  1. Are the trains going to stay bare metal like that, or is there going to be some sort of covering? Great pictures, by the way!
  2. Only 3 days left to enter the naming contest!
  3. Well, I was thinking about going there this summer for it, but I guess not now. If I did go at all, it'd be in June. It's a shame that it keeps getting delayed.
  4. ^ Yes! I wear them to EVERY park I go to. They are especially helpful for me because I wear glasses.
  5. ^ It's really up to you on whether it should be or not, but I count them as new. I counted X-Flight and Firehawk as 2, and this summer I am going to ride Voodoo, counting it as another credit aside from Superman: Ultimate Escape/Steel Venom. When a coaster is relocated, it has a whole different scenery, and, who knows, maybe they might use some new parts on it, like a new chain or wheels or something. That would make it somewhat new and different than the original, I guess. So I do count them as separate credits from when they were in their previous location, but it's totally up to you.
  6. Out of the ones I've been to, definitely Conneaut Lake Park
  7. Gonna have to disagree with you there. Scream is definitely one of the B&M's in the park that coins the B&M signature roar. The conditions on the day I went must have affected it, because I've been to Cedar Point where one of the granddaddy of B&M roars, Raptor, was fairly quiet. Floorless coasters, in general, aren't as loud as early to mid 90s inverts, and stand-ups, though. At least the ones I've been on. I was surprised at how loud it's roar it was for being built only in 2003. I guess SFMM didn't do anything with sand, like some other parks do, to quiet it down.
  8. Cool update! I miss Scream, one of my favorites at SFMM. Sounds like a cool concept that could be used on a lot of coasters around the country to enhance the ride experience. Surprised people can still hear it even over the B&M roar, without it being too loud and annoying for people waiting in line. Although, Scream is a newer B&M, so it's roar isn't as loud as some of the older ones elsewhere in the country/world.
  9. I think the trains are to go along with the new logo, and I don't see why they'd just repaint the trains and not the track and supports.
  10. Actually, you'd be surprised at how many coasters are built that way. Take Laser at Dorney Park for example. I have no idea why they are built that way, but there must be some reason behind it. Great PTR, by the way! Also, a little off-topic, but does anyone know when Robb is going to release his full update of the Midwest Trip? Just curious.
  11. I like the fact that you can watch streaming video of people on the ride.
  12. ^ Nice! Yeah when I buy the package, I go so early in May (the weekdays after opening weekend; there is NO ONE there...everything is a walk-on), that I don't even have to book the package until literally 2 or 3 days before.
  13. I've never ridden one, so I'm actually pretty excited to do so. I mean don't get me wrong they are thrilling, but they are not worth the upcharge price. Oh yeah, I completely agree, but Cedar Point has a deal in May where you pay one price for a package and you get a room (2 nights), 2 starlight tickets, 2 full day tickets, 4 Challenge Park tickets good for anything in Challenge Park, coupons for later in the season, and much money. My mom and I have been doing this for the past 5 years or so and I think maybe one or two years we used all of the Challenge Park tickets because it's always too cold/rainy to mini golf, and I'm not a fan of the go-carts as there's always obnoxious kids who race that try and ram into you, or it's raining. So I'm just happy that there's something I can actually use the tickets on this year so they don't keep going to waste.
  14. When I was at Virginia Beach they had one, but I didn't ride it. It looked pretty frightening, though.
  15. I've never ridden one, so I'm actually pretty excited to do so.
  16. I'mnot 100% sure about Stealth, but I know for sure that X-Flight (Firehawk) does and that was the second flying coaster built, built in 2001.
  17. ^ The first Flying coaster goes to Stealth, it could possibly be the first B&M flyer in the US. I also know it wasn';t the first double station because Vekoma Flying Dutchmans have double stations as well.
  18. Magnum XL 200. First Arrow Hyper Coaster.
  19. I'm going to GADV this June and, other than the kiddie coasters, I hope I don't miss any. What I'm worried about is that the park closes at 6:00 pm, but I'll be going more than one day, so I have a good feeling about it.
  20. Great pics! I really can't wait to return to KI in June!
  21. Great pics! I'll really miss having such a great floorless less than an hour away (from my camp...2 hours from home). The regulars at Kings Dominion are getting a quality coaster.
  22. Confirmed: Six Flags Great Adventure (New) Dorney Park (New) Cedar Point (probably at least twice, been there before) Kennywood (been there before) Kings Island (been there before) Waldameer (New) Possibility: Darien Lake (New. Definitely the best possiblity out of all the 'possibility' ones) Six Flags America (New) Hershey Park (been to before) Coney Island Cyclone (New) Morey's Piers (New) Canada's Wonderland (New) Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom (New) Rye Playland (New)
  23. ^ Steel Hawg is going to be 96 feet tall with a 120 degree drop. Link
  24. Did you ride Tower of Terror before 2005, or just recently?
  25. Steel Dragon 2000 is the first (and still only) coaster to exceed 8000 feet in length.
