Day 4(the 7th) - Indiana Beach – Monticello Indiana Indiana Beach had been a park I wanted to go to for sometime… But never wanted to really go out of my way for... So it was cool that I would get the chance to go on the MWCT. Once we got to the park you can see how built up it really is… Once I had my ride pass I went up to Hoosier Hurricane first. It was the first thing I saw once in the park… So I went to it. Hoosier Hurricane Type – Wood Year - 1994 Kind – Out –n-Back Hoosier Hurricane looks nice how it runs along the side of the park and over the lake. (River?...well I'm going to call it a lake) After climbing my way to the station I take my seat in the front row and Jay sat next to me… The ride is nice and fun but doesn't have too much air. But its still a fun ride the first drop on the ride is nice. And so is the drop that goes under the bridge to the park. The turn around is cool because if you look down its over one of the mini golf's the park has. The return trip to the station has a bit more air but not that much. Over all it's a fun ride but could use some air. After getting off that I walked over to the Galaxi coaster... that's buried under some waterslides… They wouldn't let me wait for the front on this one... So I just took the seat that was empty. I think this was Dekas first Galaxi ever… Galaxi Type - Steel Year – 1971 Kind - Family Eh… It's just like any other Galaxi coaster. It runs the 2 car train system so if you're in the back car you get a few bits of pop air time. Yeah… but if your have been on one you have been on them all… I guess this one is cool because it has waterslides going all around it…. After that I walked down to the parks Sky Coaster… I have been on many before... and this wasn't even the biggest one of the trip... But it was the only one that's over a lake… And that was the reason I did it. The ride hangs off the side of the boardwalk the park is on and has its own little pier it sits on... So when you drop down and fly up your over the lake. The view form 100 feet over the water was really cool. I wanted to go on it some more... But didn't have the money. After my fun ride on the Sky Coaster I got in line for CCIs "Bastard Child" wood coaster…. Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain…. Man that ride rocked... I couldn't get enough of it… I ended my day with over 15 laps on it…. Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain! Type – Wood Year - 2002 Kind – "Other" The ride is so messed up…. Somehow CCI was able to turn an old dark ride into a coaster... The ride starts with an elevator lift hill that takes the 2 car train to the top. Once the cars release the fun starts… The ride is full of very tight turns and odd banking and then steep drops that just toss your body around inside the cage (car). You can't really describe the ride... It's something you just have to ride to "get" but man is it fun…. Some of the turns this thing does with a 2 car train you wouldn't find a 1 car mouse doing… It's just so twisted After Lost Coaster I went on the parks famous water swings. A Chance Yo-Yo that's out over the lake. It's a fun ride and tilts unlike most of the Yo-Yos I have been on. Then I went on the parks wheel to get some photos. The view from the wheel was nice I guess. After getting off the wheel I took the sky ride back to the start of the park getting some more photos. I walked over to Cornball next… This was one of the coasters on the trip I wanted to ride the most…. Cornball Express Type - Wood Year - 2001 Kind - I don't know what to call it…. Cornball was just wedged into the park... So you have to climb 4 sets of stairs to get to the station… It's not bad the first time... But with the parks no re-ride system... It gets annoying to walk around… The first drop on the ride in the backseat has some great air time. The ride it self is a very good ride and now I see why it's so highly ranked. This coaster SHOULD be ranked higher then Raven…. The drop that goes along side the Tig'rr in the backseat with a slacked seatbelt had some of the best air time on the MWCT trip… (Only one coaster beat it ) The ride also has something odd… For some reason you get air time in its helix… That's cool… The ride was also built on top of and over most of the parks kiddie rides Well after 4 or 5 rides in a row on Cornball I had one more coaster in the park to ride. Tig'rr. Tig'rr Coaster Type – Steel Year - 1984 Kind – Jet Star This was the first jet star I have been on where they would let you fill a car with 4 riders and this one didn't have any seatbelts. The ride is fun and I like it better then The Great Escapes indoor one. The drops on the ride are fun and so are the low turns. I love the drop that turns to the left in the drop then hits a high banked right turn…. After 4 rides on this I went back to cornball for more rides… Yeah so after that I just spent the rest of my day going around and riding flats and re riding some of the coasters. The park had a nice set of flying scooters. The best of the trip. They also are on a platform over the lake so once you start flying them you go out over the water. At the start of the day the guy running the ride didn't mind if you snapped… even if they had a "no snapping" sign…. But later in the day some girl kicked me off for snapping L… Even after going to Knoebels I can't pick what flyers I liked better. The park also had the best of the S&S towers on the trip. The double shot that the park just placed on the beach it looks funny because the park put its frog hopper right next to it… They also had a Chaos but it was closed all day so I didn't get to ride it. The parks paratroopers ran nice and fast and gave the cars a lot of rocking. This ride is also over the lake but the effect isn't as good as on the flyers or swings Before the day ended I went back and rode most of the flats and took a few more rides on the sky ride… And just kept lapping Cornball and Lost Coaster. Yeah… So now that IN Beach say was over... it was time to head off to Michigan's Adventure… If only we had stayed at IN Beach for 2 days and not gone to MIAdv… Or better yet… We should have skipped PKI and stayed at IN Beach for 3….. The super cool WaterSwings The super cool Sky Coaster Whos Your Hurricane Cornballs first drop... YAY LOSTCOASTER!

