  1. A mini-TR with some short random notes of my incredible visit this past week. Finally got to check out Diagon Alley this past week and I'm thoroughly impressed. It had been 3 years since I was last at Universal, so new to me were that, the Spiderman update, DM, and Transformers...definitely all great additions! I had ridden Transformers in Hollywood last year, but being able to ride that and Spiderman so close to one another was pretty cool. I actually like Transformers slightly better, and think it's an under-looked gem of an addition, overshadowed by Diagon Alley a bit. One thing I had a blast doing this trip was trying to get a higher and higher score on MIB. In the beginning of the week I wasn't even breaking 100k, but the last day my highest was 340,925 without the bonus. Definitely one of my go-to rides at USO, and top contender for one of my favorite shooting rides, along with Toy Story Midway Mania. The rain Friday made for an interesting ride on Dragon Challenge. Red was HAULING around the course! One last little note that impressed me was that they let us stay in Diagon Alley Friday night until 8, even though the rest of USO "closed" at 5 for HHN. Kudos to them for that, as we basically had the whole area to ourselves, and Gringotts was a walk-on for over 2 hours.
  2. If anyone is into pure Rock n Roll, I'd recommend Hudson. I've been listening to their EP a lot lately. They're pretty good, check it out! Ferras is another one I've been listening to recently. His music is a bit softer, but is good to just vibe along with. His song 'Legends Never Die' is great also!
  3. Looks fun! Hopefully this won't try to rip your soul from your body like GL does.
  4. Fahrenheit's crew was doing a great job at the end of June.
  5. I find it hilarious and ironic that you would say this after just chewing someone out over having a good time at a football game. Lighten the f*ck up, people!!!! Don't get me wrong, I love high-fiving it up with the drunks at sports games, and normally don't care what people around me do. Just that, there's always that one guy at a sporting event that ruins it for everyone around him by acting obnoxious, sometimes instigating and starting a fight. When you spend thousands of dollars every season to attend these events, it's annoying. I apologize if I came off as uptight, as I'm a pretty tolerant person. I'm on your side, I loved that gag CP pulled, and thought it was in great taste!
  6. What does an NFL game have to do with a camp out at Cedar Point? I have season tickets to an NFL team and HATE IT when inconsiderate people just stand in front, obnoxiously blocking everyone. And yes, everyone around me who's a season ticket regular shares the same view. It's usually the drunk morons that don't remember anything and end up getting kicked out. No, not everyone wants to stand, and you can still be plenty loud from your seat. Either way, that has nothing to do with the "party poopers" being talked about here. People these days are getting so sensitive, and can't take a joke anymore. What did they expect when signing up, a 5-star accommodation and pampering experience? I'd like to see how they handle camping out in actual woods. Glad to hear it was an overall great time, though! Seems like a really fun event!
  7. I think we all prefer lap bars, but B&M has yet to take that leap on a inverting coaster in this country. Maybe they will, maybe they won't.
  8. Mantis isn't an airtime machine, so it wouldn't be taking away from anything. Ever since they've allowed some play in the Gatekeeper vests, I've been able to move around just fine. The extreme restrictive-ness is only when they're locked.
  9. Floorless trains with the vest restraints would be cool.
  10. A "running out of room" and "build a coaster over the lake" post within 5 posts of each other. Is that a new record?
  11. That's good to hear, because that's when I'll be going. Resort guest too, so early entry...double bonus.
  12. My dad had a heart attack and open heart surgery (single bypass) in 2007, and has made a full recovery, riding many coasters since then.
  13. Either that or made entirely of Skyline Chili.
  14. In real life, as in your daily commute to work and such? That's not really the point of cars like that. Joe Smith isn't going to buy a Koenigsegg One:1 as his grocery getter. That's like saying, what's the point of a 400+hp Mustang if you live in a suburb with a speed limit of 25mph? It's all in the love and passion for cars.
  15. Here are some pics from various car meets I've attended so far this year in an attempt to revive this thread.
  16. I was at HP the past two days also. I didn't find the operations so great. I understand rides like Fahrenheit have to stack to a certain degree due to the design, but horrible stacking was everywhere, and it usually took a good few minutes of a train just sitting empty in the station for them to even open the loading gates. Not to mention the time it took to check restraints and dispatch. Luckily crowds were minimal so it didn't really matter, but on busier days lines would have been much longer than they should have.
  17. That's probably the most accurate description of GL I have ever read.
  18. I loved Sledgehammer! I didn't know what to expect when I rode it in 2012, and was surprised to see it even open and operating, but I knew that I had to get on it in case it broke down. Definitely one of my favorite flat ride experiences ever! I went to CW two days, and the next day it was closed all day, so I'm glad I did ride it, and multiple times too.
  19. It's not. Hasn't been for a couple years now.
  20. Pipe Scream is still down as of today. Did a lot of testing, some full cycles, some not, but never opened.
  21. Doesn't Disney only use that for promotional purposes, thereby not making much money, if any from it? Maybe they'll add Potter rooms sometime in the future to one of their resorts, but I imagine Universal's current response to be similar to this:
  22. This could be old because I didn't make it to Kennywood last year, but I like how they've added a few effects to Ghostwood Estate. Nice to see they really care about the upkeep of one of their best rides.
  23. It would be cool if Kennywood refurbished Noah's Ark for 2015.
