  1. Dear followers, we had a rough patch in our lives since our last post. At first, we bought a house which was pretty cool, but cost us a lot of time that was missing for going to parks and also a lot of money to do the same. We only had one really cool trip to Tripsdrill in June 2022 where we were able to meet a lot of you folks during your TPR tour. We weren't able to post a report yet, but I will post some photos in the next post. Secondly we've lost my father early in 2023. Due to these circumstances, going to parks wasn't our top priority in the last year. As a result, we also weren't in the mood to be participating a lot over here on the forums. I'm sorry for that. Espacially for not keeping in touch with the awesome girls and guys we learned to know last June. But it was very sad feeling for us to talk about the things we do not have a serious possibility to participate in. But right now today, that changed. After reading the news over the parks annoucing their 2024 hotnesses, our interest in theme parks came back! Today, we made the decision that the grieving period is over and we need to focus on our mental health - and a very important point for us is travelling. So we just booked a ten day trip to Gothenburg where we will sleep in Lisebergs all new Grand Curiosa Hotel! And this time, a trip report is coming for sure!

  2. Having experienced all of the touristy things in Copenhagen that were on our list, and with only the TPR welcome dinner on the agenda for this day, we decided to wander around some different areas of the city and also do something beneath us. 05: Down This Toilet We've been to a lot of Ripley's Believe It or Not Museums. Not because they're good, mind you. Call it a guilty pleasure. This was to be our first international one, though. And it also had an attached Hans Christian Andersen "Experience." These places usually mix about half "standard" stuff that can be found at any of their locations and half "original" exhibits that are unique to that location. Or at least I've heard them claim that. This room featured an extremely squeaky floor. On purpose...? I do like this gate that you have to figure out how to open (if you're too stupid to just go around). Spinning tunnel! In 1919, 29-year-old Robert Ripley married actress Beatrice Roberts, who was 14 at the time. Believe it or not! Smisty looking at nothing. (What an attraction!) Whilst Bert and Chuck are deep into actual amusement park updates in their trip reports, I'm still wasting your time with this nonsense. Robert Ripley died in 1949, live on his own television show. Believe it or not! This guy is kind of a big deal 'round these parts. This scene represents Copenhagen, where Hans Christian Andersen lived. And is also the place this is located in. This scene represents some dumb-ass fairy tale in which a young girl suffers while a prince lives a wonderful life. Probably. Most of them are basically that. Smørrebrød are a staple of Danish cuisine. It's usually described as a fancy open-faced sandwich, but that's kind of selling it short. In Summer, the Danes sunbath along the canals. Which is way better than what the Dutch do along their canals. But we didn't come here to look at scantily-clad Scandinavians, we came here for ice cream! This weird bridge is for bicycles. Copenhagen Mall Oh. Oh, no. Copenhagen, please, you can do better than America's most disgusting food-court chain. A Danish board game store. Not in the mall, even though this trip report may make it seem that way. My name is everywhere in this city. Time to meet up with some friends. And nobody got Covid this time! The TPR welcome dinner was at Tivoli Garden's Wagamama, because Elissa. Quite a few members of the group had only recently arrived and choose to explore Tivoli Gardens after dinner, but having already done that, we headed back out into the city. While we're not quite done with Copenhagen, now seems like a good time to mention that I really enjoyed the city and everything it had to offer. I mean, it's no Stockholm, but it's still pretty great. Maybe the real Copenhagen was the friends we made along the way. And maybe, just maybe, we'll actually visit an amusement park in the next update. Whenever that ends up being.