PKI June 6th..... with photos

Day 3 (the 6th) - Paramount's Kings Island - Kings Mills Ohio I had been to the park a few years back so I wasn't in a rush to ride anything… I just wanted to get my ride on IJST… We got to the park a little before opening so we got to do the ace walk back to Beast. I got to ride the front seat on the first ride of the day. I had been on the ride before… But that was before they added the new magnet brakes. Wow… And I thought the ride sucked before…. Beast Type – Wood Year – 1979 Kind – Terrain So the ride starts and goes up the lift hill... The view from the top of the lift is still amazing... too bad the rest of the ride isn't. Going down the first drop you really can feel the magnet trims pull the train and it really kills the ride… After going in the first tunnel you go down the next drop… more magnet trims… after a turn… you go to the "famous" 300 foot long (whatever) shack of trims…. Yeah…. And yet this ride is still ranked high… So after a few more turns and the other tunnel you head up the second lift hill… into the big long shallow drop… with trims that you feel slow the train… Into the helix of hell… I don't see why people love this ride so much…. In the helix my head hurt so much I wanted to just jump off the damn ride…. But it was over…. Thank god… After getting back into the station... I took one more ride on Beast so I wouldn't have to come back later that day…This time I took a seat in the back and it sucked just as much as in the front… It not more Yeah so after going on the crappy beast I walked over to Italian Job: Stunt Track and got my ride pass. It says 12.30pm. So I walked over to Vortex… It wasn't open for the day yet. So I kept going….I got to Flight of Fear and jumped on Flight of Fear Type – Steel Year – 1996 Kind – Indoor The last time I was at Kings Island FOF still had the OTSRs on it. But I had been on PKDs with the lap bars. I took my seat and the ride started. I liked it better when it was DARK inside the ride. Now they have a lot of colored lights… Reds…Greens…and Blues? It's still a fun ride but I like it better when you can't see inside. When the ride got to the MCBR they did slow it but not as bad as PKD was doing in 2002 where they would STOP the train in it. I wish I had time to go back on it but later in the day it had a very long line. After that I went down to Racer… I went on Racer backwards because I like the backwards side better… I went on both sides before the day was over... And both times the ride did not race…. Racer Backwards Type - Wood Year – 1972 Kind – Racer The "front" seat for the ride was a walk on so I jumped in as it's the best seat on the ride. I use to think that PKDs racing coaster was the best of the "Paramount 3" but Racer at PKI has a different layout then TR and RY have…. Before the turn around the two tracks split apart and make a little turn going down the bigger hill before the main turn around. So on the backwards side it adds a bit to the ride. After that for some reason I didn't go on the forward side... We just walked away. We went over to Adventure Express… One of the best mine rides around… Adventure Express Type – Steel Year – 1991 Kind – Mine Train We were in line for the back car it had no wait... But we couldn't get right on as someone barffed on the ride... So they closed off the train washed it down and sent it around a few times... Then we got on. The ride itself is very fun and fast paced. But then the end… I think just about anyone who's been on it makes fun of the rides ending… How you go up the big lift hill in the dark that's themed... and then the ride just ends... And you get off… Deka had never been on it before... And she didn't know so I made fun of her when she thought something fun was going to happen... And it didn't… After we left that… I went up to the sling shot ride. The sign in front said it was $20.00 a ride… The sign on the ticket booth said it was $15.00 a ride… When I went to get my ticket... It was only $10.00…….. I had been on sling shots before but Deka hadn't and this was the tallest of the sling shots on the trip… So we did it. This was also the first time I ever had to wait in line for one... Most of the time you just walk up and get on... But we had to wait 5 or 6 loads… After that we walked down to the Action Zone part of the park where a lot of the newer things are. Son of Beast was closed with a train stopped on the lift hill. We walked down and got in line for Top Gun. I liked this ride a lot the last time I went to PKI... To bad it's the best coaster in the park…. Top gun Type – Steel Year – 1993 Kind – Suspended The line was just in the station