Mining Engineer About how many times a year do you visit a park (including your home park)? 15-20 About how many times a year do you travel to a park that is not your home park? 3-5 When you travel do you go primarily to amusement parks or do you also try and hit other sites? I will often go to area casinos or museums. What is the farthest you’ve traveled to go to an amusement park? As a day trip 600 miles round trip As a vacation the distance from NY to Orlando Does roller coaster time get in the way of family time? (Do you choose to miss your children’s or family’s sporting events, holidays, birthdays, etc…) No Do you have any other major hobbies? Volleyball, Video Games, Roller Blading Do you get feelings of sadness in the offseason? Do you even have an offseason? Do you travel during the offseason? I don't because of season is taken up by HOCKEY!! Do you consider yourself friends with someone you met who works at an amusement park? (Or reverse it, if you work or worked and an amusement park have you made friends with enthusiasts?) Yes, and Yes as I have done both Would it bother you to go to an amusement park by yourself? I actually go by myself all the time! Have you gone to an amusement park by yourself? If so have you ever ran into another enthusiast and tagged along with them? See above, and no to the second part Do you find it easy to make friends with other enthusiasts? Yes How do you get your coaster news? TPR!! How many different forum sites do you regularly post on? Just TPR If there was a poll that asked a large pool of enthusiasts what their favorite roller coaster is, what do you think would be the top 3 responses be for wood? And for steel? El Toro, Pheonix, Thunderhead MF, Maverick, SM: ROS Same scenario but for amusement parks, what would be the top 3? Knoebels, SFMM, CP Have you ever “stole a kid” to get a credit on a kiddie coaster? No, proud non-credit whore here! Do you cut other categories out of your budget to make trips to parks? (Entertainment, fast food, holidays, tobacco or alcohol, etc…) No Before you visit a new park do you research the park finding the best way to navigate the park, get the best deals, or what days to go? Yes Do you feel the roller coaster enthusiast community is a warm and accepting community, or a negative and discouraging community? They can be discouraging to GP by over analyzing coasters and foretting to just have fun, turning people away from rides that aren't as terrible as they make them out to be. Do you like to talk about your hobby with people who are not roller coaster enthusiasts? Yes, often to their great dismay! P.S. This is an awesome research paper and I hope you get an A
  2. High School - A.P. World History, too much memorization on Tests for me! College "Core classes" - Philosophy College "Core Engineering" - Tie between the weed out ENGE courses and Statics, OMG I was so bad at Statics, but I did rock Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Deformable Bodies! College "Mining Core Classes" - Rock Mechanics, this class is full of crazy hard math and formulas that don't really apply or have to be manipulated based on what you think is right. Unfortuntly it is the single most important Mining class we took because it has to do with keeping the roof standing in underground mines, among other things. Luckily I have the easier side being in a surface mine!
  3. C.C. pitched well yesterday, that is a good sign for the Yankees. I have been worried all year that we would see the classic C.C. "Oh I pitched bad because I tweaked my elbow and it has been hurting all season but finally caught up with me now."
  4. It is penalties and calls like this that make me continually spew the phrase "Football is so much less manly then Hockey," so much in my life. "Oh no I was touched, he touched me, penalty penalty!!" I understand roughing the passer but unless he gets HIT and I don't mean bumped or touched I mean HIT like a man, no flag.
  5. I would agree that variety is needed. This is a big yes for me but would be a guarenteed buy if you made it Asia RAW! I would suggest dropping some of the more "normal" mouse/family coasters and adding big China/Korea/wherever else you have footage from. That's my 2 cents. ^^^^^And that coaster list is way too specific I mean who wants to see a POV of Batman: The Ride when we've all been on it! Chris "Crap now i've spent 4 cents" Damm
  6. Yankees in 4 (Twins playing on ZERO rest!) Red Sox in 5 Yankees in 7 (Revenge will be SWEET) Phillies in 4 (Rockies will have one magical game) Dodgers in 5 (This could be one of the best series of the playoffs) Phillies in 5 Yankees in 6 (WOO)
  7. The factor of safety on a plane is like 0.1 because youre in a chair above shark infested waters and somewhere within a 0-1000 mile radius of an intamin cable system, which may have been installed by a drunk driver! So many dangers when flying!