  3. I got back to Playland yesterday, three days before our annual fair, The PNE, starts up. I decided to immediately head over to Coaster and get one - more - ride for "the season." It was a 40 minute wait in line (starting at 12:10), but there was lots of chatter around me to enjoy. And .... by the time I got into my coaster seat (12:50), the queue had tripled in length, and that was before the Real Crowds showed up after 1 pm. This was the last Wednesday for that 2-for-1 entry deal, so I expected Coaster's queue to be totally slammed, by the time I left the park. And .... it was, lol. Here's the photos I took yesterday... A reminder of how old Coaster is. The crew started training with two coaster trains running. But the second train had "special guests" on it. And then there were the bunch of flamingos there. Have no idea why. New banners up, but the photos still show the former trains, with no seat belts on the riders. Did You Know?.... And a special shout out to Mr Leroy, who built Coaster back in 1958. I'm in the loading station, and this is the queue now. I started out in line, under the blue shade canopy, at the left there. The ride was still great, so I'm over ranting about their installing the seat belts. And in the entire season, I got two rides on Coaster. Even water dummies have their On-Ride Photos, too! Noted. Scooby ........ Do? It was a long wait for this ride too, of all things. But it was very crowded that day. And the crew was loading all 16 gondolas, which usually only happens during The Fair. My gondola is almost here! I never get tired of seeing our mountains from the West Coast Wheel, with such clear skies. The Coaster Shot. SkyBender was very busy, too. Very, very busy yesterday. Getting very busy on the new coaster. Hmmm. Is all that pink stuff for the new coaster? Stay tuned .... My lonely little Stella Artois. No Playland food, eaten today. It looks like the Haunted Mansion walk-thru has "added on" to it's property. Looks interesting. Hmmm. Wonder what this will be for? Guess we'll find out, when we visit The Fair on the 31st. Artsy fartsy shot. It's just after 2pm, and this is the 2-for-1 Deal queue. Yep. We'll be there on August 31st. What I brought home. Boo.

  6. Let's have a look at the obstacle course, shall we? More Vekoma goodness is on the way, too. I was content to watch the younger set risk serious injury on the obstacle course. After all, someone must be healthy enough to provide assistance when necessary. Besides, you know my motto. Dignity. Always dignity. (Photo by Elissa.) “Whaddaya mean there are leeches in that water?” TPR’s intrepid campers soldier on. I did traverse this rope successfully. Uh, that’s OK. I’ll wait for the next one. Lynet, the park’s launched Eurofighter, is rougher than it was in 2009. But it still has some good moments. I think any park worth its salt needs a nice train ride. This one had enough stops to be useful as transportation, too. Farup has a mini-golf island. I didn't play a round, but maybe I'll get back there someday. This is Orkanen (Danish for “hurricane”). Shades of Cosmoworld and Kings Dominion! Orkanen has an “underwater” drop. Now this is a Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster, unlike the ride at Djurs. There’s so much to unpack in this photo of Fønix. The boy in the second row is howling like a banshee. The two boys behind him are probably thinking, “What’s his deal, anyway?” The two girls in front and the man in the back are thinking, “Great--we’re going to have to put up with this for the entire ride, aren’t we?” I think the boy in the third row may have broken his neck. And now a brief spot of nature. You’re welcome. So much for nature. Time for ERT! Fønix has caused Andy and Daniel to sprout multiple arms! They are now gods! This is the part where everybody yells “wh-o-o-o-o-o-o-a!” There is nothing to hate, or even mildly dislike, about this ride. Vekoma has triumphed again. “I am the Zen Rider! Fønix and I are as one!” “Sell all my earthly possessions. I’m not coming back.” Despite my expression, I love this coaster. (Photo from Robb’s rider cam.) Aw, time to go. Can we take the Club Car back to the bus?

  7. So anyone looking to buy 2024 passes and/or any add-ons, buy it all at Canadas Wonderland if you have a credit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees. Not only do you get the lowest price for gold+all park passport after exchange rate, but all add-ons for 2024, including ALL SEASON FASTLANE, work for the rest of 2023 as well. At Cedar Point and a few of the other parks they don't offer this, BUT, it still works at all parks for this year if you buy from Wonderland. I bought a drink plan for 2024 on one of the passes that I didn't have it in 2023 from Wonderland, and it worked at Cedar Point yesterday with no issues whatsoever. I confirmed with someone else I was talking with on Reddit that they used their 2024 all season fast lane from Wonderland at Dorney yesterday. They did not have a 2023 pass at all. As a reminder you don't need to add on a parking pass at Wonderland because the passport automatically adds on parking for ALL parks, including Wonderland. Let me know if you have any questions I'm pretty well versed in all the season pass stuff and options from the different parks. And I've bought Wonderland passes 9 out of the 10 past few years. I guess your milage may vary and this could potentially change, but everything is looking up. No wonder Wonderland gets so many new rides everyone purchases their season passes through them And unlike six flags you don't have to "process" the passes at your home park. DO KEEP IN MIND the bring a friend ticket, one time use fast lanes, and pass perks, will only work at your home park... from what I've gathered. So that is the only downfall but with all the money you are saving just but a bring a friend ticket for someone lol.

  9. You and me both. Besides, even if the ride is stellar, I still have zero confidence in their ability to make a seat/restraint that even approaches "comfortable."
