eddie200330 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One question.... How is that Dodonpa is still running, and according to you all, pretty well, while Hypersonic was a POS??? Oh, and 1 more. Why did they get rid of the Moonsault Scramble?? I was always fascinated by that coaster!!!! -
I like the Sugarland version better, although I can only find a live version of it.

Edge of Glory - Lady GaGa. Awesome song, even better video. Kinda throwback to the 80's style of Madonna/Janet Jackson.

They do shut other rides down in high winds. Sky Ride comes to mind, not sure which, if any others do also. -
Lakemont - Boyertown USA - Lakemont Apparently some dude bought the park and changed the name for a while, and then I believe the state or county bought it back and renamed it back to it's original name.

This was on the late news last night, and the morning news this morning. I don't know why the woman would be upset with Kennywood, everyone should know better enough to leave all valuables in their cars or them square things with keys!!! http://www.wtae.com/r/28273294/detail.html -

If you look at picture back on page 830, you can see a white fin looking object that's on the tower and starts about halfway down. It looks very similar to the kind of brakes used on Intamin Drop Towers. I'd imagine that these are exactly the same thing. So if the cables were to snap I guess it would turn into a drop tower and fall until it hit those brakes. Fun. Spinning AND falling, how sweet would that be, until the big thud!!!!! -

Aren't they considered some sort of landmark? I thought I seen a plaque or something when I lived there the summer of 93. I don't think they would come down anytime soon. -

Does this seem earlier than normal for stuff to start showing up? And wouldn't they try to get the parts closer to the main construction area as opposed to the opposite side of the park? -

Definitely fun, way above half of the other coasters! So what if it is old, according to RCDB there are only 4 of this model left operating. It seems way too many Schwarzkopf rides are disappearing. -

And this is the part that makes me scoff. One shouldn't have to be taught not to grope someone. If I'm at work and I make the choice to grab someone, that's the fault of my boss? No way, that's my own lack of common sense or self restraint. Plus, what difference does it make if he's from India? Yes, they have different culture but I'm not sold on the idea that intentional molestation is one of them. No, he shouldn't have groped them. Yes, this is a valid lawsuit. That point, however, is invalid. One should not have to be taught by an employer what's considered a "special area." That is not the person who trained him's fault in the slightest. How awkward would it be if on the first day of training your boss says "Now don't grab anybody's tits?" At my job we go through all kinds of sexual harassment classes just so stuff like this doesn't happen. I would think that owners of waterparks would put forth some sort of effort in this matter just for the sad fact that there are people out there who, heaven forbid, get their jollies from people running around in swimwear. I can see a valid lawsuit against said employee, but not necessarily the owner/operator. Also, this happened 3 years ago. Would they actually be willing to extradite this man back to America for a trial?
