I remember years ago (30 plus) KD having lots of flats and non coaster rides. Over the years most of them have disappeared, never to be replaced. This an area that could be addressed, mostly with some more intense flats for teens and older people.

So should all parks with coasters built on or before 1990 just start scrapping them because they are too old?? Doesn't seem logical to me.

We learned an interesting thing during our maintenance shop tour at ECB. sdL is getting new trains for next year. They are being made by Gerstlauer. The head guy wouldn't say whether or not they would be lap bar only, he kinda smirked and avoided the question. Also the rides dept. told us during our lunch that they spent a lot of time in VA with I305 getting a feel for Skyrush.....how cool is that.

12 Total LR rides!!!!! What a way to end an awesome day! Thanx Robb, and all of the staff at HP. Also it was finally nice to put some faces with the people who post on TPR. A big shout out to Chris from morning Skyview ride, afternoon Looper rides, and ert on LR, it was nice to meet you.

Sitting here in the Knights Inn on Chocolate Avenue, looks like rain is done according to radar. Yes there is a Starbucks in the Outlets across the street from Lightning Racer beside the Skyrush supports. Let the madness begin!!!!!

The Frost's are gathering the goods and planning on hitting the highway @ 3. Look to be in hotel @ 6ish. Hope the rain holds out! They have been calling for storms around here for the last 3 weeks and nothing, now all of a sudden it is raining!!!!! Damn clouds anyhow..... See ya all in the am, unless anyone is in town tonight and wants to find somewhere to get a drink. The wife wants to ride up the road and check out Hollywood casino for a bit, I want to find a watering hole and have a drink with some locals.

Grouchy, Party of One, your table is now available. At least this one still only has lap bars!!!! I always ride it the most of any of the coasters at HP every time I visit. It was also the first one to get the kids on that went upside down, gotta love the low height requirement!

I'm getting somewhat pumped, but not to the point of defecating myself!!!!! LMAO!

I am pretty sure from our trip in October that all coaster stations have the cubicles you put your personals in before riding. I would only imagine getting a l0 c ker when you go into the waterpark area.

Are the seats free rotating based on weight and balance? That looks insanely sick!!!!

^ Oh dear God, that would have to be one of the most inspiring posts I have ever read, especially in the CP thread. It actually makes total sense.

^^ Now this would be a pay per view worth buying!!!!!! Rumors are nice, but expanding a peninsula in order to dig footers is totally not gonna happen. Maybe some slim chance of building on pylons like seaside/boardwalk type rides, but 28 or 29?? For the love of God get a grip on reality!!

Would it be possible to utilize a 2 sided loading platform with the exit at a point further back like MF at CP? This could help ease some of the loading issues people think might happen.

I can say that the layout looks really nice, and regardless of the restraints it doesn't seem to have the "whippy" turns to warrant any bitching about OTSR's. Nice 85* drop, and the speed seems to be well sustained throughout! The only gripe I have is how this is going to make Comet Hollow look extremely gawdy! It also looks to surround The Comet enough to make it look like it is lost in the jumble of track and supports for Skyrush. Other than that, awesome ride and can't wait to get up there next season and try out these new trains!!!

I'm with you on this one. Though I have been on rides that have let me down, I'm still giddy as hell while riding simply because it's a coaster and coasters make me happy no matter what size, shape or gimmick they are. My thoughts exactly!!!

It may be just me, but does anyone else think that Boulder Dash is an overgrown, albeit a very good one, version of the Idlewild Rollo Coaster? BTW, it sucks to not be able to do the whole trip, but really looking forward to Hersherypark on Sunday!!!!

^ Stop by guest services at the front gate and ask for a family getaway guide. They usually have some pretty good coopuns in there.

The ugh was for the boring meandering layout that just kinda roams around for 2 minutes. The crying is for the fact that it is the tallest woodie I have been on that to me is just flat out pointless!

I'm banking on 1 ride each real quick followed by the walkback. I have ridden both so no biggie, but the walkback is something you don't get to do everyday! I would think it should not be too crowded because of the race up at Pocono that day. You can always ride the rides during the day. I am looking forward to Lightning Racer in the dark. That is gonna be awesome!!!! I just hope this heat breaks somewhat that day and it is not so ungodly hot like it has been around here the past week or so.