so I waited for the front row as it's the best seat on the ride. I really like top gun as far as suspended coasters go. It's very fast paced and has a lot of swinging unlike some other suspended coasters… The ride is short but its very fun… And as I said... It's the best coaster they have at the park… After getting off top gun it was almost time to ride Italian Job…. We got down to it... And it hadn't even opened for the day yet… So we hung around a bit... And were told even if our time runs out "1.30pm" we would still get to ride because it was down. So we walked off and went to Vortex witch was now open. Vortex Type – Steel Year - 1987 Kind – Mega Looper Vortex was running all 3 trains so the line was just in the station. It was a 5 train wait for the front but because it was using all the trains it moved fast. So we just waited it out. The ride is fun but it's an old arrow coaster… So stick with the front of the train for a fun ride. The first drop on the ride is still great…Going into the first turn you get slammed but not to bad… after a few more drops and turns you go into the 2 back to back vertical loops.. The loops are very forceful and I hadn't had any food yet in the day so I grayed out in both of them… Fun stuff… After going into the way to tight turn... and then almost stopping in the MCBR you head into the corkscrews… I like the corkscrews on Vortex because their high off the ground… After both of them you make a tight turning drop into the boomerang loop you get banged in them but not to bad… After that you go into a fast helix and the ride is over…. After getting off Vortex we walked back over to Italian Job…It still hadn't opened for the day… So we went over to the tower and went up it. From on top of the tower I could see that Son of Beast was now open and had people on it. Later on I could see Italian Job was now running but I couldn't see if people were on it or if it was just testing... We got off the tower and walked around to Italian Job….. It was open… We got in line… Out ride time was "12.30"… We got on…. After 3:00pm… Italian Job Stunt Track Type – Steel Year – 2005 Kind – Family Launch This was the only coaster in the park that was new for me so I was happy I would get to ride. They don't let you pick or wait for a seat on the ride... They just tell you where to go… But by luck we got the front seat. The first launch on the ride is very weak. The big helix is the funnest part on the ride... And it's not that fun… Once you get to the top of the helix you drop down into the fast side to side turn part its ok I guess then you do the over banked turn and a few hills and turns.. Then the ride stops and fire blows up and stuff and you re-launch into the tunnel not much happens in the dark just a few turns… I think it has a third launch part inside but you don't feel it… Then you pop out of the billboard and do the water "splash down" take a turn and it's over… I didn't think the ride was going to be that good… And it is for family's... But man... did it suck. The ride just doesn't do much. The launches are weak and it's just not that fun. And when it's over 90*s out… The last thing you want is a fireball in your face…. After getting off that we went down to Tomb Raider the ride…. We were the very next people to get into the pre show when the ride crapped out and went down... All the lights in the line then turned on. I hadn't been on the ride before so I just waited out... After about 20 mins it re opened…. TRTR is the first (only?) giant top spin… I was told how this ride "wasn't like any other top spin" and "way better"… Well... once you get over the fact that it holds more people in has 3 rows… It feels just like any other one... But with a crappy program. It's a fun ride and all but doesn't flip much. So by then we had done most of the stuff but the rides in Action Zone... So we walked over to it… On the way we jumped on Racer Forward… Racer Forward Type – Wood Year 1972 Kind – Racer The forward side is a lot rougher then the backwards side is… And with the suck-in belts you don't get much air time. Like I said before the ride wasn't racing when I went on it... So it took some of the fun away... Yeah so after that we walked to Action Zone… Got inline for Sob of Beast…. It had no line and for good reason… We took the front seat because it was only a 3 train wait... and we were both eating our slush's still…. My god… Son of Beast…….. Son of Beast Type – Wood Year – 2000 Kind – "POS" / Hyper looper woodie The trains on this ride just suck and so do the lap bars… I had to sit leg crossed just to fit inside the ride… The ride starts…. And you drop out of the station