Wow. Just....wow. Corporate policy is what matters because push comes to shove that is what you are held to. You should be great because it is your job and you should want to try and do the best job you can - if you don't like it or don't want to put up with the BS the job throws at you.. you should not be working in retail. It is a vicious circle.. you saying you don't and shouldn't care continues that circle around and is why people don't treat you with respect. I still challenge you to find out your corporate policy on cell phone use while on the job. I think you would be hard pressed to find *ANY* company that the employees work with the public that allows or condones it. Most retail chains I am aware of ban even having it on your person while you work.

I work retail. As long as we're not at the counter we can discreetly make brief phone calls. Really??! I kind of doubt that. Would you be able to post the name of the place you work for so we can call the corporate office and verify their policy on employee cell phone use? I have a feeling they do not allow it - your manager may overlook it or just not care...but that does not mean it is allowed. The simple fact of the matter is when you work with the public you attention should be devoted to THEM - the paying customer. Anything that takes away from that is wrong and is contributing to the gradual decline of service in the USA.

Great TR! I'm going to be going for the first time later this month and that just got me even more excited!

I wish that show was still on! It rocked! Stacey and I made the drive out to it when we were in Vegas last may. It's out in the friggin middle of nowhere and is *very* pretty. But it has kinda a cookie cutter feel to it. Lots of scary locals gambling as well.

Argh! I *hate* the argument that it is "not fair". All sorts of business and industries offer more opportunities and faster/better experiences for people who can pay more - it is called capitalism! Look at first class seats on airlines - those have been around for almost as long as the airline industry has and offer preferred boarding, lounge access, more room, larger baggage allowances, etc. Is that not "Fair" to me because I can only afford coach? NO! If it was that important to me to have those benefits I would find a way to get them. You even see it on a local level in retail with Wal-Mart Vs. Target - I could go to Wal-Mart and shop in a dirty store with long lines to save a few bucks...but I feel my time and experience is more important to me so I am willing to pay a little more each time and have a shorter wait to check out with employees that have more than 1 tooth! It's the same thing as the six flags vip program on a much more micro level.

Cool Trip Report! I've been around the shopping village part of willamsburg during a visit to busch gardens but I have never actually done the historical tour! I will have to hit it next time.

Yae! That is the worst photo of me ever! It was cool to hang out with you guys out there for a little.. wish it could have been longer!! It looks like you had fun on all your other crazy adventures. Can't wait to see the next parts!

Woo-Hoo! This is great news and long awaited! I am happy that the new ships will still have the classic two-funnel design of the magic and wonder. I can't wait to try and get on the maiden voyage!

Heh.. I still feel bad we didn't drop you back off till almost 2:30... We sure had a great time though! I love the photos of the MK in the Fog - that is a pretty rare site. And no.. the dino at BTM does not have a name..and yes WDW's is pretty much a mirror image of DL's.

I actually think the Wii Vote channel is a cool concept! I love the fact that Nintendo is angling to make it more of a "lifestyle" system. I can't wait to see what else they have up their sleeve!

If you are strictly thinking coasters, the first one that comes to mind in the UK is Air. The name and the flying concept alone brings to mind freedom. You could also take a photo of a young child playing happily in a park and have it as freedom from responsibilities in the world.

I *hate* it when people try and interact with me when I am in a restaurant. I am trying to eat my food...not be part of a show. If I am staring at my food or my tablemate and not making eye contact.. that does not mean - "Come over and talk to me!". Blah!

Interesting. I remember when Johnny Rockets first opened and they were "special". There were not many of them, it was a fun and semi-unique concept. Now they are EVERYWHERE - it really seems to me that the brand is already diluted.. why on earth would he want to add more of them. The fact that they were a destination restaurant is what made them special..now they are like any other chain.

This episode was awesome but very creepy. The whole room with carl was very weird. It looks like darhma is into some even stranger stuff than we realized!
