Go Karts and the Skycoaster.
  6. Vortex is kind of fun IMO, just REALLY rough. Unless they can fix that, they should replace it. Given Vortex's very small footprint, I think a Eurofighter would be a perfect replacement. And as for Grizzly there's nothing else to say about how bad it is than what was already said.
  7. Looks like CGA will announce what's new for next year in early January according to their blog. cfpl3.cagreatamerica.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm Just scroll down to the last picture with the caption underneath it.
  8. I guess you could think of it like how airlines overbook their flights on purpose. Hypothetically, if an airline has 75 seats, and only booked those 75 seats, and a family of 4 pulls out at the last minute, that airline just lost money. If a park purposely over staffs a ride, they have the "no show" factor just in case people don't show up.
  9. ^Knotts isn't necessarily an epic fail, just a different targeted audience. It's an overall nice park, and the only rides we went on over and over again were Xcelerator and Montezooma's Revenge. The other coasters were alright, but Silver Bullet is an epic fail. Anyways, I don't think Cedar Fair is going to give up on CGA; at least not yet. Once they get the whole noise issue resolved with that retarded company next door, I'm sure they will get their stuff together.
  10. Not before today. You better have voted for...I mean, did you vote for Obama?
  11. ^^That picture looks so naked without Vortex or Flight Deck in the background! I still wish they would never have taken it out.
  12. Wow. That took me a lot longer than I needed to read it. Periods are useful. Anyways, I thought Werewolf Canyon was the best one because it feels like you are in the woods.
  13. Yeah, Club Blood has vampire pole dancers and another scene that is kind of graphic that I don't want to give away. It doesn't happen all the time, but lets just say the scene I'm talking about involves a pregnant vampire lady. i haven't seen any of the shows, but people that have watched the hypnosis show either really liked it, or really hated it. I have not heard anything bad about Ed Alonzo and I really want to see his show. I haven't really heard anything about the Improv show. Camp Gonnagetcha was having some issues all weekend and wasn't running that much. Definitely go through Slaughterhouse! It's one of the best mazes there and the scare actor that walks through the queue line is really entertaining.
  14. ^^I'm am going to definitely disagree with you on a lot of things because like you work at SFDK, I work at CGA. First off, this is CGA's first year at doing Haunt so you have to give them a break. SFDK only has TWO mazes. The main reason people go to these events is for the mazes, not the decorations around the park. Sure it adds to the atmosphere, but people aren't paying money to just look at decorations. Just like you stated, you are very biased towards SFDK as I am towards CGA. Ok, here's what offended me. Calling the ride operators, like myself, horrible is going a little to far. I HIGHLY doubt the ride operator at Demon was doing what you stated. When I went to SFDK last Summer, I saw the control operator at Medusa with her lunch and just munching away taking forever to dispatch. Not to mention the amount of operators I saw with cell phones out. I don't want this to turn in to some big argument, but hey, we're both biased.
  15. It might not be a good idea for Prowler because that layout is a lot more sprawled out than the supposed area for the coaster at SFMM.
  16. California Nevada Utah Idaho Wyoming Montana South Dakota Nebraska Iowa Minnesota Texas New Jersey Florida
  17. All I have is my nape (AKA Neck) pierced. Whoever says piercings don't hurt are lying!
  18. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk California's Great America Six Flags Magic Mountain Knott's Berry Farm
  19. Cyclone Bay is probably the worst themed area in my opinion. Just combine it with The Movie District. See, the thing with Rapids Camp Crossing is that it can't really be combined with Baja Ridge. There is that long walk underneath Revolution in the woods to get to RCC. I would say just have it be a lower level of Samurai Summit.
  20. Definitely go on Sunday. I went to Haunt this past Saturday, what a mistake. The line for Cornstalkers was probably a good 45 minutes or longer and stretched all the way to the sign/next to Psycho Mouse. Werewolf Canyon was stretched past Flying Eagles, and I heard Slaughterhouse eventually stretched all the way to the Vortex entrance! Club Blood wasn't that bad. I didn't even bother look at the line for CarnEvil.
  21. If you look at similar rides at all Cedar Fair parks, all the height requirements are uniformed.
  22. It's not just Knott's that has those ridiculous height requirements. CGA, another Cedar Fair park, raised a lot of height requirements from the 2006 to 2007 which is when the park fully became a Cedar Fair park. The Orbit, which is a schwartzkopf enterprise used to have a height requirement of 44", and it is now 54" which is insane considering Xtreme Skyflyer (the extra fee skydiving thing) is only 48". Cedar Fair height requirements are ridiculous and do not need to be as high as they are.
  23. Any B&M's that don't have supports filled with sand. X's lift was always loud, and now that it's X2 with the music, you can't even hear the person sitting next to you. And I'll have to second Superman at SFMM.
