  1. I usually browse for sources by checking the bottom of the Wiki page on a given subject and use info/cite based on those. I will henceforth attempt to work this phrase into daily conversation. Oh yes the sources at the bottom are good just never cite wiki itself. BTW I just want to throw out there that I am so glad the Yankees had the talent and experience to win because Girardi made a lot of mistakes, IMO of course hes the one paid to do it but I pay to complain about how they do their jobs
  2. Weak point, Matt. That may have been a valid point in 2004, but today, its a pretty reputable source for information.. just sayin' If you can't use it as a source on research papers, it isn't a reputable source. I dare you to cite wikipedia in a thesis and/or a whatever they write to become a PHD In 4 years of college every professor told us that the paper would receive an F if wiki was cited, not what I call reputable.
  3. Boston fans need to be quiet now its Yankees time. WOOO!!
  4. The one of Demon Drop and the Seagull is easily the best photo in there. Good TR. Hope you enjoyed the last night of Scares!
  5. ^And the AL teams still win with a DH or without.
  6. 7/20 - I don't know years very well Should've been 8 but I missed an inversion in Hulk somewhere. Zero G, Cobra (2), Loop, Corkscrews (2), ???
  7. My assumption is that he is either seeing bumper "karts" or "rollercoaster" as the error, both of which are not really errors.
  8. I had a great end to the season. I had a late make-up time yesterday so I decided to grab my last ride on my all time favorite - MF! It was a 20 min wait, and I waited for the second row because I didn't have time for the front. Get up to the gate was next to go when a single rider was in the front! So I got a free pass on the front seat! It was a great end to a great season.
  9. QFT I saw this movie a few days ago and it blew my mind. It really shows how much dedication Jackson had to these concerts and the whole thing was just unbelieveable. I was a little agrivated that there wasn't any material from Off The Wall and barely anything from Invincible, but other than that, it was EPIC. 10/10 I actually refuse to see this movie. It is nothing against Jackson, I have no quams about him at all. The problem I have is with the celebrity garbage. I won't say that this movie is bad or anything but I speak on principle here. It angers me when they do things like this because no matter how bad the actually movie (Production, editing, whichever part about it) is it will always be touted as the greatest movie ever made and it was such a great depiction of a great man/woman. Anyway glad you enjoyed it and I hope it really was a good movie, though I will never be seeing it.
  10. Catagory Time! Comedy - Family Guy, so original I know but I can't get enough of this show! Drama - House Action - 24 Crime Drama - NCIS or CSI Miami either one Reality - Amazing Race Educational - Mythbusters Sports - PTI!
  11. Yes horror movie remakes are pretty awful, though can be fun for comedy sometimes! The acting was pretty bad but it made it more realistic to me, it almost seemed as if the people were real people who were trying to act for the camera. If you put people in front of a camera they act awkward. If the actors were flawless it would've killed the realism a bit. That is my take on that. On the Anti-Christ thing I actually have to retract my statements about that because I haven't even seen that I got it mixed up with another movie whose title escapes me so sorry about that!
  12. ^Yes I agree and that is why I don't blame the actors more the layout. They could take the time to just put a light and a fog machine facing the path and walla you have an effective scare point!
  13. Ok on the first point, there is nothing original anymore but at least Paranormal activity got away from Torture, gore, and OMG this is scary because she is screaming from all the pain. I have seen all of those movies except Susperia which is high on the list of must sees for me and I enjoyed them all, but why can't people get enjoyment out of new versions of movies that use old techniques that work? If we keep living in a world of, "This wasn't as good as such and such" we will continue on the downward spiral of remakes of old horror classics getting botched by making them, "Scarier because theyre gorier" and the horror genre will fade into an oblivion of crap. On the second point, this is a movie that makes you seem hypocritical. That movie wasn't original either, it was psychologically "scary" because of fear of the unknown, Exorcist, and it was another torture porn movie. So no I don't recommend that as a better example of new horror that is as good as the classics. If that movie is to be considered scary, creepy, and horrifying then so is Saw because that series pokes at peoples moral values, and even as a huge Saw fan I would never say they were creepy, scary, or horrifying.
