Chicken wings. (there should be joke about boobs here) -
If you are making a commercial about a HDTV, it should be in HD.

All the big-ass-nerds got it already from a street-date-breaking retailer.

L4D2 went from a hell yes to $130 for a 4 pack. Valve has a great money making scheme.

I'm running 10.5/XP. I used the beta of w7, but for what I do in windows, XP is all I need. Though when games start needing DX10, I'll have to go to w7. I'm not surprised CS3 isn't working right with w7, CS3 mac isn't supported on 10.6, Adobe really wants everyone to upgrade to CS4. For more photoshop pain, the windows version of CS4 doesn't have the GPU-features and the mac version doesn't have 64 bit support, "a good reason to buy CS5" Adobe is thinking...

Trying to decide which PS3 to get
jjeerr replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Random, Random, Random
L4D (and to a lesser extent Duty, which is as fine/as great/as good/as mediocre on PS3 as 360, depending on how much you like Duty) is PC all the way. XBLA (and community/indie/whatever games) is the reason to get a 360. PSN might have flower and PixelJunk, but XBLA has Ikaruga, Portal, Rez, and Shadow Complex. Jasper 360s shouldn't have any problems, just leave them horizontal. And I could fill a 20GB 360 HD within 48hrs, assuming I don't install disk games to the drive (uhh I think I need to buy a 360 now =( or , I don't really know) -

Make sure the 80GB PS3 is a 4-USB port model, anything with 2-USB ports won't play PS2 games at all. All PS3s can play PS1 games. I'm going to guess that you can't use the old DDR mats on PS3 DDR, there are mixed reports of being able to use DDR mats though a PS2-USB controller port adapter on PS2 DDR games, but I wouldn't count on being able to do it. Personally, I'd get the PS3 slim. It's cooler, lower power, smaller, and is sealed-in-box. (note: I have a 80GB MotorStrom-bundle PS3) -
The 9400m isn't that bad, good enough for all "normal" use. But, we don't know how much OpenCL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCL) is going to depend on what GPU you have. Other GPU acceleration (Apple's Core Image, Quartz Extreme, and even Aero Glass in windows) aren't really "sped up" by having a faster GPU, as long as you have a supported card it's good enough. OpenCL should be faster on faster cards though, but again, nothing is really using it yet. Also, it's $300 to go from 15in w/o 9600GTm to 15in w/9600GTm, yeah you get a slightly bigger HD/slightly faster GPU, but it's mostly for the video card.

Uncharted 2 mutiplayer demo/beta: Download it if you got a PS3, it's pretty good. screenys (from in-game replay player):

For laptop screens, get an LED backlight one. You might need to pay an extra $50-$100 for it, but it's worth it for color/battery life. For non-mac laptops, I'd get a dell studio 15, with the cheaper i7 CPU, 4GB ram (4GB DDR3 laptop ram chips are about $300 each, so 4GB is best to get now), 1920x1080 LED screen, for about $1100.

I'm (still) waiting for the rumored single-chip CPU/GPU 360, which should run much cooler then even the 65nm CPU/65nm GPU 360s. Because although my PS3 shoots out a ton of heat, it's at least getting the heat out of the box, and the fans can go into overdrive if they need to.

HL2 (yeah, that game was/is pretty cool)

How fast is Eagle's Fortress?
jjeerr replied to CreditCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As a member of the internet, I don't think Eagle's Fortress will ever reopen. Then again, also as a member of the internet, I didn't think SD2000 would ever reopen, and it did. -
ADHD and Front of the Line Privileges
jjeerr replied to tuxedomask5432's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can skip the lines too. Gold Flashpass, the kick-ass $120 both-parks VIP express pass at Universal Orlando, hell even Disney fastpass and Bush's kinda lame paid-line-skipping system. -
The question is, which mac to get? $999 buys you a computer with more then enough power for non-gaming use, with enough ram/HD space to live with. (something apple, hell most computer companies fail with most of the time.) Though for the new hotness, the slightly faster and much better feeling/looking 13in MacBook Pro is $1199. Keep in mind that it's easier to upgrade (ram and HD only though) the plastic MacBook's then the newer MBP's, because of the removable battery. All "unibody" apple laptops have non-removable batteries, though they get about 1-1.5X the life. Trackpad: I love the new "buttonless" trackpad on the new MPBs, though you should go to an apple store and mess around with them. And all systems have firewire again, someone got fired for leaving it out of the first gen "unibody" macbooks. If you don't feel confident putting more ram in you're computer, I'd put in 4GB at the factory, even with the extra $100 apple will charge over doing it yourself. And if you are on the cheap (well, slightly less expensive), think about getting a refurbished mac. You can get a last-gen unibody macbook (the one without firewire) for about $899, and last-gen 15in MPB's for about $1299.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

I think (and by I think, I mean: "I read it on the internet") that the OTSR makes braking faster, safer, and more comfortable. When stopping on a OSTR ride, you have both your shoulders and your waste as "points" where the ride stops your body. -
I thought the off season was when you needed you're coaster fix, so it's time to post away about which coaster used more steel from Drachen Fire.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed.

From a good oral surgeon (I went to a hella good one), it it's that bad. Really, it isn't bad at all in "pain" areas. Just take the pills every 4 hrs, it isn't that bad. Really. But the place I had was really good, well organized, clean, great people, and a cool xray system (where it had a Alien Escape thing over my head and did a 180 degree xray of my mouth... and man the new Stitch ride sucks, but that's another thread) And do it when you're a teenager, mainly because you don't have to pay for it! -

I can feel most of mouth, getting Jamba Juice to "eat", playing video games, tastes really crappy. Yeah it was pretty good. And pretty bloody.
