  1. You know, looking at the pics and video again, I'm just amazed at the precision of the structure. Now that a couple of these prefab woodies are up, and they are ALL popular, I have a feeling (and a hope) that is is the newest trend that the parks flock to. It's been a long time since woodies have been a "hot" trend. It's like these woodies are a guaranteed winner for any park. Would be a DREAM if Kennywood chose one of these for their up-coming coaster. (Or is CP just replaced Meanstreak. LOL)
  2. Keep it coming. I like your captions. Left hand Polar Bear, OK!
  3. Wow, X2 trains look so different, and it's especially noticeable when it's running. Those trains look like there's nothing to them compared to the old monster trains. Thanks for sharing!
  4. I couldn't agree more, LOVE his videos! Kudos Adam!
  5. Don't worry Buddy Johnson, they're not pissed at you. It's obvious that the videos are being overloaded. When you first posted the links, they worked fine. I got to see them.
  6. ^ WOW! This looks very cool! (We posted at the same time, I was saying... Can't wait to see this end up on Youtube, hehehe)!
  7. The only "bad" thing about these "closets" and "attics" is when you guys make updates mid-thread. Hard to keep track of the topics of coversation. Hence, my next reply to this otherwise AWESOME trend of coaster history, that's 4 topics prior to this message...(Confused yet, I am, I'm Polish AND blonde!) Since when did Colossus run a train backwards? I missed this one!
  8. Wow, this was around the 1st time I went to Cedar Point! The memories! Those lines in the brochure are ridiculous. Now-a-days, that's the LAST thing a theme park wants people to see. LOL I too, must give a shout out to the balloon girl.
  9. Even though this park does have a carnival feel to it, you gotta admit, it sure is clean and seems freshly painted for the most part. Cute place, and great pictures!
  10. Sorry to be negative, just a strange opinion here. (But as 'yall' know, I am strange!) Getting more and more American/European dollars/companies involved in this is just opening the door for terrorism. Seems a little far fetched right now, but just wait... This is probably the most amazing project the world will see in our lifetime, and what better way for these extremists to be seen, especially since they can move around so easily in the entire region... Hope it never happens, but if things get built as planned, give it 10 years, if that. They'll find a way to blame the U.S. of poisoning Arab embodiment with western capitalism. And God-forbid we're still in Iraq then. I couldn't go there anyway, but if I could, I would say "no thanks, looks pretty though." I seriously doubt this would be a threat to Orlando, its one major pain in the buttocks to travel to the Mid-east from here, so I'm told by my friends that go there frequently.
  11. This is so awesome! Where did this year go! Happy Birthday Kidtums!
  12. LMAOPMP! That video is histerical! Should be around 1985, when "Wild Life" was release by Talking Heads.
  13. is funny because it's true... dt I see nothing has changed at ACE in 18 years.
  14. LMAO! Really, all I would have to do is be well behaved and act all butch, but I don't know if I can do that for more than 2 or 3 days, tops! I may just burst into Mary Poppins songs in the shower and start vogue-ing in the streets with any reference to Madonna. Guys will start grabbing "Lou credits", and I'll start screaming like a terified school-girl. But then, at that point, we're all getting flogged. BACK ON TOPIC, this is really impressive, and I hope the plans go without a hitch. But the Middle East just scares me. I get chances to visit Isreal now and then, and I always chicken out after all the stories I've heard.
  15. It's because these are not permanant stuctures, they're portable rides designed for traveling carnivals.
  16. For those who can't find it since the zoomed pictures are newer than the wide angles.... Shame I can't go, I'll be jailed for 10 years Kinda looks like a manatee when this pic was shot.
  17. Kudos Jahan! Another one that agrees with your rants about loose articles, and how HW is "Painted Plywood". They should take example of parks like Kennywood, where atmosphere is genuine.
  18. I need glasses, I thought this said "What BRAND" needs to go away. I was thinkin Lipotor. But since we're thinking BANDS, and not BRANDS, my vote is for Soulja Boy.
  19. WOOHOO! Congrats! I know what a wonderful feeling it is to be recognized by your peers, ENJOY IT! SAVOUR IT! MILK IT! EDIT: You made a Jay Leno joke tonight! YOU MADE IT GIRL!
  20. ^ I'm familiar with Eurostar, but an inverted corscrew is much different that an standard one, that the actual track for the entire electment doesn't take as much space, and is quite compact to put on back of a truck. Oh wow, that's the first time I've ever seen that. Thanks!!! It would be interesting to see how that put these on flatbeds. (ie. how many pieces they break the element down to/how they're layed out.)
  21. Just when you think TPR can't get any better, it does! I just spent 2 hours laughing my ass off reading that trip report. And I think everyone should have a Lou tumor. My Lou tumor, very trendy.

  23. Uncle Bernie's in Fort Lauderdale! Supah Ghetto!
  24. There are MANY explanations as to why he stuck with 99% loops. (Thriller technically has a corkscrew in it in my opinion.) Some say it was just his design style, but I think it had lots to do with ease of portability with his designs. Ever seen a portable corkscrew from ANY company? I'm sure one exsists somewhere, but I've never seen any.
  25. Is it fair? No. Do I like it? HELL YEA! When I go to park, (not often as I'd like to,) I go there to have FUN. Part of that fun for me is NOT being on a budget. I see a souvenir, I get it. Funnel cakes galore, in my belly. And a way to purchase getting on a ride almost instantly, PRICELESS. If I have to be on a budget, I'll wait till next time so that I won't have to be. I consider a trip to a park as a "vacation", and if you cant have all the best on your vacation, what's the point?