  14. No fog, eh? Hmmm.... That's why right there. They aren't going to waste their money pumping out a crapload of fog on a day that is really windy. They cut back significantly when there is a decent amount of wind. We went about 3 weeks ago on a Friday, and like stated above, the waits are TINY. The day was perfect, as there was almost no wind, the fog machines were pumping like crazy in every house and zone. It was one of the best Halloweekends I've been to at Cedar Point. Actually the fog machines are always running once the zones open at 8, to see fog one has to actively participate in Halloweekends and not walk around the family friendly parts or leave early. The fog however could potentially be blown into family zones if the wind is right. I have never had no fog to work in unless the fog machine broke. But you are right about Fridays, much better crowds wise!
  15. Must be all that Energon in them. I hope this doesn't cause too many fatalities. --Robb No worries they are tethered to the shelf with Intamin cable. I haven't gotten my copy of windows 7 yet, it is in the mail, but I will say this I had a good yell at Best Buy because when I bought my new computer from them it was all, "Free upgrade to Windows Seven," but then I can't just get a copy I had to go through the manufacturer because to get the "free" copy at BB I had to pay the $40 installation fee. Needless to say I got angry and yelled that $40 is not free and the poor geek squad girl had to be my victim, though I know it is not her fault.
  16. Paranormal Activity - 10/10 - I can't say enough about this movie so I will just say this, it is SO EFFING GOOD to finally see an effing horror movie that knows that gore is not scary, I don't mind gore but HELLO MCFLY a person bleeding from a chopped off limb is NOT scary!!! GREAT movie I would recommend it to anybody! Saw VI - 7/10 - Being a huge cult fan of the Saw films I was really a bit let down, the Traps felt rehashed and it didn't feel as gory as the other films, despite everyone saying it was the goriest. The storyline was good in continuing the running plotlines without screwing them up BUT the main trap, in the end, was so disconnected from the main plotline the movie was trying to follow that I was a little disappointed. On top of that is was the weakest and most predictable of all the twists the Saw series has had thus far. I will recommend it to saw fans as the plotline is interesting but if you haven't seen the other ones see them first or this movie will make very little sense to you.
  17. I'm going to get a little defensive here and will attempt to not sound angry, so don't take it that way. You say Halloweekends sucked and you only saw one actor and no fog, well I am sorry to tell you that you didn't pay very much attention when walking around then because it clearly states on the map where the scare zones are. I gather that you did not go through ANY houses or scare zones seeing as you left at 9 and they are open from 8-12! Cedar Point likes to allow families an enjoyable experience on Halloween as well so we Screamsters are kept in specific areas, the whole park is not a scare zone. I just have to be defensive here because I hate when people pass judgement on things that they made no good effort to try. You can't say a movie sucked unless you actually watched it!
  18. I've changed three times and have a ton of great stories from Fear Faire at Cedar Point but I'll share the best one which is me and this girl in my section who do a great tag team scare. I Say "Knock Knock who's there" and she jumps out of a box and screams "Chick in a box!" (SNL anyone?) Here is the three pics of my different make ups, the full mask is my new permanent character, The Inquisitor. First Weekend And this is the much more insulting, loud mouthed final version! Second Weekend, these first two were quiet stalkers.
