I really don’t see why Cedar Point hasn’t capitalized on upping the price of FL+ on days they know it’s going to be bats*** insane. Charge $400 for it. Meet the demand. I’d be really irritated if I spent $150 on FL+ and still waited an hour for SV.4 points

I’m going to count this as a success The afternoon had its moments of sadness (especially on the carousel when I realized that right at that moment I would have been texting Nick the picture of me on the white rabbit. But thank goodness for Sean who distracted me by talking about how awesome cedar downs was during his trip to cedar point) Big thanks to Sean for driving, Amy for encouraging me to try, Juan for meeting up with us as well. . . and especially Park President Jeffrey Siebert - who made a special effort to meet up with us so he could give me a hug and his condolences Other than the carousel only rode Dr Diabolicals Cliffhanger (3 times). But was good to get out of the house. my take on Dr. D? it's a really good dive coaster for the park, and not as extreme as it looks. It falls somewhere in the middle of the park's coaster lineup - not as good as Poltergeist, Wonder Woman, or Iron Rattler - about the same level as Superman & Goliath - better than Roadrunner Express, Batman, Pandemonium, and Boomerang. what elevates it higher than the "same level" coasters tho, is the theming in the queue - an excellent indoor preshow with two air-conditioned rooms, animatroncs, hidden doors, and some great special effects. The free locker system is great too, although zippered pockets seemed to work just fine without needing to use the lockers on my 2nd and 3rd rides. unlike most dive coasters? back row is THE place to ride this coaster. The back row gives an amazing pop of air on the 1st and midcourse drop (that you just don't get on the front or middle row), and makes the pops of air in the helixes that much stronger. so yeah. . ride back row. . right hand side of the train. . you're welcome. and again, thanks to Jeffrey for stopping by for a hug. . it really made my afternoon, and I really can't express how much it meant to me.3 points

Would be nice to see someone prosecuted for this shit, when it results in injury.2 points

Man, I actually think this coaster look really fun, and cool, and look forward to hopefully getting to ride it next year when I finally take my kids on a Missouri coaster trip! I don't get the negativity about it at all! Regulars at my closest amusement park Michigan's Adventure would kill for something like this to be added there! lol2 points

No hate from this guy. Also I would have taken Wicked Twister in a heartbeat had they relocated it. This reimagining of Zambezi Zinger is original and not a cloned coaster such as a raptor. Not throwing shade on a raptor either. I just think you gotta be excited when something original comes to your park that hasn’t ever been done before.1 point

I think hell has frozen over. We’re at BGT and Cheetah Hunt has 4 trains running without quadruple stacking, 90-100 second dispatches and employees telling people to essentially hurry up. It’s a 40 minute wait on an August Saturday. Well I’ll be. Looks like adding a bag checker at greeter has helped.1 point

I fail to see how buying a SBNO coaster from a closed park equates to forcibly buying an operating coaster from an operating park, but you do you. But thank you for confirming the sterotype of a WoF (or VF, SFStL, Dorney, Darien Lake, etc. etc.) local enthusiast - no matter what you get, its never enough. Would you rather go another 13 years without a coaster?1 point

You know what, you are right. It's a turd because base on your post, if anyone would know a turd it would be you my friend. . .1 point

I firmly believe that Corkscrew will run basically forever. This has nothing to do with it's historical significance (which is overblown anyway because it's at Cedar Point), I'm positive that they don't actually care about that. I believe this just because there's no reason to remove it from a practicality standpoint. Corkscrew's entire ride path is over midways and and an employee storage and parking area other than the station and first turnaround other than two tiny slivers of track that hug a perimeter fence and a midway. It takes up no room at all. In addition, it has about as low of a staffing requirement as a Cedar Point coaster can have, there's no shortage of spare parts, it's popular enough, it looks great, it never breaks, it can run in almost anything and it probably does way better ridership numbers than it has any right to. I really think the best we can hope for in that spot is a flat ride, restaurant or hopefully a bathroom that's not an absolute disgrace. I could be wrong, but I really don't see this ride leaving.1 point

If your primary interests are hobbies in which a bunch of 17 year olds being paid crap wages are responsible for staffing them and providing you a service, then yes, everything sucks. If you have a wider breadth of things that you do with your life, the fact that we don't have anywhere near enough laborers to do the amount of labor our economy requires is not going to impact you to the same degree. Theme parks are intrinsically going to be one of the points of failure in a situation like this because they are luxury services committed to high margin-low wage operation. There's a million things to do instead that aren't as impacted. I have had no issues finding such things to do, and honestly, I don't feel as though my life is poorer for it. The opposite is in fact true!1 point

Almost everything costs more, service is not the same, and product quality is going to shit. Aside from that, everything is great. I hope he factored inflation into those figures, because they definitely make his numbers looks better without taking that into consideration.1 point

And how would you propose doing that, given that the original coaster is now operating in another park (in a third-world country to boot, so you know maintenance hasn't been done), has recently had a major incident, and is by a long-defunct manufacturer? Seriously people, think before you speak.1 point

Yeah, Cedar Fair rarely makes all their announcements on the same day. The park's probably just waiting another week or so to announce their new fleet of trash cans.1 point

You just can't go by back something that isn't for sale you know. . . Besides why do that when you can spend the same money on something unique and brand NEW.1 point

Worlds of Fun has announced their new for 2023 roller coaster, Zambezi Zinger, a tribute to the original Zambezi Zinger that used to stand at the park! https://www.worldsoffun.com/new-in-2023/zambezi-zinger The new Zambezi Zinger roller coaster will take guests on a thrilling journey above its galvanized steel and wood hybrid frame, dropping guests from an iconic spiral lift hill into a low-to-the-ground track that races through the trees and terrain of the African Serengeti. Packed with several moments of airtime, banked turns and quick transitions, riders are connected to the feeling of an epic safari chase and fast-paced adventure! Designed by: Great Coasters International and Skyline Attractions Length: 2,428 feet Speed: 45 mph Duration: 2 minutes Track Style: Hybrid Titan Track Trains: New Infinity Flyer Trains, capable of taking on the most extreme coaster elements # of Trains: 2 Riders/Train: 16 The original Zinger was one of the park’s most popular rides – and one of three coasters – when Worlds of fun opened in 1973. The new Zinger is sure to delight a new generation of guests while providing a nostalgic nod to the past.1 point

In a way, this does feel different. Everyone hates Bob Chapek for various reasons but Disney is still selling out of reservations on a daily basis despite all of the complaints. People complain about it, but as I look now every single ride that sells Individual Lightning Lane sold out of them today so they really don’t care. Cedar Fair made stupid decision after stupid decision last year but people still showed up and a lot of those stupid decisions actually benefited the consumer. Not all, but many did. Six Flags is doing things that people don’t like and absolutely nobody is going to their parks. They actually are getting blowback for it, but for whatever reason they’re doubling down and raising prices some more. The fact that there’s no indication of any self awareness on their part is alarming.1 point
