  1. Mirrors Edge on PC...motion sickness, wacky video card crashes, and 4-8hrs of fun. I pretty much played the last 1/2 of the game in one 2.5hr go, man I was feeling sick by the end of it. The motion blur, HDR, spinning, low Field-of-View....uhh...
  2. I went on Friday (7.24.09) and today (7.29.09), and both times Flight Deck/Top Gun was closed. Also today Vortex was listed as a ride closed on the sign outside the park, though it opened around 11-11:30. Does the show in the theater below have any effect on Top Gun/Flight Deck's operation?
  3. So...how is manta doing at Seaworld? Good enough for a flying coaster at BGE?
  4. Battlefield 1943. $15. Yeah, it's good.
  5. I don't think I can pay $50 for a wii FPS, when BF1943 is tempting me for $15/lolMSpoints on PSN/XBLA. I think I can wait until it's $20. Maybe.... And why hasn't id/DICE ported their free FPSs (QuakeLive/Battlefield: Heroes) to the wii? Target market right there, middle-of-the-road gamers. Credit card # inside wii already, one click to spend $.49 worth of funnymoney on a hat.
  6. I called Sony to reset my PSN password today!
  7. For Rock'n, Aerosmith must love the 20,000+ people a day who go though that ride, and they get paid by Disney. Studios really could use Star Tours 2.0, that park needs it much more then Disneyland. There is almost never a line for the ride at DHS, but it can easily fill the main line area in Disneyland.
  8. So the rollercoaster is an Everest clone? (edit: nah, but I'm guessing the same ride system)
  9. 6.5 million of 2007 money gets you a Renegade, 10 million of 2009 money gets you a Terminator. That is why they 10+ million dollars of Intamin wood isn't at every park. Though a Mega-Lite + Prefab Wood for a discount sounds like a pretty good idea to me...
  10. Do we think Disney will ever put in a Spiderman-style 3D ride? A Wall-E 3D-screen darkride replacing the studio tour at MGM/DHS would be pretty great, and should move enough people to replace the tour if they do it right. And the Studio's really needs some sort of water ride. Epcot gets away because it's Epcot, but something to get soaked would be nice at DHS. Maybe an Aqua Trax? I can see Epcot getting a robo-coaster (like the ones in RCT3 that have a rollercoaster track). It might only be there for a few years (like 5), but it would be something cool and "futuristic", at least for the time being. And have a system where you can build your own cycle, picking what movements to do where on the track.
  11. If you can confirm it will work with non-SFMM SF passes, I'm buying a SFDK pass and coming.
  12. I always think $13.50 for a ticket is really cheap, but I can get a SFDK ticket for $29.99 online. After 20-30 years, that really isn't that bad.
  13. TPR is (believe it or not), a "high-class" web fourm. This requires a high degree of moderater-intuition, and sometimes it will seem incorrect to you. And hell, sometimes people might make...bad desisons. Fourm moderation isn't perfect, just like anything posted isn't perfect.
  14. Peggle. $4.99. A great way to spend the last few weeks of school.
  15. Would they go 3D? Most of the new video is going to be CG anyway, pop a 120hz projector and give everybody "creative name" glasses, and you got major marketing. I'd think they could use the same simulators, just reprogram. Then again, how much wear have they had going 12hrs a day for 20years?
  16. I should backup my computer... This might take a while...
  17. The main problem with miniDV HD cameras is that you need to play it back in realtime to transfer to the computer, whereas a SD/Hard Drive you can copy the files as fast as it can handle. Then again, DV tape is cheaper then flash cards, and most (all?) hard drive based cameras you can't add more space later. Premier CS4 *should* do AVCHD natively, though I haven't tried this myself (iMovie does enough for me). From reading the internet, as long as you have a fast enough computer, CS4 should be able to do AVCHD just as you would DV. You can burn High Def normal DVDs that play in game consoles (and maybe standalone bluray players) in most HD file formats (Divx/Xvid, AVI, MP4, H264, maybe others), just dump the file onto a DVD then pop it in a 360/PS3. You can theoretically do this over a home network, but I have never gotten it to work, on both my network with a PS3 or on a friends network with a 360. Maybe someday a 720p TPR DVD that plays in computers/game systems?
  18. Something that also happens to me: the finger. Because of where the lens is, it is very easy to get part of a finger in the picture. Like here
  19. I have a 1030SW, and have dropped it a few times, there is a small cluster (about 4) of dead pixels however. Full-size: http://i41.tinypic.com/kanvc7.jpg Resized Picture Dead Pixel