  19. Im a green zombie in a blue tunic, in Fear Faire.
  20. So I went to Howl-O-Scream this past weekend and I wanted to give my happy review for TPR. Since I didn't take any pictures I will not start a new thread because I feel it would be pointless! I will talk about the zones first then houses in order from least liked to most liked! I should also note that I am NOT a jumpy person and rarely get scared, my entertatinment at halloween events comes from good atmosphere and getting to see other people screaming, this year it was the expense of my GF who is not an easy scare so when she did scream, it was because a good job was being done! SCARE ZONES I DO NOT really like any of the scare zones because, well they kind of suck. This is not in anyway the fault of the actors but really it is management. The zones are just not set up to allow the actors any ability to get good scares! With this being said here is how I felt about each one. Ranked based on atmosphere and how much they made my GF scream or be scared. Moors - 4 guys dressed as scotsman standing on a pathway attempting to scare people in a well lit area with no fog...I feel so bad for them! (1/10) Werewolves - There were three people on an open bridge with nowhere to hide, Im sorry getting scares by sneaking up behind someone is good but it gets old after a while! (3/10) Watchers - One nice surprise but again it is such a small area with three people only. (3/10) Strangers Beware - Some great scares on unsuspecting people on their way into and out of the houses behind Festhaus, but not enough of them. (5/10) Witches - Bedsheets on trees! But a decent area that at least is set up to help the actors surprise people with more then sneaking up behind them. (5/10) Harvest Hollow - Scarecrows are creepy but not when you walk from the exit of Hunted in the back all the way out of the zone and only see three or four actors, two of which didn't even try to scare anybody but rather just stood there. (5/10) Mischief and Mayhem - My favorite this year and in the same spot as my favorite last year..why? Because the area is set up to create spots where you CANT SEE THE ACTORS. Dear Busch Gardens, not knowing where scary things are coming from make them a lot scarier! (7/10) HAUNTED HOUSES Ok now here is where my great pleasure can really happen. I freaking LOVE the haunted mazes/houses at this park. It makes me feel like they put so much effort into making these 100 out of 10's that they forget to make good scare zones lol. Again the ranking is based on atmosphere and how much my GF screamed Pompeii (SP?) - Same house as last year, good story and some better scares this year then last but still my least favorite. (7/10) Cavern of Darkness - This house was REALLY good, until there is a large well lit dead spot near the end. It killed the mood a little bit but still some good scares in here. (7.5/10) Cursed - The scenery was similar to Wicked Woods last year but the atmosphere was brand new! There was too many actors doing the standing jerk with their props but it worked overall. There was also a long corridor that had no one in it but it didn't take too much away from the experience as a whole. (8/10) Hunted - This one scared me the most only because I was so afraid of werewolves as a kid. It was a great set up with lots of really good scares, my GF actually needed a break afterwards to settle her heart lol. So overall this maze was fantastic just a little short! (9/10) Catacombs - This was actually my favorite maze of the night but I don't give it my highest rating because Bitten was easily the best overall from a non-biased viewpoint. This maze had a lot of great scares and prompted the funniest thing that happened all weekend when my GF shouted balls after being scared. The actor started repeating balls over and over and it was freaking hilarious! This was also the maze that came the closest to making me jump, had the actor waited another 2-3 seconds he would have had me, but no spoilers here! (9.5/10) Bitten - If ever I was to say a maze was set up perfectly it would be this one. It was long, EXTREMELY creepy, had a GREAT story, the actors were fantastic, the scares were never the same twice. It was just amazing. If I had time only in my life to see one more thing I would probably go through this house again even though I mark Catacombs as my favorite lol. (10/10) So overall I had a great experience this past weekend. The event has, IMO, improved 10 fold from what it was last year. If they keep doing the same thing or better for the mazes and actually set up some good outdoor scare zones it will be even better next year! If you read this whole thing thanks and kudos to you!
  21. Ill be there too, except Ill be working so come through Fear Faire and Ill say "Hi"
  22. I never knew the definition of rubbing it in was emailing Dan until these updates came along lol
  23. You made me go out and get BWW, Blazin' wings and now you post Carrabas! I am going to have to stay away from these updates....
  24. HAHA that was great stuff, although the first picture looks as though getting murdered by a piece of Intamin was rather pleasurable for Elissa. I think if she did get murdered by an Intamin cable she would've died happy