and turn up into the lift hill…. They take the on ride photo then… (So you look happy I guess…..Any where else on the ride and you would look retarded) Getting to the top of the lift you do a turn dip and then head up into the first drop… This is where you want to get off…….SOB is one of the worst coasters ever made….ever…. You go down the first drop…218 feet down…On a wood coaster…. The cars jack hammer so hard my head hurt before even getting into the "rose bowl" inclined helix part…. Once you get into that the car hammer even harder….then you get to the long mostly flat part before the loop... even this part jack hammers the car to the point I just wanted to die and get it over with… Then you drop down and go into the loop… The loop is the best part of the ride as it's the smoothest part… After then you go into the next helix and just want the ride to be over... but it's not down yet… you still have a few more hills and turns….. But then… FINALY! Its over! I'm done with that coater for life….. Sadly on the exit ramp some kid in back of me screamed "That was the coolest ride ever!!!!!" Well my head hurt and so did Dekas... I jumped in line for drop zone… It was just one load wait… I loved drop zone last time I was at the park but it had a very long line so I only got one ride. Now it was a walk on… we load up and the ride starts… You only get one spin going up now... You use to get 2 or 3… Now you're done spinning before you even get off the brakes… Going up on this ride is great... The view is amazing it's just so tall…. You get to the top and just wait to drop… with legs and arms out... the car drops… yay! Drop zone is by far the best ride in the park. After that we went on Face/Off. I had been on it before but Deka hadn't... She took a random seat (then went off on her own to get the kiddie coasters... As she hadn't been on them and I had…) I waited for the back "front" car. Face/Off Type – Steel Year – 1999 Kind – Inverted Boomerang I had been on both Face/Off and Two face…So I knew these were a lot funner then the stander boomerangs… I was a solo rider so one of the ride ops jumped in the seat next to me… And we were off. Going up the lift forward and then dropping backwards is fun… The ride is very smooth and fun. Going up the second lift is fun as you hang in the OTSRs then drop and get a bit of floaty air time… After a very fun ride on Face/Off I went back on Drop Zone once more because it had no line and it's a very fun ride…. I walked down to the NickToon land after that to see if I could find Deka. I walked up to beastie it was a walk on and I jumped in the front seat… Beastie Type – wood Year – 1972 Kind – Family Woodie I had been on PKDs PCs and PKIs before... at PKD it always has a line so I just jump in the first seat I find… At Carowinds they wouldn't let you wait for a seat… So PKIs not having a line I just took the front... woo… Even for a kiddie ride it's still a fun little coaster and has some air time…. I would take a lap on this over Beast or Son of Beast any day…. Beastie is by far the best woodie in the park... And that's not saying much. After that I looked around a bit more for Deka and couldn't find her… Time was almost up for PKI day... So I jumped in line for Reptar… Rugrats Runaway Reptar Type – Steel Year - 2001 Kind – Family Inverted I really liked the idea Vekoma had with this ride... Taking the roller skater layout and just inverting it… The ride itself is ok. It has a bit of head bang but for a family / kiddie ride its great. I also like the "older" OTSR style it has… The newer ones are bigger... So you bang your head more. So after that my day at PKI was over… I found Deka later at one of the gift shops on the way out. I took my last 4 or 5 photos at the park … and we were off to Indiana…. Vortexs loop Sling Shot.. Topguns first drop IJSuckTrack POS...I mean SOBs first drop -
Day 2 (the 5th) - Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - Louisville Kentucky. And Holiday World - Santa Claus Indiana So after getting up at what... 3am? The trip starts its 600 mile drive to SFKK.... yay. On the way to SFKK from TN we passed Beech Bend… I could see the wheel that's about it… Yeah so after a few more hours and watching the sun come up… We got to SFKK. After getting to the park before it opened. We got to walk back to ride ""Chang"". Well as we were going back we found out Chang wasn't open yet. So we got some T2 ERT! WOO!! I took 3 laps on t2. 