  1. It may be just me but I can't see the pictures, it says bandwidth exceeded, but can view the videos. I loved Singapore and hope to get here someday.
  2. Still trying to recover from a great weekend! Thanks to everyone that was involved in the planning! Had a wonderful time both days. Here are my highlights: - Winning the scavenger hunt on Saturday. We had fun doing it and it was exciting to win! Team 38! - X2 ERT - though my shoulders are still hurting from it! - Q and A at both parks. I can not even imagine how stressful this must be for the park management teams and yet they handle it not only professionaly but also with a great sense of humor! - Even though the backstage tour on the Calico Mine Ride was a bit short, it was still really cool. I liked going back there and getting to take pictures, as evidenced by my new avatar! - I love trains so the roundhouse tour was interesting. Those guys clearly have a passion for what they are doing. - I know some people thought the Knott's presentation was kind of boring, but as a lifetime visitor to Knott's, I enjoyed it. I liked hearing the history of the parks and the thought processes behind some of their decision making as well as insight into future projects. Robb - your finesse at handling some of the complaints and issues is astounding. You handle these things much more politely than most. - As always the best part of these things is hanging out with friends and meeting new people. This was once again the case! Thanks again!!!
  3. I understand many people don't care about this but it is enough to get my friends and I to add Universal to our next Orlando trip. We had only planned to add Sea World next time but this looks awesome.
  4. ^How much are those tours? I had a friend do some sort of private tour there and he loved it.
  5. Myself and some friends would totally do this if it wasn't on a blackout day.
  6. We are getting there mega early on Sunday because I absolutely don't want to miss the tours. It is going to be a long day at Knott's so I figure an afternoon Claimjumper break might be needed!
  7. I saw Cats at the Pantages in LA on Friday night. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. About 20 minutes in I shhepishly looked at my friend and asked her if she knew what the heck was going on. She had no idea and neither did I. Myself and the 3 people I was with sat through the entire first act totally confused. At one point I was making up stories in my head and at another point I was wishing the cats would die or something. The 2nd Act was a little better. When the person, I mean cat, sang "Memories" it brought down the house and was awesome. The ending was so stupid though. I can not figure out how this is so popular???
  8. Part 3! I hope I am doing this right. Final Thoughts: The party was a lot of fun. I think anytime you are somewhere with a lot of people who love the same thing, the vibe is great. Sure, there are always annoying people but such is life. The party reminded me a little of the Halloweed Party in Orlando, with the music playing everywhere and all the photo ops. There were little or no lines for everything and all of Fantasyland was open, save the Matterhorn. It was weird (and yet kind of nice) because there were hardly any kids there. The party was from 9-12 on a school night and cost 65 dollars, so I am guessing that is why. One cool thing was the man that is the voice of Disneyland was there recording outgoing messages on people's cellphones. Pretty cool! I hope they keep doing stuff like this! It usually weirds me out when they are in character but she really owned it. Which way to say so long to bad times and hello to good times? Oh yeah! I love it. This was on the castle. Christine is wishing she was married to Bradley Cooper and they are now owners of Six Flags Over Georgia. I actually had a dream of that last week! Parade car? An empty Main Street on the way out. We don't normally take character pictures, but with no line we figured what the heck. There was lots of media there and I was even interviewed! I am gonna miss these letters! It was weird to be the only ones out there. I love California! I passed out on the checkout tables. We were so tired by the end of the night. It was how i felt every night after the TPR trip, happy and tired.
  9. Ok, and now for the party itself. They did a little firework show before they let us in. The CMs were all lined up welcoming us in and wishing us a Happy Anniversary. It was cool, it reminded me of the 50th. They had tables everywhere with treats and drinks on it. They filled these pretty consistently throughout the night and the food was pretty good. They also had hot tea, ice water and coffee. I think everyone wished they had hot chocolate also. They really were very good. I love cupcakes. Cinderella's coach was out. They also had Clarabelle, Brother Bear, and Country bears out. We also saw The Three Little Pigs. Oh wait, it was CLASSIC 3 Little Pigs as the random guy behind me corrected me. The party took place in Fantasyland, where all the rides were open. They also had bars selling beer, wine and soda. Pretty neat to drink in Fantasyland. Giant cookies! I took this home and finished it tonight. At the end of the party, people were taking tons of stuff home! France and TPR Europe trip this year. TPR Australia trip next year! Another photo op - I believe this is a car Walt used to drive around. Much to my delight, Captain EO was also open! They randomly opened the Astro Orbitor also. We did something we rarely do - ride Dumbo. I would only do it with no wait. Tony Baxter and other Legends were there. I was hoping to meet Kevin Corcoran and get him to sign something for me but he wasn't there. She looked pretty ghetto.
