  1. I preordered both, but I'll probably sell the Xbox and keep the PS4. The PS4 just seems to appeal to me more overall right now. Eventually I'll probably buy an Xbox for the exclusives, but I'll be pretty satisfied with a PS4 and my PC for a while.
  2. Star Wars Battlefront 3 has been announced! Finally! http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2013/06/10/e3-2013-battlefront-3/
  3. The best way without taking it apart and voiding the warranty is using a can of compressed air, being careful of sensitive components, then vacuuming out whatever dust you loosened. If you do clean it out, try to get the heat sinks also. Many people forget about them and, while cleaning the fans does help, dirty heat sinks greatly contribute to overheating.
  4. Speaking of DayZ, here's some new info on the standalone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhSDSUH9Eps The Arma III alpha is on Steam if you want to try it out. Right now the $33 only gets you the alpha build, but you will also get the beta and full game once they are released. I'm considering it.
  5. I'm disappointed the chaser lights don't work anymore in Maverick's tunnel, considering the huge deal they made out of them when they were installed.
  6. I saw your first post asking why CoD4 was so much better, and with this post you practically took every word out of my mouth. It is the best CoD for those exact reasons. I have given every CoD a solid chance, but I always gravitate back to this one for those reasons.
  7. I was there yesterday, 6/5, and Dragster ran without a hitch consistently all day. It's normally hit or miss with that ride. I've been there on days like you described, and days like yesterday.
  8. Before the refurb on Noah's Ark at Kennywood, you used to enter through a whale's mouth. There are rumors they want to refurb the ride again and bring that part back.
  9. I would expect heavier crowds. Be prepared to buy a Fast Lane pass.
  10. I was there on Mother's Day, where the winds constantly hovered around 15-20 MPH all day long. Maverick and MF had rolled back, and everything else was closed except for most of the flats and WT. Maverick was opened later in the day, along with Mean Streak, but that was about it. Winds are worse than rain, in my opinion. At least in light rain some coasters can still run one-train-operations.
  11. I'm disappointed in the Xbox One. Microsoft is so focused on TV and DVR capabilities, they stray away from the fact that this is primarily a gaming console. How many people are really going to buy into a bad cable replacement service through XBL? And requiring Kinect now for everything? They add all these "features" that have no benefit to the consumer. Now couldn't be a better time to switch over and build a PC.
  12. That was mainly a response to the BF3 comment. DayZ is nowhere close to being similar to BF3. Those tools playing in the IGN videos have no idea what they are doing, please do not play like them if you do get the game.
  13. Be forewarned though, DayZ is NOT a deathmatch game! There are servers and areas that are, but for the most part it is a survival game set during a zombie apocalypse, meaning that there is a lot more to it than just running around mindlessly and killing the first player you see. Watch some of to get a good idea on how the game is played. Generally, average laptops aren't great for gaming. They overheat easier and usually lack in certain performance areas necessary to run large-scale games like DayZ smoothly, only to name a few issues. Unless it's geared towards gaming, you would probably have trouble running it smoothly. If it's feasible, I would suggest building your own gaming desktop PC. One for your purposes wouldn't be all that expensive, and it's not really that hard at all to build.
  14. You'd be surprised. I once saw the maintenance crew change out a bad wheel on WT and get it up and running again within 30 minutes of their arrival to the ride.
  15. What are your specs?
  16. DayZ is awesome and high recommended, but I'd wait for the DayZ standalone game. That's coming out soon and using a bit of the Arma III engine.
  17. The fans? Like a board you write on. They are in seemingly every queue at some point along the line. On WT there is one right before you go in the tunnel under the spike, Mantis has one before the bridge, and Maverick has one at the bottom of the stairs on the wall. There are no markers or erasers with them, and they are mostly blank (except for a little GP graffiti on some). I wish I got a picture, but they look like this.
  18. What's with the little whiteboards in almost every queue line?
  19. I was there today too and completely disagree. There was still plenty to do despite some major coasters not being open. WT was open all day, along with most flats, and slowly most of the other coasters opened up, save for the larger ones. Mostly everything became a walk-on after the initial GP flocking to the next thing that moved. Maverick was fixed and was even a walk-on at about 6 or 7. I actually enjoy days like these because you do things and ride things you otherwise wouldn't on a normal day. I had a blast riding things like Cedar Downs, the Cadillac Cars, and other random flats I've never been on.
  20. Yep, Maverick is at the top of the inversion right now. The only things open really are some flats and WT. Mean Streak just started testing, but that's about all.
  21. I usually find that the smaller towers pack a larger punch in terms of forces and airtime. Dr. Doom at Universal is one of the most intense S&S towers I have been on, even though it only stands 200 feet tall. Whereas Power Tower at Cedar Point, despite it's massive size and four towers, provides a pretty mild experience...at least I think so.
  22. Penguins got Morrow, Murray, AND now Iginla. They are seriously gearing up.
  23. ^^ You shouldn't need them that day. Math and Science week is the week before, so you'll be clear of that. And as Ernie said, there will be plenty available once you are in the park itself.
  24. My vote goes to Orlando. Robb broke it down the best, but I will say this. I'm as much of a thrill seeker as anyone, but there's just something about the parks at Orlando that always seem to "wow me." The immense amount of time and detail put into everything at Disney and Universal is simply incredible.
  25. They are referring to the Color Me Rad 5K Marathon, which takes place on June 22 at Darien Lake.
