  1. My other half is Israeli, so I'm celebrating both holidays this year as well. Actually, we're switching roles, I got him 8 gifts, and he got me something for x-mas. And no, I didn't skimp on the Chanukah gifts either! But he is getting a few gag-gifts, like "size queen Gelt" and "Oy Vey body wash". I cant wait to see what I'm getting!
  2. Hey, we fruitcakes are insulted! (JK!) Anyway, as someone who used to work in the industry (No, not at Starbucks, yet...) some pointers.... -You do NOT have to order your drinks in "Fretalian". I use English, and I seem to get the correct drinks. -Hazelnut Fraps are the bomb! Sweet, and great for those that don't like coffee. -Brewed coffee has more caffeine than espresso. So those expensive shots are a waste if you drink them for a pick-me-up. You're paying for the employee to make it for you. The profit return on a shot of espresso is like 4000-5000%. -I like small independent coffee houses myself. But go to Starbucks when convenient.
  3. It is just you. Here's the definition of word "pride", and it has nothing to do with warranting merit or accolade, but more of expression of self-esteem. All kidding aside, no biggie, many think of the word "pride" just as you described, it runs along the lines of people mis-using other words, such as the word "hero". (Don't get me started on that one.)
  4. Just a friendly reminder.... <<<<-STILL a BIG flamer!
  5. Unfortunately, CF won't get rid of SOB entirely, just look how long they've had Mean Streak.
  6. Winning the lottery.
  7. It's not wide screen "quality", it's wide screen "FORMAT", (also known as 16:9) which I don't think Moviemaker supports as output. (Seems to be one of the big selling points of commercial software!)
  8. Well, everything for me is scrapped this year! Since moving for Fort Lauderdale, I haven't had any regular events to attend. And this year is no exception. This year, I'm dating an Israeli, so I'm playing Jewish this year, and celebrating Chanukah for the 1st time. This should be fun!
  9. OK, I'll come out of the closet again! I'M A FLAMER! Dennis "is sooooooooo gay!"
  10. Well, hope someone didn't post this one.... (Way too many to go through!) Kristen Alvey!
  11. Phoenix #4!?!?!?!?!?!?!? What is wrong with people? "It ain't that good!" Dennis "needs to shut up while he's ahead!"
  12. I think I have to agree with Robb on this one. For as much as you hate to see any park go, the only redeeming value of Conneaut is the Blue Streak, and it's not a very good one. You know what they say.... "taer it down".
  13. Dumb question... who the hell is it?
  14. Wow, that is pretty sweet. Could you imagine, Kennywood, down to the river... LOL (Hey, they were the first with the Skycoaster!)
  15. Tommy Tutone?!? Why not Duran Duran?!
  16. I guess each have their strengths, the new live maps had the most up-to-date and close-up picture of Kennywood, so I made my judgment on that.
  17. I am SHOCKED nobody has commented on this yet, but look at the unmatched detail from Microsoft's new maps... Amazing close ups! Here's a picture of Kennywood. http://maps.live.com/ I swear, i didn't enlarge this.
  18. Well, My last coaster (I'm ashamed to admit) was in 2003. I rate my rides solely on the memory of enjoyment. I don't consider depreciation, unless I have ridden that same ride again.
  19. Since I quit smoking, I either power walk, or bike ride about 1.5-2 hours per day, 4 days a week. I still gained weight though.
  20. Now that yahoo is in the overhead image game, here's a pic from Kennywood. You really don't know the dates of these photos, but what's that on the thunderbolt? Tunnel? Tarp? Huh!?!?!? You can see this is off season... What is that on the thunderbolt?
  21. sigh. Yea, the one thing sucky about Fort Lauderdale, we've got such a tiny "park". LOL
  22. I have to agree with this one, alcohol shouldn't be served in amusement parks anyway, it's pointless. (Let the hate mail begin.) Unfortunately, Orlando has the stigma of competing with Las Vegas for the "Most visited tourist attraction in the country" title, and for some reason, Orlando business feels that alcoholics are the majority of spending tourists. But they have it wrong, it's the smokers that spend more money.
  23. I agree, nothing like home made pumpkin seeds, puts store-bought to shame.
  24. Nick's. The Galt Ocean Mile location has been closed for remodeling since Wilma, but they have a 2nd location in Pompano Beach (Federal Highway!) Best pizza and sandwiches, and anything Italian really. When I lived on the Galt, they were the only place I'd order food from, and they delivered until 4am! A little expensive though. (I think its worth it.)
