  1. That's your opinion. I've stayed there numerous times and have never had a bad experience at the Breakers. They are no 5 star resort, but they get the job done, and are only there for you to sleep and relax in anyway.
  2. Fahrenheit today at Hersheypark. That lift and drop never gets old!
  3. Had a great day at the park today. Everything had short line and some were walk-on. Skyrush is an insane ride, Hershey definitely has themselves a winner! You can get two slightly different experiences depending on which seat you pick. The middle is more of a traditional coaster experience, and the outsides are a lot wilder and out of control. Every seat, though has an incredible open feel. They both give insane experiences, but I'd say I prefer the middle slightly more (only very slightly). I'm one that likes to just go-with-the-flow on rides, if you will, rather than fighting them, Voyage-style. Either way, that train absolutely hauls during every point in the layout, from the lift hill that you go FLYING over, to the airtime hills, to the final quick turn at the end...it just never lets up, much like I305 (or a mini-I305 as many have said, which is definitely the most accurate way to describe this). Best of all, NO TRIMS OF ANY KIND! Wooo! I really didn't see any problem with my "thighs hurting." Sure the airtime was intense, but it's similar to what is found on I305, El Toro, and Maverick. You come back to the station a little stapled, but no more than you do on Maverick. The only complaints I have with this are not with the coaster itself, but with little nit-picky things on how loading is managed and how the station was designed. -Skyrush needs a single rider line, or at least better seating management from the ops. Each and every train had about 5-6 empty seats (sometimes more, and sometimes two together)...even in the morning when the queue was full. -People seem to get more confused by the rotating bins than they actually help. Hopefully it's just a learning curve and the process will be mastered over time. -The fact that people exit the same side they enter really slows things down. The crew has to wait until everyone has gotten their belongings and left the area to open the air gates for the next people to board the train (and of course you always have the people who fool around and don't move swiftly). Again, this ride just opened, so hopefully bugs and kinks will be worked out eventually...these are just a few things that irked me a bit (albeit nit-picky). This ride is definitely in my top-5! Get out there and ride Skyrush people! I also found this a bit odd today, and maybe someone can answer this for me. Every single coaster had one, two, or a few of its middle rows chained off, but they were still loading those seats. Why? SDL ran one train all day today. I saw mechanics looking at the other one in the morning, but I never saw them again after that.

  5. How is Hershey's skip the line system? Similar to Fast Lane at Cedar Fair parks? I might go on Saturday, so I'll probably need it. Also, can anyone tell me where the nearest Giant is? I'd hate to pay full price at the gate when I can just get a ticket there.
  6. It's a sad day for Socom fans. All of the PS2 and PSP Socom servers will be shutting down on August 31. Socom 2 was what got me into online gaming and, in my opinion, the greatest online game ever created. Nothing beats the community that game had. RIP old friend.
  7. So what's the over/under for how many weeks after opening day this thing will open? 2? 3?
  8. It is not open yet and a date hasn't been announced. The following message is at the top of their website: "The Black Widow is not yet open. Check back for the exact date."
  9. More than likely they have had this coaster planned for a few years. Ouimet only assumed the CEO position on January 3, 2012.
  10. Every ride at some time comes to a point where it has run its course, no matter how iconic. I feel as if any year now could very well be the year for Space Spiral. Like I said, they don't necessarily have to completely remove it if it "holds a special place in their hearts," per se, but having two observation rides so close to each other is rather redundant and pointless, in my opinion. I would honestly welcome the idea of moving it to the other end of the park to get some cool and different vantage points that are brand new.
  11. That would be interesting. I think it would be awesome if they turned Disaster Transport back into Avalanche Run. I also wouldn't be surprised if Space Needle was moved at the very least, if not removed. With Windseeker there now, it's kind of redundant in that location.
  12. I bought mine at the merchandise store across from TTD, I think it is called "Extreme Coaster Gear," or something of that nature, and the girl pulled out a sheet from under the register drawer with a bunch of the wristbands attached to each other. About half were already missing, so maybe they only give them one or two sheets at the start of the day, and once they're gone, they're gone? I don't know, but I would say that if anyone ever gets turned down at one place to definitely try another store, as there are many places that sell them in the park. There are even stores in Frontiertown which sell them that I would assume move them slower than stores on main midways.
  13. Preferred parking is $6 this year, but I do suggest parking in the (free) middle section near the escalator. It's not a bad walk by any means.
  14. Great update Robb! It was nice meeting you, and being able to see a little bit behind the scenes of what goes into making those shows was really cool!
  15. The tickets they gave out are full-day tickets, valid any time up until Sept. 16.
  16. Sky Rocket at Kennywood in the rain just a few hours ago.
  17. ^ That side of the station is still accessible from the regular line. I, too can attest that Fast Lane is a great addition. It was awesome skipping the two-hour line for MF yesterday...multiple times! I got to do everything I wanted, plus multiples of most rides, on a crowded day. They are definitely worth every penny. 18. Kennywood went up a few notches in my book after today. Not only did they run all the rides in constant rain all day long, but they also handed out complimentary tickets to everyone as they left. Classy move Kennywood! A few brief notes from today: -Black Widow looks amazing, it looks absolutely massive in person, not to mention how close you'll be able to get. Think of MaXair without the grassy areas surrounding it, and just a fence around the round-ish loading area. I can't wait until this beast opens. -They were testing the hell out of BW for most of the day too, so I'd expect it to open soon. -The "Painting" of Kenneth Ghostwood in the GE pre-show room is missing, so they only had the sound and lightning effects. I wonder if something happened, or if it is being re-habbed? -Still no flood effect at the end of Noah's Ark. -Auto Race and Volcano were the only rides posted at the entrance as being closed (besides BW), and I know their website says that Auto Race won't open until sometime in June.
  19. I'll be there on Saturday. My first time ever buying a CF Platinum Pass!
  20. I stopped reading after that part. Yeah, blame Fast Lane on the wait times, forget the fact that he went during one of the busiest times of the year.
  21. It wouldn't surprise me if Seau's brain was equivalent to that of an elderly man in his 70s, if not older. It's so sad seeing some of these former players deteriorate so quickly because of concussions and whatnot.
  22. If anyone was wondering about a possible opening date, this is posted on the top of Kennywood's web page: I'll be there Mothers' Day (the 13th), so I'm a little disappointed, but that's okay, it's not like Kennywood is that far away from me. Looking forward to seeing this thing in person next weekend! Anyone going on the 5th to check BW out?
  23. ^^ Depends on the market, in my opinion. I know I've heard others on here say that their niche is advertising themselves to young adults as an "extreme" park with tons of thrills. If that's what works, then great. I just find it funny how quickly they jumped on the opportunity.
  24. Apparently the coaster crown still matters to SFMM, at least from a marketing standpoint. They certainly didn't waste any time letting the world know they now have the most coasters! The headline to their latest Facebook entry, posted a few minutes ago:
