  1. ^ not if they were lovingly, and accurately, "restoring" it. Otherwise they would have just purchased plastic horses and put the damn thing back. i'm surprised they didn't' drop a cheapie carousel into one of the many open spaces in the park just to HAVE ONE while they did the extended restoration. but yeah, a true restoration can take years. I'm a Carousel fan (my favorite flat), if you don't recall. I don't care how long it takes, as long as they do it correctly. but yeah, they should have temporarily brought in a carnival version to give the smaller kids something to ride for a few seasons.

  2. if you're bothering to do it? do it correctly, and perfectly. y'all are just looking for something to bitch about. If you wanna complain that they didn't get a cheapie carousel in to fill a space in the park while they worked on the restoration? I'd agree. but this constant whining that it's taking too long? yeah. .it's gonna take as long as it takes.

  4. So the restoration will done so well it will become a museum piece? Once it reopens it will get dinged up in the first week. A flawless restoration is not needed here.

  5. Yeah but they are not treating it just as a ride but rather an historic work of art and craftmanship. Which carousel nerds like Bert and history nerds like me really appreciate!

  7. Which they are, I already explained the process as it was shown to us so not going to rehash that; but in addition to extensive repair they are making each horse and chariot a completely unique and creative artistic piece.

  8. Your reaction to the carousel has become the meme at this point. They aren't simply refinishing it - some of the horses literally needed parts of them rebuilt.

  9. Also it appears Gold Rush Pizza is closed this year, with nothing to replace it (I assume the Gateway Pizza at the entrance replaces it.). Arcade was moved from Zinger exit area to where the old arcade was in Americana that was used as a dressing room the past few years. Also, I forget the name, but the Cake place in Europa (used to be pizza) is off the map too. That appeared closed since Covid anyhow. No replacement there. So there's a new coaster but a net loss with so many removals.

  11. I just think it will be interesting to see how many months it will take to construct a new coaster versus how many years it took to refinish some wooden horses.

  12. Did a quick 1.5 hr. Trip to the park. TC Goliath Batman Crazanity Revolution The welders are still working on the Riddles track. I have seen them working on it for almost a month now. Hope it improves the already good ride.

  13. If they can finish either one of the projects on schedule that would be interesting.

  16. The percentage of the population that plans to travel to more than one Disney resort is miniscule. I don't care.

  17. Yeah - I haven't paid for parking in over 20 years. Additionally people don't complain to park downtown for $40 to see the game and then pay for the game itself.

  18. Six Flags really should just do away with the current naming sections as they are pretty much utter nonsense given there is minimal actual theming left anywhere. Six Flags SL is themed so horribly that when I visit other parks it's always jarring seeing appropriate theming.
