  1. What did James Harrison do that was dirty? The only thing I saw him do was that 100 yard interception...
  2. The Steelers had a great game; Pittsburgh will be partying tonight.
  3. ^ Of course it's okay for New England to win the Super Bowl three times... Yeah, I don't feel sorry for the Patriots or any other team for that matter. The Steelers have proved themselves very well this season; win or lose. If they manage to get the win this time around then it will just be the icing on the cake. Though the Steelers love to win; as do the fans want to see them win, I don't think it's possible for them to disappoint me.
  4. Not much of a rant that I have, but it still pisses me off that I never saved the videos from my old website, Dailey Enterprizes (old computer died a long time ago). I was looking through the web archives and looked up my old site. It wasn't that bad of a site considering I was a 10th grader. It made me a little sad, but now I regret not saving those videos I made.
  5. The better team will win.
  6. It's halftime for the Steelers/Ravens game and I'm seeing some of the worst penalties being called against both teams. As much as I like to see the Steelers get the ball back; that last call (roughing the kicker) was pretty sad.
  7. I don't really like to guess or predict what the scores are going to be like, but I want the Steelers to beat Baltimore. It would be interesting to see if Philadelphia and Pittsburgh end up at the Superbowl together. Western PA versus Eastern PA... I don't want to think about the Superbowl right now though, I just want them to get through the game tomorrow. Go Steelers!
  8. ^^ Well smartass he only plays with the best player in the league (points wise). Crosby is the Captain, he's suppose to be making plays and creating opportunities for the other guys. Top NHL Players Sidney is third in the league. Yeah, I say that's above average in my book.
  9. I didn't know it was April Fools day already. This would make great discussion for The Colbert Report.
  10. Ha, wow I didn't know that about Ruutu. I was kind of disappointed with the Pens's muscle this season since we lost Laraque, Ruutu, and Gary Roberts. Cooke and even Crosby himself have been picking it up this season when fighting was inevitable.
  11. Nothing else going on right now... Mine was a screen capture from Missing Pages' Weekend in LA music video. That pink fuzzy dude; which is the silhouette that is in my avatar, is Jeeters which is where I get my AIM name and youtube name. 12. I don't see how the last airtime hills are painful? All I'm saying is be careful what you wish for because Kennywood could end up being like every other park and relocate the trims to minimize the amount of airtime. So instead of it being a high speed hyper coaster it could end up being a really tall minetrain coaster. Also, there's nothing wrong with having gaps between the wheels and rails because not only does it give that little extra pop of airtime, it aids the wheel assemblies to avoid "binding" which would destroy them. Besides, have any of you noticed how big the gap is between the wheels and rails on the Jackrabbit during its double-dip? Maybe that's a bad example because the Jackrabbit uses up-stop pads instead of up-stop wheels, but all I'm saying is the gaps help provide more airtime.
  13. ^ Ha, well it was a tough crowd and the vocalist was a little turned off by the way the concert went. Also the "stage" was awfully cramped; I was suprised by how much they did move around. Actually, there is video from their first concert on their website and they moved around pretty good. The video quality is shitty and you can barely hear the vocals. Just watch the first song they played and it shows why I like them... Scions of Thrym - Just Step Back & I Survive on Human Flesh (original version) Oh yeah, I forgot about this. At the time of this concert they had a different rhythm guitarist. They've gone through alot of different people these guys...
  14. ^ That list sounds about right. My pens are still going through some growing pains. Aren't alot of their guys coming to the end of their contracts?
  15. ^ Well people who like metal tend to gig them with other metal bands; I've heard worse and I personally like them for their instrumental sound. If you need an example; I took (crappy) video of them last year and their last song was probably their best. Scions of Thrym - Severed Fears http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7jcjNkHNN4 Like I said in my original post, the original bass player (who is in the above video) quit the band a couple of weeks before the taping of my final project. I don't regret doing the video, I would definitely do it again with these guys if I had the chance to.
  16. Yeah, don't blame the band for the bad sound levels. That was all my fault, but I found listening with head-phones helps a little...
  17. ^^ You're right about there not being enough footage to work with. That fade-to-black was put there to hide an awful transition between the 2 shots. As for the heavy use of effects, I thought it was okay because it was a music video. Anyway, thanks for your opinions once again. I did get an A on this project still, probably mostly for the effort and guidelines that I had to follow, I'm sure.
  18. ^ That shaking was done on purpose with Final Cut Pro. Yeah, I failed to explain the elaborate process of editing in my post. It was suppose to give an earthquake quality to it. Thanks for the honesty though...
