Food Rollercoaster at a German restaurant
DenDen replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I too saw this on TV a while back. It's not totally fool-proof, and occasionally, food gets stuck mid course. -
There is a fix to the problem at the Mozilla support site. (NOT the Firefox site! I use the same kind of video on my site, thats how I found the fix for testing on FF!) You literally have to manually install a separate plug-in released separately by Microsoft for the open source community. Good luck finding it, it took me weeks, nothing with Mozilla is ever easy.

Scott's Coaster Closet

I think what everyone seems to fail to notice or mention is that non-banked track made that ride much wilder than its offspring. If the Bat was banked, it would surely still be here, but it wouldn't have been the same ride. Because of the suspension systems on the cars (i.e. all those shocks) banking would force the cars to anticipate the turn, making it much more tame, which is what you have today. -
OK, here's my take! First, I only critique for people to learn and better themselves. I shoot video for a magazine, as well as contract work, so when someone gives me this type of advice, I love it! Don't take offense, please! Dave: Funny funny funny! You got my #1 spot so far! The only video that made me laugh out loud! (Poor Barry!) Even with the basic editing, it's still good! Barry: I always like your videos, you always have good off-ride footage, but this one seemed a tad slower than your others. Loved the on-going Elisa bit! (And you've improved on your vocal volumes, KUDOS!) Darren: Great footage, but "Crazy Train" by any artist became passe when Entertainment Tonight used it for their coaster feature in 1992. Every time I hear that song on a coaster video, I wait for the Paul Ruben commentary! (EEEEKKK!!!) Otherwise, again, great footage! Kevin: Liked the artistic effort, but it was a tad slow going. (I'm sure with practice and input, you'll get this down!) CP is a great place, the video just didn't feature enough of it. Pam & Brian: This definitely seemed like a "beginners" video, which is not a bad thing, it's a great attempt. I did feel though that this was more of a "family vacation video" than a "coaster/park enthusiasts" video.

Having visited both parks, neither of them deserve the title for the moment. CP's rain policy sucks, and if they don't create solutions to this problem, (which there are solutions,) it's just going to get this massive rep of "pay $60 to stand around and do nothing". Coaster enthusiasts are about 5 years ahead of the GP. They've already ticked us off, the GP won't be that far behind. In a place where rain is imminent almost every day, they REALLY need to do something. Magic Mountain may pull ahead on this one. (I never thought I'd say that!) On the tail end of all these massive improvements, and once all the rides are open again, they can really pull it off, regardless of how many coasters they have. (cue music: Tony Tone Toni:"It Never Rains In Southern California") And really, it's all about the full experience of a park. To me, the coaster capitol is any park that has a good variety, nice atmosphere, and all the rides are open! Most mid-sized parks beat these 2 behemoths, hands down! SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread
DenDen replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I may have said this in another thread, but I totally agree with this. B&M today is the same as Arrow was in the early 90's. Every park had one. It gets tired. With the exception of Flyers (to which I haven't ridden yet) every B&M is more the same. We're getting to the point that every state with a park has at least one. -
One last ride for Doppel Looping.

I cannot believe it, I just bragged in another thread 2 minutes ago that we have a schwatz. in South Florida! DAMN! -
But for us "old timers", we all know THE most famous one of all. Anyone else here remember Kim's coaster. (I think it was called the Termite) It was a woodie that had no "lift", and dropped off the back of his house. Sadly, there was a party demolishing the ride, covered in ACE News way back when, and he replaced it with THIS.

Although the proper use of the term refers to a school, many Americans also use is to refer to a former place of work. Hey, it was an exducational experience, let me tell you. -

Another issue you may want to consider. I (as well as a lot of others) block 3rd-party images. If the images aren't on this site, I don't see them unless I KNOW they're from a trusted source. Why do people do this? -blocks ANNOYINGLY massively huge avatars and sig graphics, almost always hosted on 3rd-party sites such as imageshack. -When on a web site, I truly believe the only site that should get the credit for my visit is the site I'm visiting, and to avoid the unfair ratings systems in place by Google and Alexa. -Blocks annoying advertisements on sites (cough screamscape cough) -and much, much more... I'm such a nerd.