  10. I joined D23 in January solely because I wanted to attend the screening of one of my favorite movies, Toby Tyler at the end of this month. I feel like in the past there have been private events at Disneyland that I have not attended and always regret so I decided to go to this one. It ended up being totally worth the $65 for a Disneyland fan. The party was from 9-12 on a Wednesday night. All the rides of Fantasyland were scheduled to be open. We decided to leave work early and do a few rides at Knott's first. The last trip report I did was for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, so I figured why not do another one. One TR every 5 years isn't too bad, right? ADMIN EDIT: I went ahead and adjusted your thread title to include "Photo TR:" at the front, and gave a little bit of info to the subtitle to let people know what they were looking at from the forum. Thanks for sharing this with us! This was our view. We sat behind the 2 drivers who spent the entire time talking about Caitlin and the other girls from Camp Snoopy they would be hooking up with at some party. The big train was not being used that day, instead they were using this mini-silver train. The park ws pretty dead. I heart Claimjumper! They have the best Happy Hour! This was pretty sad. They had Haunt stuff from 2007 . . . AND 2003. The best part was that it was still full price, the same price as other shirts in the store. Let's move on to the D23 Party. This was what adorned the castle. Here was where we checked in. They made a big deal about making sure each person had a packet. We sat down and opened it and all it had was a welcome letter and information about other D23 events. Lame. I brought my new fingerless gloves and I was glad I did because it was freezing! They said that 1900 people attended. We all waited in front of the castle for the party to start. The party started at 9. If you were in the park before closing, you could wait in the Hub area. If you were not in the park they allowed you in at 8:45, I guess some people were upset about this because they missed the opening ceremony. Part 2 coming!
  11. I don't understand how people like Mystery Lodge so much. We only go in there if we need to cool off or warm up. I wish the benches were more comfortable and I would add napping to that list. I think it is super boring and a huge let-down. I was at Knott's yesterday and one of their shops had Haunt shirts and hates from 2003 and 2007 for full price. If you are going to put that old stuff out at least make it discounted! I am excited to hear someone from Haunt present at WCB! Even with Xclerator down, the Knott's day only gets better as far as I am concerned.
  12. I am sure one of the Vegas pros will answer this but I stayed at Caesar's a few years ago and it was really nice and I liked being in such a central location. Our room was pretty good sized, not sure of the cost because I didn't pay. We didn't go to any clubs there but did finish a long night off at one of their bars, which turned out to be fun. I do remember us thinking there seemed to be a lot of old people there and when we checked out the topless pool , the sagging we saw verified that. I did get to meet Oprah there and also had the most embarassing moment of my life there, but I would stay there again.
  13. So sad. Addiction is so devastating. I loved License to Drive and Lost Boys when I was younger!
  14. I think it is cool they named them that, I figured they would choose those two since Harry battled the HornTAIL in the 1st task of the Triwizard Tournament. I can't remember who chose the other one. I can't wait for this! Unfortunately, I may not make it out there until 2011 since so many other tempting trips (Australia, Japan)are sucking up my funds and time off! Thanks for posting these!
  15. Yeah, I read the entire spoiler a few months ago. Too hard for me to watch.
  16. I saw District 9 and Crazy Heart this weekend. Crazy Heart was a great movie and Jeff Bridges should win for Best Actor. I am not a fan of today's country music but I really liked the music in Crazy Heart. District 9 was much better than I expected it to be, kind of sad. I only have Up, Inglorious Basterds, A Serious Man and Precious left. I don't want to see Precious, I heard it was incredibly hard to watch, but have Up and Inglorious Basterds at home waiting for me to view. Hoping to catch A Serious Man at the Laemmle before Sunday.
  17. One thing that helped us get our passes processed a bit quicker was having all the information correctly put in the system before we got there and bringing a printout. They were pulling people out of the line if they had this done and it saved a bit of time.
  18. I think Muppets does a much better job incorporating the 4D effects into the show than EO ever did or is going to. Even though I love MJ, I love Muppets even more so for me: Muppet Vision > Captain EO
  19. My friend is there right now and she said it was a walk-on. She and her family enjoyed multiple rides on Midway Mania while all the craziness went on at Disneyland this morning. I read over on MiceChat that there is no fog effects, starfield, or lasers. I was pretty young when it premiered so I don't remember those things and probably wouldn't notice them missing. However, they did CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE GLASSES!!!!!!!!! They are no longer purple and are instead yellow! The horror! How dare they?!?!?!? Walt would have gotten purple glasses. I want my AP refunded immediately!
  20. If I didn't have a pass and go regularly anyway, I would probably not make a special trip to see this.
  21. Joey, are you a fan of MJ? I could see this having absolutely no appeal for someone that doesn't love his music. I am excited to see this return, even if just for a while (anything is better than HISTA). I loved Michael Jackson as a kid and was mad when my mom forced me to wear a cutesy dress instead of my Beat It shirt to the first day of kindergarten. I have fond memories of watching this with my friends/family when we went to Disneyland. I have "We are Here to Change the World" on my iPod and it still pumps me up when I have a big meeting or something. I think there are is an entire generation of new Michael fans that will appreciate this. I recently had a 3, 5 and 7 yr. old in my car and the 3 year old started a heated debate with his siblings when he asked me what my favorite Michael Jackson song* was. I was considering going tomorrow but think I will wait until Friday because I think it will be crazy busy with annoying people tomorrow. *It's Thriller or Billie Jean.
  22. So happy for USA getting gold in figure skating tonight! I didn't want that cocky Russian guy to win. Also pretty cool that the first Japanese skater ever to get a metal got his tonight! However, I am pissed that I foolishly turned on my computer and was greeted on my homepage with the spoiler for who won. I am not going to keep beating that dead horse too much though. Now off to cry, once again, while they play the National Anthem.
  23. This was a cool annual report, you and Cheryl do so many cool things! I especially like the picture of the Monster Mansion sign.
  24. So weird, as I was reading this page, an Aria commercial came on! This place looks really cool and I agree about all the options they have for iPod, etc. I wish cruise ships would do something like that, the last cruise we were on even disabled the inputs for my little dvd player.
