I agree with you for people that do not visit often. It got OLD getting on the same major rides year after year for almost 10 years! Plus the customer service and line jumping at the park are TERRIBLE. Technically this is considered my home park as I reside in MD. For some reason I seem to visit Hershy and KD more often and back in the early 90's I did KD 3 times in one summer. It too got "old" so I can imagine for the SFA regulars who go all the time, they do feel a need for something big and new. I try now to limit my visits to the same park to every 2 or 3 years for that simple reason. Kennywood is only 90 miles from my house and I still don't go there every year. Breaking up the monotony helps to alleviate the boredom with the same old tiresome rides.

Happy to be of service Shane, I enjoy seeing all the "good" stuff from back in the day and I would like others that have any older stuff that isn't on here to do the same so we can all see what parks were like years ago. It really makes it worthwhile to see the parks you never got a chance to visit and maybe never will. -
This has always been my pet peeve about the parks in general, parking is WAY TOO MUCH!!! It has been about 3 years since I have been to SFA, but I still like it. It has some rides that are definitely worth visiting for and from my memory a very decent water park. All this complaining by people about the park, does anyone remember Wild World and how barren it was? It could still be that way you know. It has developed into a pretty nice park if you ask me.

Yeah, I regret not "finding" this park till late in life. I had always went to Hershey as a kid and into my teen years. I came across a brochure around the age of 15 or so and my parents thought it looked kinda small to travel that far. After Hercules we finally decided to give it a go, not realizing how close to HP it was. Been going back every few years since and it definitely has changed ALOT in those years. I would've loved to been there before all the big "makeovers" started. -

Hercules wasn't a bad ride in the beginning, I just never really understood it. After that big drop, it just kinda meandered around the rest of the course. Going through the last turn before the station they had it banked for speed, but it felt more like you were gonna roll out of the car because it went so damn slow.... -

I agree with SR being short, but it is lacking a lift and what it does do is pack quite a punch in the little bit of real estate. It could've been just another up and over and done with like the other accelerators. Lightning Racer is only 600 feet longer than than the 2 of them, if they are going to go "big", then they need to go longer than that. I would say at least 5000 feet for a good hyper style ride. -

Wasn't there something posted somewhere about filing a permit that required I believe 32 supports that went into water or something like that? Hell, maybe I was dreaming about it but I am sure I read it somewhere..... -

Pretty amazingly well kept for a park that has been closed for 2 years. I am impressed. -
In my demented little mind I can see admission being upwards of 60 or 70 bucks. They have to try and recoup some of that money somehow in a short amount of time. Like others have said, it seems a bit risky with the "troublesome" rides they are selecting. And to think they want to steal a day away from a family planning a week long vacation to Disney, that really seems like wishful thinking. Spending the money to get to Disney usually means you are gonna stay there and see and do all they have to offer. That in itself takes more than a week, I don't see people jaunting off to some high priced park to ride stuff they have at most parks close to their home anyway.

Because Athiests don't kill people. Because nobody but the religious are hypocritical. I didn't know this was a religion bashing thread, furthermore, how many of you making fun of Christianity are celebrating Christmas this year? Yeah, who's the hypocrites now. I will be celebrating Christmas with my family. I also attend church every Sunday, and my wife and I have been nominated to take over the Youth Group for our church??? I don't see this as religious bashing in any way, just agree with everyone else that this project doesn't seem like it is gonna float too far.......

Didn't some old guy just recently try to protest the building of a Mosque at Ground Zero? Are those (Muslim)people going to plan a protest of a different religion's plan to build a "theme" park? This is pure craziness!!!! Maybe they can build some type of rapids ride to simulate the flood, but in that case they can only operate for 40 days and nights a year according to the Bible story of Noah????? I would like to have these people raise the money necessary to build this and then donate it too the starving children in AMERICA!! Imagine how many 29 cents a day they could provide!!!! Maybe they can call this guy, he has a head start on the project....... Here is a piece of the story for those who don't want to read the story, note the dates when he started. This is just up the road from my house... "Two years later, a groundbreaking was held Easter Sunday at the site of Greene's small church. At first, there was nothing but a hole in the ground, the ark sign and wildfire gossip in Frostburg about the church with the hole in the ground and sign. The concrete was poured in 1977. The steel came 22 years later." http://www.godsark.org/index.html http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2007-08-07/features/0708070103_1_noah-ark-richard-greene-frostburg

Coasters at Night
eddie200330 replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Way back when, after Magnum 1st opened, they had different effects in the tunnels. This, coupled with the darkness looking out over Lake Erie, and the at that time height and speed, made for one kick ass night ride. How hard would it be to have the tunnels back to the red strobes like the original year? -

Skyliner at Lakemont Park is actually a pretty fun ride. The so called jack hammering and shuffling are bearable because of the size of the coaster. It doesn't hurt and OMG grab the bar airtime in the back seat on the first drop is insane! -

Only in America can we preach Constitutional rights and then bitch when people use them. I know it is not "right" or proper to do the things they are doing, but they do have a right. Honestly I can't see where anyone could think it was purposeful to protest the things they do, but that is just the world we live in. Not everything is peaches and cream....... I just deal with it. BTW, as juvenile as it was to slash the tires, I find it hilarious...... -

Check with the local Chamber of Commerce, I am sure they have to file some kind of permit, so they would be able to tell you if there were any in the planning stages.