  19. Well... I guess there isn't a better place to post this. For my final project in TV Production at Robert Morris University, I chose to do a music video for my friends' band. From what I heard no-one has attempted a thing like this in this class, but I really didn't have any other good ideas. Some history on my friends' band. I knew them from my previous college; University of Pittsburgh - Titusville, and I always admired the instrumental talent that the 5 person group had. Their band name; Scions of Thrym, is referring to the Norse Mythos Thrym. I guess now is a good time to point out that the band's genre is metal. While I'm not a huge fan of the vocals, I can still appreciate the originality in their theme. Now on to the video. There were some circumstances that plagued the band and I from the very beginning of the day of filming, so you must forgive the unbalanced shot changes and audio levels. When the band first arrived, it was brought to my attention that the bass player that I was in contact with actually quit the band 2 weeks prior to filming. However, they did find a replacement to play rhythm guitar while the old rhythm guitarist would play bass. Unfortunately, it was then said that the new guitar player got into a wreck. He had to get his car towed to a garage 20 mins away from the college. So now with the band member's wrecked car on my conscious, I thought the day was totally ruined. Luckily the band told me that the song could be played without a second guitarist. Well then things went along smoothly.. for about 20 minutes. I didn't imagine there being anyone around to help me at this time because I wasn't scheduled in the studio for another hour, but one guy showed up from class to help out. I was really lucky he did because it turned out later that he would be the only one to show up. Usually there are 4-5 people required to run the studio during a recording(3 people on camera, 1 on audio, and another to switch between the cameras and then they help set-up the set), but amazingly the one guy (Bill) and I pulled it off. We were able to get everything set up in enough time to leave room for white-balancing and sound checks. We thought we were free of worries until the band was done with their warm-up run and the director from the office upstairs told us that everyone above the studio (there are offices and a library) can hear us and that we were disrupting them. Well fortunately I managed to buy a 10 minute window for the band to play, but it meant that we were only able to get one take on the audio. Now we were under the gun and had to get a take in. For my final project I had to produce a scene sheet (shot list) that had what exact shots that I would get with what camera on what angle. My original plan was intended to include the other guitarist and the use of 2 takes of the band, but I had no choice but to throw the plan away and shoot from the hip (hence me apologizing for the unbalanced shot changes). Like I said, it was just Bill and me who were there, but my professor decided to help out with one of the cameras; as well as bring a TH to come help too, so my professor was on camera 1, Bill on camera 2, the TH on camera 3 and me up in the booth handling the shot changes all by myself. We set the audio levels ahead of time and prayed that they would be okay. Then I hit record on the tape deck and sent the 5, 4, 3... que to the professor to signal the band. Well that day was the closest that I've ever come to crapping myself. Fortunately, we got the 1 take that we were allowed with live music and managed to get another with no music and got close-ups, etc. I give to you; Theme Park Review, my blood and sweat... Actually, I'm not that dramatic, but this was my toughest undertaking and maybe someone might appreciate the effort put into it. I can take the truth... well sort of, but I wouldn't mind having some comments on the video. Scions of Thrym - I Survive on Human Flesh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt8_bc6GLQI
  20. ^ I can't post there even if I wanted to. My account mysteriously disappeared a long time ago and I can't make a new one because my email is still in their system. Strange... Well the amusement park business is just that; a business, and the management at Kennywood has changed many times in its 110 year history. Kennywood is evolving, like a good traditional park does.
  21. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It would be pretty sweet to have that bunny hop in there. There's never too much airtime...
  22. I think this was the first year since I was 12 that I've missed going to Kennywood. I guess I've taken it for granted that Pittsburgh has a great amusement park...
  23. It's been quite a while since I was on Westcoaster and the site looks very cool I must say. Nice pictures too!
  24. Make sure you read a Kennywood Park book or watch Kennywood Memories because back in the 1970's and 80's it was considered one of the best parks in the country and at the time, "Rollercoaster Capitol of the World" with five rollercoasters (I think they were regarding the caliber of the coasters, not the number). Obviously, parks like Cedar Point and Disneyworld have taken that title away from Kennywood, but Kennywood is still very much a contender among the parks out there. As for Pittsburgh being small... I assume you mean the Downtown area because the Metropolitan area of Pittsburgh is about as big as Allegheny County itself and it definitely reaches it's way to the North Hills which is where I live and someday it will probably reach all the way out to Cranberry.
  25. Haha, I knew they would adopt the season passes; though they could end up with a few "babysitter" circumstances, but it really can't hurt them to do this. I personally won't be getting a season pass because I'm becoming a coaster coward (going to amusement parks is no longer a necessity for me), but I'm sure this will go great for the park.
