  1. Is it supposed to be a game?? Did anyone try emailing them and just asking......
  2. Philrad = awesome TR's, and this is just as great. Totally agree with the whole line jumping issue, damn near had a few fights in the past also. Nice pics, and 1 question.....how hard would this be to make a day from Western MD through Kennywood to Waldameer??
  3. Strobe lights, pitch black sky, that high up over the beach at night = AWESOME!!!!! Seems to make one think it will be a total mind trip, especially after a few drinks LMAO!!!!!
  4. LaMarcus Brothers?? L A Thompson...... Do the initials A E mean anything, Brothers Mid (B & M)???
  5. To get to DelGrossos from Lakemont, just head North on I 99 from the park and there is a sign about 5 - 10 minutes up that tells you where to turn. Go down the exit, turn left to the stop light, make a right and go about 2 miles straight up to the park. Parking is on the right behind the waterslides. Idlewild sits right on Rte 30 on the left. From their website.... From Altoona: 60 miles. Route 220 South, Route 22 West, Route 219 South. West on Route 30 to Ligonier. Mapquest ...... http://classic.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Tipton&1s=PA&1y=US&1l=40.635799&1g=-78.296097&1v=CITY&2pn=Idlewild+Park&2c=Ligonier&2s=PA&2a=2582+Rte+30&2z=15658&2y=US&2l=40.264361&2g=-79.283585&2v=ADDRESS&2id=1974822#b/maps/l:::Tipton:PA::US:40.635799:-78.296097:city::1:::/l:Idlewild+Park:2582+Rte+30:Ligonier:PA:15658:US:40.264361:-79.283585:address::1::8658691:1974822/io:1:::::f:no::::/e Hope this helps. They are pretty good roads they have you traveling on, not some dinky ass back roads. I would probably go with the website directions, they seem a lot easier and understandable. The mapquest puts you past the park hence the Uturn to get you back to the entrance.
  6. Was just going to say Phantom. Definitely an improvement hands down.....er up!!!! Also mention should go to the new trains on HP's Wildcat.
  7. The thing is... off-seasons are getting shorter and shorter at many parks too with Halloween events, Christmas events, etc. That may be true but it looks good when it can be open for that entire season. I know carowinds and dollywood are good at doing this. Look how SFMM had to close one whole section of their park to install the new coaster. I think I would rather be told ahead of time that the ride/attraction is not going to be ready opening day and let it go at that. I totally agree with the shortened off seasons putting time constraints on new construction. You just can't have bulldozers and cranes running through a park when there are guests enjoying any or all of the holiday festivities. I am kinda glad more parks are getting into the Halloween/Christmas seasons as it gives more of a chance to get around and visit them without cramming every trip into a 4 month season. If this causes some delays for new things, so be it.
  8. I am 37 years old.....am I too old to understand it? Let alone even know what in the hell you are talking about??
  9. Hopefully someone can make a grid and start putting the pieces together to see the "big picture" so we can get some idea of what the hill this is.....
  10. Isn't tomorrow going to be the beginning of the end of the world anyway?? Why waste the money........
  11. We should give it some time but at least CF has done more for the park in terms of big new rides than paramount would've....makes you wonder how Taft/KECO would've done during that same period? Maybe if they hadn't sold to paramount we might've gotten a decent invert instead of the one paramount put in. Yeah, that is kinda what I was going for. Paramount just kinda started ripping the heart out of the place that was part of my childhood. It would be nice to see some of the "family friendly" atmosphere come back. Thrill rides are nice, but you really need some overall unity to the attractions you have. BTW, KD still beats out BG IMO!
  12. Paramount bastardized the park! Prior to their annoying movie related bs, the place was amazing. A mix of this and that, and a way to get out of the real world for a day or so. Hopefully CF can get it back somewhere near its roots. They need to find some old pics and whatnot and go from there.
  13. Easy, just run across the street, buy a bb gun pistol, punch Mr. Six, and shoot a maintanence worker in the rear end. Have fun riding all the rides by yourself....LMAO JK, Vacation was on earlier.
  14. OMG, ejector air of death LMAO, that is so awesome.....
  15. Wow, that just kind of seems to get lost in its surroundings.
  16. Definitely do DelGrosso's in the evening. As far as Space Odyssey, think Idlewild Caterpillar only in the dark with cheesy black light effects and music.... http://www.kennywood.com/site/events.html#cheer here tells you how to get cheap tickets at the market just above the upper level parking lot.
  17. Do you have any kind of discounts for any of the parks??
  18. http://www.delgrossos.com/events.html Looks like July 17 is one of their "big" events. These are a great time at the park because it keeps majority of people off the rides and over at all the goings on!!!!! Also means that Lakemont will pretty much be a ghost town.......
  19. Love the eerie (no pun intended) fog enveloping the park. I would imagine that could make for some interesting rides at the top of the big coasters......
  20. If you are doing Lakemont, take half the day and head @ 10 miles up the road to DelGrosso's. They are also free admission and tickets, or POP, and apparently some of the best park food out there. Also between Altoona and Pittsburgh, in a quaint little town called Ligonier is a small traditional park, Idlewild. Maybe worth hitting up since you are in the area......
  21. The bridge can get it further out to the waters edge for more of a vertical drop!!!!! 126' near 90 degrees!!! that would be sweet
  22. Is it "gimble" or "gimbal"??? Or are they both the same......
  23. Don't know if this is still the case or not, but the park actually had a question on their leads test that asked "what would you do if you were the lead at log jammer and Sky Tower fell onto the ride?" I always thought that was funny. Shart myself and run like hell!!!!!!!
  24. What about the guys in the lab coats, couldn't they be considered Dr's? Did they "leak" anything when those guys talked to them back in the beginning of all this at the park that day?
  25. While in the area, check out Lakemont and DelGrosso's. They are only 10 minutes apart from each other, and within an hour or so of Idlewild. They both are free admission and also offer really cheap pop bands.