  8. "Lock and load biotch" and "This is wood it comes from trees" This was one that was on my list of buys and this reminded me that I wanted to buy it. Thanks!
  9. I had never played these games in the past, or heard of them for that matter, but since I "Know" Robb I will def. pick this up because it sounds like it would be worthwhile. Glad you posted this here because it would certainly be a game I would have never given a chance.
  10. Ah I see we have Screamsters and Scream Team, maybe some of the Scream team are ride prides. I know that the scare zones are exclusively Screamsters (not sure about cornstalkers) and that there are a lot of scream teamers in mansions. I did recognize most of the Screamsters in the mansions and they were generally the good scares.
  11. Ride Prides? Sorry I don't know that term please enlighten me! And I am surprised Cornstalkers was your favorite but glad to hear it as well because most of the love goes to Fright Zone and Carnevil from what I hear.
  12. Having been to only two parks during Halloween events I will say that I like BGE's haunted mansions, and CP's Scare Zones. This makes me super excited for my trip Oct. 17th! So soon! Great pics thanks!
  13. I think this one liner will be highly under appreciated so i will take this space to point out this is the caption I laughed the hardest at. Also I hope your spelling is right because I always wondered how to spell "Segue" and now I can move on with life
  14. I went to CP Yesterday to hit up the Haunted Houses and since I didn't take pictures there is no reason to review the place else where. In the order that I liked them: Happy Jacks - Very creepy and good atmosphere, and Peeing babies...enough said. Undertaker U. - A lot of good scares and an awesome spinning room. Eerie Estate - A lot of good fun and some good surprises to boot. Club Blood - The Body Bag room is good but the rest just doesn't seem to fit the theme very well, except for the Dancer. Overall I wasn't overly impressed, but it was probably because it was a Sunday and the Crowds were light. Scares seemed to be very generic, minus a few, and mostly shaker cans. I don't blame the scare actors as it is just the nature of the setup that makes the houses this way. I will come back and give a review of the scare zones when I go Columbus day weekend since that is the only weekend I am not working in the zones.
  15. If you get a chance make sure you check out the outdoor ones too! Visit us in Fear Faire's Torture Chamber....I'll be waiting...
  16. And this is the point where the obviously uniformed closes his mouth
  17. I'm a little miffed that they took out Masquerage but I guess it is better to get new then to keep old right? Anyway thanks for the pics I'm going the weekend of the 17th so this helped shed some light on where they are doing their mazes this year, as well as exciting me greatly!
  18. CP had an awesome opening weekend! Working as a Screamster is the best thing I have ever done it is so much fun!
  19. So ill dig up an old thread here to post a weird/funny dream I had last night. I was in a mall on a tpr trip and knocked into elissa by accdent. I then found out we could hear each others thoughts and every word we spoke no matter where we were. We were just starting to solve the mystery with Robb and Katies, my gf, help when my alarm woke me up.
  20. No except for NINETY DEGREEEESSS!! on Ravine Flyer II Do you laugh at unique or extra gory scenes when at the movies?
  21. I am going to put in another vote for Kings Island. I had a terrible time both trips to this park. It was crowded both times, which isn't the parks fault, but what bothered me was the fact that all of the lines stuck into the midways causing large amounts of mobbing and confusion. This was not due to the crowds being extra large either, a wait for DB was still only 1-1.5 hours but the line curled out and about. Make more Queuing area! Second thing was the Coasters were not what I hoped. The only one that passed expectation was Flight Deck. I liked FoF better at KD, I liked Goliath at SFoG more then DB, I liked the Crypt MUCH more at KD etc. The Beast was good but didn't surpass expectation and so on. I can't compare Firehawk or Vortex (That was the custom looper right?) because I didn't ride either because I didn't feel like waiting. So there is my two cents! Chris "is now waiting for the questions/complaints/retorts from PKIman" Damm P.S. I am not a believer that CP is overrated because in the Enthusiast community it is never hyped crazily and the GP had different desires for parks then we do and I have never heard a GP say CP wasn't an amazing experience.
  22. Fireball looks hot.....I know I know. Great update as always looking forward to more!
  23. Woo looking forward to the new FB updates feature of TPR trips, enjoy your time in China! One question though, were those pictures of the city that looked darker because they were taken through car windows or is the air actually that dirty? Chris
