  1. I work at the park, and previously worked at Endeavor, formerly The Revolution (Looping Starship). I got SO many complaints of how stupid the new name is, and it really isn't that bad of a name. I can only imagine how much people will react about Drop Tower and Flight Deck. Seriously, at the very least rename Drop Zone to Stunt Tower, which I actually really like. I can understand then wanting to keep the sign because it is the nicest sign for a ride I have ever seen, but use some creativity. And Flight Deck, why not use Afterburn also?
  2. Thought I would post this here. On the Physics Day website for CGA, it says that Drop Zone will be renamed Drop Tower. It just doesn't list it on the actual website yet. God do I hope this is not a permanent name, but it probably is. Scroll all the say down to see it. homepage.mac.com/cbakken/pga/
  3. CGA, a mini CP?! That'll be the day. Since they already anounced the plans for 2009, I'm curious what 2010 will bring. I highly doubt a large attraction. I can see that year being used for painting and general upgrades, unless it doesn't get done in 2008 or 2009.
  4. It's not a new sign, they just replaced the Paramount logo with the new one.
  5. ^Cool, cool. I'm excited for the season to start. This sounds weird, but I hope this season is more packed than last year. It is just depressing when there's no one in the park. Now with the extended days and hours, CGA has the longest season of the former Paramount parks with the season starting on March 16th. And also one the the longest in the chain. For some reason, Carowinds hours got hacked for the summer.
  6. ^^You should take a picture of it and post it here.
  7. Looks like Drop Tower just made its way over to Carowinds. www.carowinds.com/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=1
  8. ^^That wouldn't work because their new topspin is Firefall; they sound almost the same.
  9. Me personally, I buy a souvenir cup which saves a lot of money. And at CGA, there are a lot of places to eat like In n' Out, Taco Bell, KFC, etc. Also stay away from the dippin' dots!! I try so hard and thats what eats away at my wallet.
  10. Yeah. Since the other parks are sticking with Flight Deck, hopefully they get kiss ass signs than can offset the crapiness of the name. But then again, it's Cedar Fair.
  11. "If Frank were an upcharge, I would definately pay to ride."
  12. I just think it's funny when The Orbit (Schwarzkopf Enterprise) at SFGam has a height requirement of 42", while the identical ride at it's sister park, CGA, has a height requirement of 54".
  13. I have experienced a miscatch on Invertigo and it was so weird. Anyways, congrats, again! By the way, I work at CGA also, but at a different ride. This is my 3rd season!
  14. I didn't want to start a new topic, but CGA just changed Top Gun to Flight Deck on their website. Survivor still has the name.
  15. I don't have any pictures myself, but here's a link to great pictures of HMB Endeavor at CGA. It's great because it's one of the pirate ships and its over water. www.srcphotography.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=32 And here's also a video on youtube. www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ship+at+great+america
  16. Roller Coaster - Lagoon - 1921 Giant Dipper - Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk - 1924
  17. The HB movie was for 2006 and wasn't used that much during the end of the season. For 2007, they only used one side of the theater for the Spongebob 3D which still continues to be one of the most popular rides in the park. I really want to see 7th Portal or Smash Factory make a return.
  18. ^Let me edit that for you a little: 1992: IMAX Rehab. 1994: Action FX Theater with Days of Thunder. 2002: Flying Eagles (not 2001) and Delirium. 2003: Nickelodeon Central along with Spongebob 3D.
  19. www.srcphotography.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=27&pos=12 Great looking entrance in my opinion. At night it looks even more spectacular.
  20. I don't know planes flight patterns, but the planes fly over the south side of the park, over Psycho Mouse, Top Gun, etc. At least that's what I've seen. And Drop Zone is 224 ft. and I think that is the max height for the park. In 2009, or 2010, I can see them doing something with KidZville because it is in extreme need of a facelift and Cedar Fair wants to dump the HB characters. Since CGA has gotten new attractions every year whether it be a flat, coaster, or wave pool, I think 2010 will be a quiet year.
  21. Every coaster at CGA needs a paint job EXCEPT Invertigo and obviously Grizzly. Anyways, the trains are going to be the millenium flyers. What I want to know is what the name will be.
  22. They could advertise it as the only park in California with two wooden coasters! And it does look really long, something else that CGA really needs.
  23. California's Great America - Santa Clara, California -Decent amount of stuff to do in the park. -San Jose Airport 5 minutes from the park. -TONS of hotels walking distance from the park. -Downtown San Jose near by. -Beautiful weather in May. -Lots of malls and other things to do near by. -And then go to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, about 45 min-1 hour North of Santa Clara if you want to go to another park. Or do the opposite and start at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom first.
  24. Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Most awesome place in the WORLD! I'm a little biased though considering I am Brazilian and speak Portuguese. I really want to visit Australia and Italy.
  25. Invertigo at CGA: E-Stop was pressed and the seat I was in was a 1/4 up the boomerang. Stuck for about 10 minutes. Endeavor at CGA: As we were upside down I saw the tires stopped spinning, and I figured it wasn't supposed to do that. Came to a burning rubber hault and was stuck in 100 degree weather for 15 minutes. Drop Zone at CGA: All of the cabins dropped except ours. Really freaky! We were up there for about 5 minutes and it took 5 minutes to get the cabin down. I saw them do an evac on Demon at CGA, and that is one hell of a steep lift!
