  1. Yeah, but they've had millions in capital (their most expensive investment?) tied up in this non-functional ride for quite a while now. It doesn't take an MBA to know that having a large investment in something that is generating $0 is bad. Perhaps bad enough to divert attention from fixing some of the less important rides for a bit. Although if the problem is purely related to the trains, there's not much they can do other than wait and hope their vendor fixes the problem.
  2. You know I think there's something to this. In my experience, women don't really want a wussy guy that takes them to $300 dinners, buys them lots of gifts, and generally sucks up to them every chance he gets. Women will date this type of man for the free stuff, but then they'll toss him aside when she meets her so-called soul mate: a motorcycle-riding alcoholic who although he occasionally beats her is actually a delicate soul that she must save from the demons that live in his heart.
  3. It's true. The solution? Petition universities to reduce the number of law school seats. Less lawyers = less time to pursue bogus cases. There are, as the SFKK case illustrates, legit cases out there, just not enough to keep the glut of lawyers busy. Unfortunately, law schools are a big money maker for universities as they can charge medical-school-like tuition while the cost of educating a lawyer is relatively low. So, don't expect to see them cut back seats any time soon.
  4. MSN in general has awful content. It's not just the dating pieces. A retarded chimpanzee huffing ether and airplane glue could compose more informative content.
  5. It would be helpful if you posted a link to the article.
  6. Yeah, I think we all know where this is going to lead and it ain't good.
  7. Judging from the extensive track work Voyage got after its first season maybe this is expected wear and tear.
  8. ^Heck, and maybe late July at that.
  9. Mt. Olympus gets my vote for crappiest operations. They have the most disinterested and unfriendly ride operators I have ever seen. All 4 of their woodies have only one train, including Hades. A few of their coasters had grass growing up into the track. They don't properly fence off track area.
  10. ^^I'm with you on hoping this doesn't have a splash down, Scott. In my mind, KI needs an EGF-level thrill machine. Their coaster collection is so awful now that they really need a top 10 ride to even things out a bit. And, yeah a splash down is really just fluff that doesn't give the riders anything. I mean this is Kings Island for Vishnu's sake. The water jets won't even work by 2010. Just give us a great ride. No gimmicks.
  11. FYI, this sounds like just standard car dealer BS. A good general rule is that if they have even ONE on the lot, the car isn't that much in demand. With a really high demand car they have 0 on the lot and 6+ month back order list. Back in like 2000, I took my car in for service and walked across the street to look at the new (at the time) Toyota MR2. The sales goon came up to me oozing the standard over-confident, half-shouting hard sell. They were asking like $3,500 over MSRP. Since I was bored, I started negotiating and quickly got him to drop the price to standard MSRP. Of course, I didn't buy the car as I had a brand new car at the time, but the lesson is that it's not terribly hard to get dealers to drop their over-MSRP charges. At least if they have one on the floor.
  12. Thanks for the tips. Geez. Guess I might have to show up at like 9:30 AM and waste 30 minutes of Extra Magic Hours.
  13. It's looking like a sprint to Crush on Friday morning as soon as they open. Unfortunately, this would take away some Extra Magic Hours time in Disneyland Park.
  14. Flight Deck. It's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year round.
  15. My apologies, RIP. Does this one meet your approval:
  16. There's really only one thing to say:
  17. My neck is already hurting at the thought of riding that POS in June.
  18. Very, very sad. Why wasn't care of the dolphins part of Montreal's strike contingency plan?
  19. I really hope this is not the case. It's this same short-sighted, make-a-buck-right-now approach that got them entangled into their present financial mess.
  20. Ugh. This reminds me of my visit to CP last September. Several of the major rides were closed for part or all of the day. Everything that was open had an unacceptably long queue. Blue Streak had a 90 minute wait posted at one point. BTW, here's the forecast for tomorrow in Sandusky: Sounds like they might not run the coasters at all tomorrow.
  21. Dude, I've seen those rooms up at UC. They've got you packed in like rats. People in concentration camps lived better than that.
