  1. This will be a fantastic addition to the park, filling the much needed stepping stone between the ho-hum Spinning Dragons and the more intense coasters and it will also be great for anyone's first wooden coaster experience. As much as I love white knuckle, super intense coasters, I also love a low to mid intensity coaster that is just a lot of fun, which this would seem to be. CF/WoF was very smart, in my opinion, to recognize that they needed a family coaster, make the effort to design a custom layout instead of another off the shelf model, and tie in enough similar elements of a much loved and lost coaster that it would appeal to the nostalgic fascination of the predecessor's devotees. I would bet that it will be enough to entice many in the KC metro area who haven't visited in years to make the trip at least once next season. Also, GCI is an amazing manufacturer of high quality woodies that introduced the world to butter smooth twister elements and I would love it if they continued adding more of their products! This would seem to be a project where CF is testing the Titan Track product for viability/reliability in a few different sections, so they can compare how it fairs versus standard woody track. I have high hopes that it will prove highly successful and it will give CF the confidence to green light full, ground up TT coasters. How awesome would it be to get a full TT re-creation or extended version of Orient Express?? Imagining the first ever woody/hybrid interlocking loops has me salivating...

  2. I really like the overall picture of keeping unruly kids out, and offering a higher quality family product that comes at a higher price tag. Which swimming pool do I want to go to? The public pool for $2 a person? Or, the $100 a month private pool family membership, where everything is well maintained and the people respect each other? If you act like a shit, your membership is revoked. Better product. Higher price. I get it. I want it. But, typically that would come with improving the product first, then raising the prices to meet the improvements. They can't hike the prices and justify it by saying they're offering 'less' shitty food, and less people will be at the park. "We planted four new flower beds, painted the shitters, and took away a family event. Pay more and come to our park!"

  3. I think it's pretty clever and cool idea to pay tribute to the ride, but also do something totally unique. So many people complain about cookie cutter Six Flags coasters: and here we have something original AND it looks like fun, with airtime

  4. If Mind Eraser is on fire .... let us all dance a jig of glee and have plenty of alcohol to celebrate!

  5. YOu can gradually raise the price while you are gradually improving the product. Charging 30-40 is not gradually improving the parking experience when you don't offer trams, shade or even an eveningly paved lot. Look how long it took to add a restroom near superman and batman at six flags america. Too many things that would enhance the guest experience have been too long ignored and you just cant say ok we want to consider ourselves in the league of disney and universal so pay us more and we will provide new benches. I just feel dejected because it feels six flags is making it seem like they parks have become city dumps due to the customers while they turned their rides into advertisements, tapped IP's that interest teens and ignore creating a family experience like they use to before they started buying up parks and lost their way.

  6. Sometimes I like to pretend like harsh realities don't exist, too. It makes me feel like a better person, and I can lecture others about their ignorance. No one is saying there aren't greater societal issues that exist worldwide, but it's not up to Six Flags to change that. They can't be blamed for recognizing that low income has a direct repeatedly confirmed association with violent crime, and adapt their business strategy toward the prevention of violent crime within their parks. It's a stupid analogy, but go to Walmart and go to Target. Which one has higher prices. Which one has more pleasant clientele.

  7. I wouldn't be surprised if these areas open on weekends when they have more staff. I also hope I'm wrong and Mind Eraser is closed because it's on fire.

  8. Capacity on this looks pretty low. Excited to see how Chessington makes it worse.

  12. $30 bucks to park at SFStL. Insanity ... at least bring back the Trams for that price! Yes, I am old enough to remember the Parking Lot Trams SFStL used to offer.

  13. I rode the train with my family tonight to find the marker and I missed it the first time past because it's nowhere near where I expected. I guess when they said requiring an exact fit they weren't kidding. This satellite image is out of date too, it's missing the bowl slide that's on the tower just north of the marker. Here's a different approximate angle

  14. Man, I actually think this coaster look really fun, and cool, and look forward to hopefully getting to ride it next year when I finally take my kids on a Missouri coaster trip! I don't get the negativity about it at all! Regulars at my closest amusement park Michigan's Adventure would kill for something like this to be added there! lol

  15. Similar at SFFT, and with a new ride investment too. *however*. . after Salim visited the park ~3 weeks ago? almost EVERY food improvement and/or new menu item is now gone (and I mean it. . I'm not talking "dining plan" stuff, which has taken a hit too. . but you can't even BUY things like the Calzone, the schnitzel, the cinnamon bread, or the baked potatoes any more). FFS, they just took "Beef and Broccoli" off the menu at Chop Six. (no, really) yeah. . he's basically fucked the parks with his cost cutting - even the ones that were running fantastic independently. (and poor Jeffrey Siebert is stuck standing there watching all their hard work go down the toilet - huge investment in both time/effort, and money to refresh Sangerfest Halle, and improve the food options in the food court option. . . and now? all that is being offered is: Personal Pizza (cheese or pepperoni), Chicken strips, a prepackaged side salad, and if you wanna pay $17? a baked chicken and beans plate. it's wrong, and driving any customers who WOULD have eaten in the park, away. It did us, we went and found a better option.