2 In the front seat and one in the back. The ride isn't THAT BAD... but its still bad. I had been on it 6 years before so I don't know why I went on it 3 times in a row... But I did... T2 Type - Steel Year - 1995 (One of the first SLCs in the US) Kind - SLC The ride looks nice how it's over grown with trees and bushes the ride is just like most other SLCs but the end hills are different as they don't tilt side to side. It also has a shorter train and more trains then the newer ones. It has 3 trains but only 2 are ever uses 2. The ride is also odd looking... You can see red all over from where the black paint chipped... and in the station its still bright red… After that I went over to Chang by now a few park guests had got back to this part of the park. I waited 2 or 3 loads so I could get the front seat on it. I had been on it before but never in the front. So it was worth the wait for me. Chang Type - Steel Year - 1997 Kind - Stand Up Chang starts off like Mantis but then ends different it has 2 corkscrews and a non twisted end. When it was new it was the tallest fastest and most looping stand up coaster. The ride is still great and has some air time and a trim less first drop!...Unlike Mantis. The ride bangs you a bit but nothing to bad and overall is great. But me being a stand up fan it's not hard to be great. After my 1 Chang ride I walked over to the wheel. I took a ride on it just to get some photos of the park and the rides and stuff… By this point I had done POV videos on T2 and Chang. But when I got to the wheel I was told I couldn't take my cam on the ride… So after being let to POV on T2 and Chang.. I wasn't sable to take it on the wheel…But I did anyways because im a rule breaker… After I got off the wheel I made my way to Thunder Run. This is by far the best of the 3 "hurler" clones it was first and it's still better then the PC or PKD clones of it. Some people don't like it as much as the Hurlers… But I do… Thunder Run Type - Wood Year - 1990 Kind - I guess it's an Out-n-Back.... The ride is fun and a lot better paced and smoother then both hurlers it has more air time to. Over all I really like this coaster and always have. And I'm amazed that Six Flags has kept it up and running so well...Unlike some other wood coasters they own... The ride was only running one train and still had no line at all I was able to ride it 2 times in a row both in the front seat. After my 2 front seat rides on Thunder Run I walked over to twins... It was only running one side... the teal one. The ride uses older style G-Trains and they are not as bad as the newer ones. They still suck but not as bad. The last time I was at the park both sides were running but they didn't go at the same time. So I still haven't seen the ride run the way it should… Twisted Twins Type - Wood Year - 1998 Kind - Dueling The ride is ok and has some nice air time and a good helix at the end. It would have been funner if both sides were open and dueling... But that didn't happen... Also if the ride had better trains…. Going down the first drop on the ride you see a sign for Holiday Worlds new wave pool. I went on the ride 2 times. The first time I took the front seat and then I took the back the park was dead so they let you re ride and even change seats without going all the way around. So that was good. After I got off twins I walked around a bit and got some photos and stuff. And was almost done with the back side of the park But Deka still had one more coaster to do in the back. The Roller Skater. I had been on it before but it was a walk on. So I just went on… Roller Skater Type - Steel Year -1994 Kind - Kiddie The ride is ok. It's just a little Vekoma thing but its ok. The ride is places in a nice part of the park over a little river with some trees and bushes around it. I took a front seat ride on it and had a fun ride. After that I was done with the backside of the park so I walked over the infamous bridge that splits the park up... And went to get the only 2 coasters in the park I hadn't been on yet. Greezed Lightnin' was the first one I went to. I had never been on a Schwarzkopf shuttle before so it was a first for me. I took the front seat my first ride and then the next 3 in the back and my last in the front once more. This ride even with its 1 train had no line and I was able to re ride over and over without getting off. Greezed Lightnin' Type - Steel Year - '2003' Kind - Shuttle Loop The launch on the ride is slower then new launch coasters but it's still a very fun ride. I had been on looping stars before so I knew the loop was forceful… Going up the first spike is cool and you float all the way back down. Going in the loop backwards is cool but then something bad happened... I had seen videos of this kind of ride before so I knew how high up the back spike it could go... But SFKK trimmed it to death