Just a little addition to my answers. Robb, have you considered Joomla/Mambo? It seems a CMS (Content Management System) would be a huge help in what you're trying to do in the long term. (From all these bits and pieces in your responses to this survey) And with bridging phpBB into it, user management would be seamless, all content and info is MySQL, and new features are installed on the fly. Maintenance is a breeze too. And contrary to what a lot of people think, CMS's can be made to look like any other web site. A lot of people think they look too nerdy, but that's only because those are the ones you recognize. Just some thoughts.

Scottish DIY flat ride

There are numerous videos around with this same type of stupidity. It's certainly not the first. There's even a version with car seats attached. (I think it's titled "trailer park carnival") It just doesn't suprise me. -
1. What do you find most useful about the front page? Forum Updates 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? The google-based Search Function 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? Nope 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I look at the latest update, and don't go down any farther. 5. How often do you look at the front page? Every Visit 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? Never 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? Nothing really, it covers everything. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc?Actually, if I were designing the front page, I'd make it "lighter". There is a tad too much there, and a lot of it is really dated. I personally feel you could fit everything you need on an 1024x768 screen without scrolling. A lot of your content gets lost past the initial display.

Yea, didn't you hear, we're recruiting by brainwashing today's youth with purple Teletubbies and Spongebob Squarepants. Care to join us in our lives of discrimination, hate, and self-abuse but tastefully decorated homes and BMWs? (JUST KIDDING, no offense taken!)

I went to White Swan a couple of times with friends, since my parents never wanted to go there. Galaxy was actually my first "steel" coaster. (Which I believe is still in operation today at another park!) The park itself was closed for highway expansion, not the actual building of the airport. (Part of the expansion was to include the country's first Mag-Lev, which the city is STILL bickering over. ) But funny, a hotel sits now where the park actually was. The new highway only took the surrounding areas that WS owned. (ie. parking) Finding history about the permanent carnival (as we called it) is quite difficult. I couldn't even tell you when the place opened. My mom has heard of National Park, but nobody she knows of has been there. She was mainly a Kennywood Family, while my dad's side was a West View Family. -

Was that ride's manufacturer Arrow? I know they did people-mover stuff, and those cars look like they're from Arrow suspended coasters. -

They knew, I asked them today. People in Pittsburgh were mixed as to which park they liked best. (Depending on which park they went to as a kid more often.) My dad liked West View better, and the pictures just killed him LOL -

Hehehe, my gay Isreali friend is in Tel Aviv right now. (Actually, he should be arriving about now.) The stories he tells me about the scene in Tel Aviv. Yowzers! Side Question: Have you served in the army yet?
-
It's because you're young, and you seem to be hanging out with guys your own age. It gets much better as you get older, or just pick more mature friends. Here in the homo-capitol of the world, (and working and volunteering in the community itself for 7 years) I avoid the younger set like the plague, for the very reasons you stated. (Though, I have to interact with them from time to time, I too dislike them.) I sympathize for them, they get that way after being beat down all their young lives, and then overcompensate. They're very ugly, they just haven't realized it yet. And when they do, most of them change into normal, friendly people. The ones that don't usually end up as Tina-freaks or prostitutes.

You know what would be awesome? If Kennywood got a hold of this design, and finally built it. What a massively historic project this would be for the locals. Many in the city knew of this "planned coaster" but have never seen it. This is the first time I have seen this model, and it does look spectacular! My question is where the heck were they going to put it, West View was pretty land-locked, and was partially to blame for not being able to keep up with Kennywood. (The Log Jammer @ KW really killed West Views attendance numbers.) You've made my month seeing all this stuff from my old home town. I can't wait to show my family those images!