where trains back cars didn't even seem to make it 50% of the way up... Sitting in the front you don't even make it to the steepest part on the spike. When riding one of my back seat rides I looked backwards the full ride. That made the back spike funner I guess... So now I only needed to ride the mouse. By this time of the day it was like 95-100* out and the line for the mouse is all outside in the sun... So after I got a real bad sun burn I got my ride on Road Runner Express. Road Runner Express Type - Steel Year - 2000 Kind - Mad Mouse The rides station area looks nice SF tried to theme it. The overall ride is fun but in the end it's a mouse... If you have been on one...For the most part you have been on them all. The ride wasn't using all the cars so the line was longer then it had to be... It ended up being the longest line in the park fro me. So after that I took one ride on the parks Intamin drop tower..... Hellavator I wish SFNE still used this name and not Scream. It's much cooler... The tower wasn't using all its sides so the line was longer then it should have been. You get a nice view of the park from the ride I guess. After I got off I was done with SFKK... After hanging around for the other people to show up we got in the vans and were off to Holiday World. For the first time in my life I went to 2 parks in 2 different states in 2 different time zones in the same day… I had never been to the park before and have always seen such great things about the park and its rides. So I really wanted to go to it….To bad for the most part everything I heard was wrong...... Once I got in the park the first thing I ran to was...Raven.... Raven Type - Wood Year - 1995 Kind - Terrain My first ride on it I took the front seat. Later I took the front seat once more... Then 2 back seat rides and one in the middle. After my first ride on it....The only thing I could think of was..... WHY IS THIS RIDE RATED SO HIGH!........... I hated it... yes... hated..... I didn't feel much air on the ride in any spots... And that "5th hill" with its 'killer' air time or whatever even with a slacked seatbelt still didn't give me much... Later I was told I was on the "new" train so that might be why it wasn't a good ride for me. But still... I think the ride sucked... and it made my head hurt… After that big let down I made my way over to the Legend this ride always looked better in photos and videos to me then Raven. And it was. Legend is a much much much better ride then Raven it's a lot longer has a better layout and way more air time. Legend Type - Wood Year - 2000 Kind - Umm I guess it's an Out-n-Back Twister Terrain coaster.... Legend is a great ride from start to finish the first drop is cool and goes into a tunnel you get air time over all the hills and one of the hills has some of the longest floater air I have ever felt. I also liked the helix the ride has. I wish I had more time to go on it but it had a long line all day. So I only got my 2 front seat rides. I wish I would have had time for one back seat ride. But because it was only running one train… As with raven... It had a long line. After that I walk around and went on a few of the flat rides and water rides. The log ride was nice and had some good views of Legend. The S&S tower the park has felt very weak. The river raft was nice and felt long. The flyers they had were just ok... After getting on some other stuff I made my way up to the Howler coaster Howler Type - Steel Year - 1999 Kind - kiddie Howler is the parks only steel coaster. I think the trains on the ride are cooler then the ride itself. It gave 2 laps so that was cool I guess. The park put it in an odd place in the park. You have to walk in and around this big playground thing in the park to get to it… I think I had more fun playing in the playground then I did on the coaster… The ride itself is just like many clones of the "jeepers" coasters or "Road Runners" at some SF parks. Yeah so in the end... SFKK was the better of the parks for the day. Chang was the best steel and Legend the best wood. SFKK is much better now then what it was before… And it really isn't THAT BAD of a place. People just hate it because of the bridge… But it really is one of the BETTER SF parks! Holiday World sucked a lot to me. I felt the park was very over rated and it's also really small with not a lot to do. Raven is also way over rated for what it is... And I would not go back to this park unless they added something really amazing... (*NOTE* I wrote this up weeks before Voyage had its press release) Changs dive loop Backseat on Twins Backseat in the loop on GL Legends first drop... Ravens first drop...
